anyway turns out the book i've been thinking of for over a decade and couldn't remember what it was called i've had it on my bookshelf this whole time
#memory issues are the worst!#this is not a super big memory issue and is more like#probably just the normal passage of time and degradation of memory mostly#but like#ok so#the giver used to be one of my favorite books#and i had lois lowry's other book gathering blue#but i would've sworn i never read it#cause of my attachment to the giver or something?#like it wouldn't hold up or something?#i specifically remember NOT reading it#(probably at one point and then read it later)#anyway the book i sort of remembered and had trouble finding for YEARS#was of course#gathering blue#on my bookshelf THE WHOLE TIME#CAUSE MY BRAIN SAID 'you haven't read that book'#anyway only knowing the vague plot#(and apparently getting a bunch of details wrong)#google is of course useless#and i joined a group on goodreads last night#to help find the title and someone answered it in like an hour#ejg#personal
