The last week has been an incredible world wind with judging at ProStart Nationals in Baltimore and then traveling to Ohio the next day.  With the help of great friends and family, I was able to get through it all with a smile on my face.  Also, I was drinking a lot of tea to keep going.  Traditionally, I only drink 3 cups max in 24 hours to keep my caffeine intake low.  Well, I know I went over that and one of the teas that I was consuming was a loose tea from Yunnan Sourcing.

Feng Qing Golden Pekoe #100 was an amazing addition to my travel bag this week.  Not only is it a great tea and affordable, but it’s also so easy to drink.  I was able to sip on this all day long and enjoyed it immensely.  I’m a huge fan of ginger and golden malt and this tea was full of these characteristics.  Just lovely and easy drinking, this one is a winner.  They have a limited stock so I would suggest picking some up very soon.

Culinary Arts Ceremony: Architecture and Food Experience

In this essay, I will look at the architectural and experiential components of restaurants and provide advice to anyone looking to build a culinary arts venue that focuses on the culinary experience. A culinary arts area can be a team-building outreach centre, a pre-function venue for a special event, or an attractive on-campus restaurant.

Developing a new culinary arts program for restaurants necessitates balancing student expectations, curriculum requirements, and possible donor philanthropic aspirations. It also allows the institution to form synergistic partnerships with internal and external partners.

The Nationwide Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) has supported a national culinary arts program named ProStart for the past 23 years. This two-year high school curriculum is designed to provide students with in-depth, hands-on exposure to all aspects of restaurant management.

Students in ProStart receive instruction from experienced chefs and management professionals who are linked through class mentors. Students who graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the business are eligible for scholarships and course credits at top culinary schools.

Several schools around the country have joined forces with the ProStart initiative. ICE (Institute for Culinary Education) and Butler University are two of these institutes. WILD train of events but i was thinking about napoleons and there was a lemon in front of me and I suddenly had a visceral memory of making some sort of sweet cream filling that had lemon juice as an ingredient but i didnt keep any of our competition recipes when i moved so i decided to try and contact my hs prostart teacher to see if she still had them but i couldn't remember her name so i went to my hs website to look at the class and there was a different teacher listed who's name i recognized but couldnt figure out from where and then it hit me that its one of my cooking teammates who is now apparently teaching the class that we took together?????
