Some wonderful art right now at @paam1914 including a spectacular collection of paintings by Phillip Malicoat. I met this iconic artist way back when through an art teacher of mine who was studying with him. He was very approachable but also preoccupied with his work. This show of works loaned by his family is worth the trip. I went to #Provincetown to see a #photography exhibit of @joel_meyerowitz work at @paam1914, #provincetownartassociationandmuseum. The sky cleared, and it became a beautiful day to shoot, so I did! The photographs were really beautiful, though I have voices in my head. They're telling me, "you don't really need all that sky, so I'd crop it." "If you bring it down from the top a little, you'll have a nice and effective panel." "This is what you call a pretty picture without a story." There will always be people telling you how to shoot the way they have always shot. That's fine because it adds to your foundational knowledge. Put it in your mental model and let it macerate. All the dos and don'ts will blend into a unique way of seeing that only you have.
