you may know satomi from real life, known for her run on jacknjellify's bfdi (battle for dream island) or her very own object show, bfr^n (battle for rice). well, she has been working on her own object show webcomic called protagonist object show (protos), all about lampy, the REAL STAR OF THE SHOW!

and she wants to finish the last 11 remaining chapters for the rest of the year!! and if you'd like to help, great news!! you at least got a month to help her reach her goal, and maybe even more?? who knows!! you could probably even cameo in the new chapters as they release, or get to look at future chapters earlier than everyone else!!

if you missed out on the very limited physical run, good news tho!! you could still back it now and get all 26 chapters and a bonus backer exclusive chapter as one massive pdf!!

my darling little object followers should really read protagonist object show, if they haven't yet. the kickstarter campaign to get it finished is already over and funded but as of posting this (may 15th) the late backer rewards are still available if you want in on any of those rewards!

but either way you should read the 15 chapters that exist already cuz theyre way good. satomi's writing remains on top and deserves all the support this community can give i think

Arduino Unoだけで音を作るDigital Synth VRA8-N v2.1.0をリリースしました。5/4(土)-5(日) #MFKyoto2019 Maker Faire Kyoto 2019に出展します。よろしくお願いします。

主な変更内容：

音質がヒドかったことに気付いたので、CUTOFF周波数の調整範囲を5オクターブ (G3-G8) から4オクターブ (G4-G8) に狭めた

OSC2の波形にNOISEを追加（「風の音」や「パーカッションっぽい音」が出せるように）

LFO FADE TIMEコントロールを追加（「EG > LFO DEPTH」よりもコチラの方が便利そう）

LFO LED出力オプションを追加

MIDI Shield用に、ピンD5でのオーディオ出力オプションを追加（MIDI Breakout Boardを使用していたこともあり、SparkFun MIDI ShieldのピンD6がLEDに接続されていることに気付かなかった... デフォルト出力をピンD5に変更したいくらいだが、ユーザーへの影響があるのでガマン）

動作モード「VRA8-N mini」オプションを追加（電圧制御に対応、サブオシレーター無効）

動作安定性の向上

これで「VRA8-N mini」は一応完成。 ノーマル版と並べて展示しようかな？　サブオシレーターが無効なのは音質的に残念だが、CPUパワーの都合である。

Pot A0：PITCH（0Vでノートオフ。Korg SQ-1の「littleBits OUT」にマッチ）

Pot A1：CUTOFF

Pot A3：OSC MIX

Button D2：PROGRAM変更（途中からRAMDOM CTRLになる）

Button D4：SCALE MODE変更（デフォルトは「Chromatic (2Oct / 5V)」で、外部からのCV入力に適している「Linear (5Oct / 5V)」にも変更可能）

独自関数を用意して、AD変換完了待ちがビジーループになるのを回避。ボタン入力については、タイマー（カウンタ）を使ってチャタリング防止。

SCALE MODEはあまり凝っていないけれど、「Chromatic (2Oct / 5V)」を用意したのは、ノート番号変化時に（マルチトリガー設定で）EGをトリガーさせるため。あえて、GATE INは用意していない。

Korg SQ-1を繋げてみると、5Vに近づくほど制御電圧（CV）の誤差が大きくなる傾向がある。仕方ない？　一般的なモジュラーシンセでは、この辺りはどうしているのだろうか？

今さらながら、VRA8-N v1.0のデモをYouTubeにアップ。SoundCloudにアップ済みのものを（静止画）動画化しただけ。

シンセサイザーの性能と圧縮条件の両方の理由から、v0.1のデモよりも音質が良いハズ。本当はv2.0のデモを上げたいけれど、レコーディングしていない...

前回“今のところv2.1は出さない予定”と書いたが、結局色々と変更。フラッシュメモリの消費量もそろそろ限界。（上に書いていないが、今回はATmega328Pを使用している「Arduino Nano 3.x」でも動作することを確認した。Unoよりもフラッシュメモリが1.5 KiBだけ少ない）

また、���抵抗なしでアンプに直結しても（ほとんどの場合は）問題ない気がしてきました。上の写真でも直結していますが、音質も大丈夫そうです”と書いたが、アクティブスピーカーによってはピーピー鳴ってしまった（「高調波ひずみ」の影響？？）。大丈夫でない。やはり、“RCフィルター回路を追加することを推奨します”は変更ナシ。

アンプに直結できるなら、ジャンパー線の抜け防止に「Screw Shield」が役に立つかもと考えたのだが、残念。ハードウェアを頑丈にしたいのなら、いずれ「Proto Shield」に抵抗、コンデンサ、オーディオ出力ラインを「はんだ付け」するしかないか...（ついに、はんだゴテの「封印」が解かれる？）

次の課題は、Maker Faire Kyoto 2019の資料準備など。その後は、“VRA8-ψ (psi) の開発を後まわしにして”VRA8-Qの開発を「再開」するかも知れない。（予定変更しまくり）

winter high (WH)- a "what if" universe where fan, soap, polaris, rocket, cream, and kit met as freshmen in highschool instead of in the hospital

apocalypse au- inspiration was pibby apocalypse and its corruption (specifically with the BFDI FNF mods) with some changes here and there

fallen universes (FU)- a "what if" universe where humans dont exist and objects rule the world (check it out at https://fallenuniverses.thecomicseries.com ) big brother yang (BBY)- a "what if" universe where yin and yang arent twins, instead yang is 14 and trying to find his missing parents while juggling work and raising his 1 year old sister (set in early 2000's to fuel that hyperfixation of mine) family of phones (FOP)- main universe comic for my meeple ocs (ipod, SE, 2, and proto) and their families (check it out at @familyofphones) objectcare/bad hospital au (OC)- a sparklecareesque au following the same cast as winter high (check it out at @objectcare) winter fam- main universe where fan, soap, polaris, rocket, and kit all have a huge family hospital gang- main universe where fan, soap, polaris, rocket, cream, and kit all exist together in a hospital (not to be confused with the bad hospital au) labrat au- au where all meeple products are rats instead of phones (kinda like protogens) creature au- every object has some form of mixed animal traits (like ears from one animal and a tail from another) Y2K twins- like BBY but they are twins. still set in early 2000's (check it out at https://y2ktwins.thecomicseries.com )
