Summary: Natalia meets your parents as your girlfriend

Pernille wishes that they could make the trip to Spain to see you more often. But with their own work schedules plus flight times and your own training, it was difficult sometimes.

But, it was all worth it when she and Magda got out of arrivals to see your beaming face waiting for them.

"Princesse!" Pernille pulls you in for a hug, cradling your face and inspecting you.

The Spanish sun has been good for you. You're practically glowing as you take Pernille's hand in one of your own and Magda's in the other.

"How has training been?" Magda asks as you all make the trek to where you've parked your car.

"Good," You reply," We've got that match against Eibar at the weekend so we've been training pretty hard."

"You're top of the table," Magda reminds you," You can't be having to train that hard."

You shrug. "Talia says she'll cook dinner if I keep a clean sheet."

"That's nice of her," Pernille cuts in when she sees Magda's eye twitch.

Your crush on Natalia has been going on for years now and Magda's never fully come around to it. In her eyes, you were still that little toddler who moved from Germany to England. You were too young to have a crush, least of all a crush on a flirty Spanish girl who practically had a salacious smirk on her face all the time.

Magda had always imagined that your first official crush would be on someone like Jessie. You'd had a childhood crush on her for years (even if you had never actually realised it) so Magda had just assumed that people like Jessie were your type.

Natalia and her flirtations were out of left field.

"Talia doesn't cook often," You explain as you slip into your car," But she makes this amazing pasta dish that I've been craving for weeks."

"That sounds wonderful," Pernille says," I'm looking forward to seeing you play this weekend. We tune into your matches whenever we can."

As the topic moves on from Natalia's, Magda finds herself relaxing.

It's not that she doesn't like Natalia. Natalia is a great girl but you're Magda's baby. She doesn't want to have to imagine you kissing a girl or falling into bed with one. You're her only child and the idea of you moving away to Spain and potentially never coming back was almost too much to handle.

"I saw that match against Real Madrid," Magda says instead," That was a fantastic dive."

"The shot winded me a little bit," You reply proudly, turning onto the street with your apartment," But I'm glad I caught it. I was a little worried that I wouldn't."

"You're the best keeper in the world," Pernille says," Of course you were going to stop it."

Your cheeks turn a little pink as you turn off the car. "We don't know that. That PSG keeper-"

"You'll win it," Magda says," I can feel it in my bones. You'll see at the end of the year. You'll win."

You don't respond to that as your cheeks flush a deeper colour, making your way up the elevator to your apartment.

"Prins is fully trained now," You say proudly as you unlock your door," And he's bilingual. Talia is trying to teach him Spanish but he's refusing."

"Good," Magda says," I knew there was a reason I liked him."

Your apartment is different to how it was when she and Pernille left you there. It's more homey and cosy. Rocky the Rock was still on one of the shelves with girl-swan and girl-moose. Everything still had a place but it felt more lived in now.

A few of Prins' toys were scattered around on the floor and there were soft blankets strewn around the room.

Prins yaps happily at seeing you all, wandering over to get tickles behind the ear from Pernille, who happily crouches down to give them to him.

She glances around slightly, feeling just like Magda that there is something different about your home.

A cat tree was wedged in one corner, with a beautiful long-furred calico sleeping in one of the little caves. There was a Barcelona training shirt that didn't have your number on it hanging over the armrest of the sofa.

There were shoes that weren't your size on the floor.

But, the real kicker was the soft footsteps coming closer and closer.

"Hola," Natalia says as she appears around the corner.

Your face brightens up as soon as you see her, only getting happier and happier as she drops a soft kiss on your lips before moving over to the kitchen area without a care in the world.

Prins goes to follow her, wagging his tail as she throws him down a treat. The beautiful cat from earlier also crawls out from her nap spot to get treats too.

Pernille has to stifle her laugh as Magda stares, a finger coming up to point between you and Natalia, who was now happily humming as she grabbed some butter from the fridge.

"I...You...She..." Magda stutters out," What?!"

"Mi vida," Natalia says," Did you want the normal bread or the fancy bread?"

"Fancy, please," You reply," Morsa, is something wrong?"

Magda's still stuttering, not fully able to articulate her thoughts as she gestures wildly.

Pernille laughs, looping her arm around Magda's waist in comfort. "I think your Morsa is just a bit confused. She wasn't expecting Natalia to be here too."

You frown. "But why? Talia lives here too?"

"What?!" Magda demands.

You give her a funny look. "She's lived here for weeks now. Did I forget to tell you?"

"Mi vida," Natalia says," Why don't we sit down. Sorry, Miss Eriksson, Miss Harder, did you want a sandwich too? I forgot to ask."

"That would be lovely, thank you, Natalia," Pernille says as she guides Magda to sit at the kitchen table," I'll have some ham if you have it and Magda's the same."

Magda barely looks mentally present in the room, her mouth opening and closing like a fish.

It's very clear from the way that Natalia's moving around that she's trying to make a good impression. She's met Magda and Pernille before but that was when she was on Spain's youth team. Meeting them now as your girlfriend is different from back then.

Of course, both Magda and Pernille knew that she's been your girlfriend for a while now. You'd been very excited to tell them but Natalia moving in with you must have slipped your mind.

Natalia looks unbelievably nervous as she slides the sandwiches in front of Pernille and Magda, taking up the empty seat opposite them and next to you.

The cat from earlier leaps up onto the table, brushing her bushy tail against Natalia's face before jumping down again to wander back to her cat tree.

"That's Reina," You say proudly," She's Talia's cat."

"I can see that," Pernille says fondly," She's beautiful."

"I brush her every day," Natalia says, puffing out her chest. She's really laying it on thick. She made a sandwich for everyone. She's showing off how responsible she is by bragging about her cat's stunning pelt. She's taking care not to touch you as much as Pernille knows she wants to. She's really trying to make a good impression.

Magda laughs sardonically. "I mean," She says," You've really made yourself at home, haven't you?"

"Morsa!" You snap and Magda jolts.

You very rarely raise your voice, least of all at her but it's clear she's rubbed you up the wrong way. You seem to regret it though because your eyes dart back down to stare at the grain of the table.

Your voice stays firm though. "Don't be mean. This is Natalia's home too."

"Magda," Pernille says and it's funny how similar to two of you are," We're having a grownup conversation here. Be polite."

Magda sighs deeply. Her hand clenches into a fist and then unclenches again. She expels all of her breath.

"How long have you been moved in together?" Her voice is softer now, more welcoming but it's clear to Pernille that Natalia is still a little on edge.

"Nearly two months," You say," I think it's going really well!"

"It is," Natalia says, finally getting a bit more of her usual confidence back," We're doing very well together...Miss Eriksson."

Magda pulls a face. "Don't call me that," She says," It makes me feel old. I'm not old."

That gets you smiling again and the hand you've hidden under the table moves up to rest on it, showing that you've laced it tightly with Natalia's.

"You're old enough to have a twenty year old," You tease and that gets Natalia smiling down.

She's practically beaming at you, looking at you like you've hung the moon and the stars and the planets turned with you at the centre.

Magda doesn't like it. She doesn't want anyone looking at you like that. She doesn't want people to be attracted to you. You're her baby, the little baby who used to fit so perfectly in her arms and used to sneak into the big bed and speak German just to annoy her.

But you're grown up now and she can't think of anyone else she'd rather have look at you like you were their whole world than Natalia.

"So," Magda says begrudgingly," Natalia, I hear that you make really good pasta."

Whoever decided on the seating arrangements must have had a cruel sense of humor.

It was the final match of the World Cup — Argentina vs France with one chance to win it all — and the Argentine family suite was situated right next to a suite of French celebrities.

You tried to remain calm. Your youngest nephew was sitting on your lap and your two other nephews sat to your side next to your sister-in-law. You didn’t want to set a bad example for them. But when the French fans in the suite bordering yours started heckling your brother, all rational thoughts went out the window. Goal for goal, save for save, penalty for penalty — you traded barbs and insults with a man your age who was enthusiastically supporting France. Your heart was racing wildly in your chest as Argentina gained the lead and then gave it up and then regained it and then gave it up and then finally, gloriously won. By the time your tears and cheers subsided, the French man you had enjoyed going toe-to-toe with was nowhere to be found and it was time for family members to join the Argentine players on the field for a celebration.

Later that night, an impromptu party was thrown for players, family, and celebrities who hadn’t flown home yet. National divides were forgotten as everyone let loose and enjoyed getting to witness history together. You joined the crowd of sweaty bodies dancing to the music when you felt two large hands grip your hips and turned around, ready to slap the stranger for getting too handsy.

You dropped your hand when you noticed that it was the French man from the game, “hey, Frenchie!”

“My name’s Pierre,” he has to raise his voice to be heard over the music.

“I’m Y/N,” you yell back.

Trying to keep the conversation going but getting sick of competing with the booming music, you both retreat to a quieter corner. You decide to extend some sportsmanship, “good game today.”

“France fought hard but Argentina fought harder in the end,” Pierre shrugged.

“It was intense to be sure but I am so happy for the boys.”

He scratches at his neck, “your boyfriend must be very proud.”

“My boyfriend?”

“You and your son seem very supportive of him. He’s a lucky man.”

A boyfriend? A son? What …

“Oh no! You must be talking about my nephew, Ciro. His father is on the team.”

His eyes widened, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-“

“Don’t worry about it,” you laugh it off. “Let’s have proper introductions. Hi, my name is Y/N Messi.”

“Messi?”

“Leo is my brother.”

“Well, I definitely had that messed up.” He returned your greeting, “I’m Pierre Gasly.”

“Your name sounds familiar. Where do I know you from?”

“Ah, I drive for Formula 1.”

“Yes! I remember now. I have to admit that I am not much of a fan but I did get to see the French Grand Prix this year.”

“Really? Do you spend much time in France or was this just a vacation?”

“Leo’s not the only footballer in the family. I play for Paris Saint-Germain Féminine.”

You spent the rest of the night getting to know each other better, both of you relating to struggles as professional athletes and public figures — and it was a good opportunity to show off your rapidly improving French.

When it was well into the early hours of the morning, and the partygoers were breaking up to go back to their hotels, neither of you wanted to leave.

You start making your way out slowly, “I’ve had a really great time talking to you.”

“Me too,” Pierre agrees with earnest eyes.

“How about you come out to a PSG game soon and I’ll return the favor when the F1 season starts back up.”

“Yeah, I’d really like that. Let’s trade numbers so we can make some plans.”

You leave him with a light kiss on the cheek, which you see him touching when you sneakily turn back to take another look at him before getting in your car.

When you’re in bed later, the sun set to rise in just a short few hours, you send Pierre a text before you can think twice of it:

Battle Scars

Irony, what a bitch. There you are, a hopeless romantic who had sworn off romance, trapped in the city of love. Thank god that was about to end soon.

Life is hard, but yours was a special case for itself. It was as if someone had cursed you. Whatever could go wrong, would explode in your face and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it did.

That's just what happened before you left PSG.

An accident that involved you crashing into a wall on your bike. The aftermath: surgery after surgery, months of pain followed by months of rehabilitation.

As your recovery progressed, so did your contract. The option for an extension no longer on the table forced you out of a city you grew to love.

Manchester City being one of the clubs pushing for your signature. One of the only clubs that was actually interested in getting you back to your old self, a goal scoring machine.

The path you had carefully crafted towards captaincy of your beloved PSG being swapped with mere first team football.

Your career didn't look the best, but you were determined to do a 180 on your situation. Maybe luck was on your side this time.

Walking into the dressing room, after you got the introductions over with, was weird. Different colors, different people, different everything. Only you remained the same - at least for now.

Getting ready for your first training session, having the media team glued to your every move, you carefully moved the phone lens away from you "Do you mind not filming this part" the only words coming out of your mouth, your voice made it sound more like a plea.

The media team had no issue in removing themselves from the locker room after your request "Sure, we will wait for you outside" the sweet lady replied as she lightly squeezed your forearm.

The interaction got your teammate's attention and although they didn't speak of it, their eyes sure kept track of your every-move.

Removing your shirt, revealing some of the scars left on your body, the eyes of a certain brunette wandered off. Looking at your form, your muscles, the tattoos spread across your body.

You turning around spoiled the Spaniards party. Covering your skin with your training top as if she had seen something she wasn't supposed to see.

There was so much that you were hiding and the mystery sparked the interest of the brunette.

Getting your first training session under your belt, being recorded for what felt like an eternity.

It was done, at least for today.

Walking off towards one of the training ground goals, you sat on the goal line, allowing your body to rest against the grass.

For the first time since you left your apartment, you were alone. Or that's what you thought.

The rubbing of someone's body against your own as they sat next to you "You want some water?", a bottle being handed to you by none other than Leila Ouahabi.

Grabbing the bottle you softly replied "Thanks" your hand gently graced hers as her eyes wandered again.

Taking a hold of your hand, she inspected the scars shattered across your arm. For the first time in a while, your body didn't recoil.

The Spanish woman traced some of the scars visible, wondering if she was allowed to ask where you got them from.

"That's from a bike accident" you declared as she traced one of the scars that traveled from your hand across your forearm. Leila inspected further, gently tapping your knee.

The scar that every football player dreads getting "ACL" you replied.

"The one on your back?"

Her question was answered by a turn of your head, for the first time you returned a look into her eyes.

"Motocross incident" She pulled your sleeve up to trace the scar on your shoulder "This one?" her voice sweetly asked.

"Surgery" a quick response that prompted Leila to intensify the way she looked at you, realizing that she probably stepped a line she shouldn't have.

The fullback slowly got up, extending her hand to help you up.

On your way to the locker room you explained "Broke my shoulder when I played against Lyon three years ago" the defender sighed in relief, she didn’t overstep.

"Pro tip, don't go into a challenge against Renard shoulder first" you laughed. She leaned against you, a soft "Join us for lunch" left her lips.

"I can't" a reply neither one of you wanted to be said "Next time" you promised squeezing her hand as you headed towards your locker.

A couple of weeks had passed and you hadn't fulfilled your promise to the defender.

Taking advantage of her relationship with your captain, Vicky Losada, she got your home address. Using it on a random Tuesday to show up unannounced.

Shocked at who stood in front of you as you opened your front door "Hi?" you asked, lost for words.

The Spaniards eyes drifted from your sweat covered shoulders down to your stomach only to have her daydreams abruptly stopped

"You need something?" a question that left her stuttering as she concocted a somewhat plausible excuse.

"You've escaped team bonding many a time, let me do it once"

Letting her into your apartment you walked towards the kitchen

"Want something to drink?" an offer the defender took "A beer?" she asked. Making your way towards Leila you replied "You're lucky my neighbor just gifted me some" popping the cap open you added "Don't tell Vicky I have these at home"

The defender laughed, accepting to keep your secret, walking towards you her eyes traveled to a bandage on your V-line "That's new" she pointed out.

You found her worrying cute "It's just a tattoo" you calmed her down "I'm going to take a shower, make yourself at home"

Alone in your living room, she started to look around. Taking in the decorations you had put up, looking at all the pictures you had on display.

A person she had known for weeks, but you still remained a mystery to her.

The doorbell startled her, stopping her imagination. Answering your door, she started to live in her made up scenario only to have it shattered when she saw who was standing on the other side.

A woman that most would describe as a goddess rendering the defender speechless.

"Hi, is Y/N around?" the woman inquired, hiding how shocked she was at the presence of Leila in your apartment.

"She's in the shower" the defender stated and as she was about to open her mouth again you emerged from your room, half dressed, a damp stomach on display.

"Everything okay?" you asked, looking at Leila who could only point to the woman standing in front of her "Mind giving me a ride? My car broke down again" her head peeked into your apartment.

"Sure, want to join us Leila?" you invited the fullback as you put your shirt on "Yeah sure"

The City defender sat back and observed your dynamic with the mystery woman, trying to figure out what her connection to you was.

Dropping the mystery girl off, you tapped the seat next to you "Ride shotgun", a statement the Spaniard didn't understand "Sit next to me" you explained further.

The drive back to your place started with an uncomfortable silence "What's wrong?" you refused this to be the new dynamic with your favorite teammate.

Leila refused to meet your eyes "Well, she's hot" she tested the waters. Confused as to where the defender wanted to steer the conversation "I guess" you shrugged your shoulders.

The defender left struggling for words, you weren't making her mission any easier. Who was this mystery girl to you?

"Want to stop for some food?" You lighten the mood, food did that to the both of you. The defender quickly agreed.

It was probably the first time you sat down alone with the defender at a dinner table.

"Why do you look sad?" you questioned "I remember you saying that you liked sushi, you don't like this restaurant?" The well-being of the defender was clearly a priority of yours, something that surprised her.

"No, no" she reached for your hands struggling to find the English words "I like this place" she stated "I- I was wondering" her voice started to mumble out "Who is that girl to you?"

A question you were barely able to hear.

Quickly, the puzzle pieces fell into place. You now understood the sudden change in Leila's demeanor.

"She's my neighbor" you start to phrase it the best way possible, giving the defender the peace of mind she was looking for "I help her with her kid sometimes"

Hopefully this information would guide the defender into the right path; there was nothing going on between the both of you.

Leila was back to her old self, making dinner go by smoothly. As the night ended, you offered Leila a ride home, giving her an option to go back to your place too.

The defender picked the latter one, there was no way she was passing on that opportunity.

Contrary to what she believed, your offer wasn't anything more than platonic.

You had made a pact to yourself; dating during your football career was off the table. Something you had respected thus far, there was no way some woman you had meet a couple of weeks ago would change that - or would she?

Watching a random movie you found on Netflix, you allowed the night to end calmly. Neither party making rash decisions, decisions they might end up regretting.

Leaving the couch, you disappeared into your bedroom without explanation, coming back with a pillow and some blankets. Was this your way of friend zoning somebody you had clear interest for?

Leila looked at you puzzled, slowly realizing what was happening. She would rather sleep on your couch than away from you, alone, in her own apartment. Grabbing the blankets from your arms she started to set up camp.

"What are you doing?" now it was you that was puzzled "I'm not letting you sleep on my couch" you declared "You get my bed"

Leila's head was spinning, thanking whoever was writing the script of her life for the last words that came out of your mouth. Smoothly getting closer to you, she gave you a peck before she made her way into your bedroom.

A kiss that was far too close to your lips to be a strictly platonic one

"Goodnight" the defender sent you one last look over her shoulder before she disappeared into your bedroom.

There you were, sleeping on your couch. A woman that you described as a goddess sleeping alone in your bed. You sure as hell didn't picture your Tuesday to end this way.

Waking up with Leila lent against the door-frame of your bedroom, watching you from afar. Your back now fully exposed, you did like sleeping mostly naked and hell - you were in your apartment.

Realizing that you were slowly waking up, she made her way to you, sitting herself down by your legs. She gave herself the liberty of tracing the tattoos on your back.

It gave you a ticklish sensation but you sure as hell weren't going to stop her. Her touch felt comforting, it had the power to calm you.

"Morning" your raspy voice turned her on even more.

"Hi" she smiled "I'll make coffee" she placed a kiss on your back before she ventured into your kitchen.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

(including Dragon's Curse/Adventure Island)

So, apart from the Brazilian release Turma da Mônica em: O Resgate, I believe I've played through every version of this game now. Spoilers, they're all 5/5 bangers.

In essence, one of the OG MetroidVania games before the genre was codified, in its year of release 1989 this was absolutely amazing and truly made me have no regrets growing up as a SEGA kid. I believe I've waxed lyrical in my review of the 2017 remake, so I won't gush too much. Heh. So instead, some notes about the three main versions before that.

The original Master System version needs no introduction. It's a solid romp, probably the best game for the system. Looks great, sounds great (with PSG or FM sound!), and is a nice 2-3 hour distraction when I need it. No notes.

The PC Engine version, known either as Dragon's Curse or Adventure Island (confusingly, given the series' spaghetti-ball of a lineage) is a fair enough game. Because it's the Master System version. Kinda. Apart from some changes to Lizard and Piranha Man, plus Lion Man being replaced with Tiger Man, you'd be hard-pressed to see any difference between the two outside maybe one or two recoloured skies. But I assure you, there's more shading on almost every visual element here.

This may sound like a diss, but despite it not really 'feeling' like PC Engine fare it's still good. It does run at a full 60fps though; double the other two versions here.

My initial impressions of the Game Gear version were basically to the tune of 'oh dear, oh dear me'. I wasn't impressed. Rather than redraw a whole game's worth of assets to compensate for the smaller screen real-estate, the game is instead crunched to a tiny space with simplified layouts in places. Combat is tougher as a result of the reduced visibility, but it's nothing that can't be adapted to. Oh, but I'd have killed for a camera that looks ahead in the player's facing direction. Alas.

However, as I played further, stubbornly due to my want to play all the versions of this childhood favourite, I started to notice changes that really improved things on a fundamental level.

For starters, the 'charm point' system is gone (buy what you want, when you want! As long as you've got the rubies, uh, coins), as with the 2017 remake. Unlike that version, however, the charm stones have been replaced with teleportation gems that serve to return the player to the main village on use. And there's plenty of them; perhaps a quality-of-life measure with the Game Gear's poor battery life in mind? Either way, it's welcome -- even if the lack of 'home' doors post-boss was initially sorta confusing.

But. Also. Due to the game essentially having a small-scale redesign to accommodate the crunched screen, certain areas have a particular new 'flavour' to them. It's now impossible to accidentally stumble into the lava canyon area before you've access to Piranha Man's swimming now, for example. There are a few interesting screens in the final dungeon as well, and the pyramid's key is now in the sphinx at its far side. Et cetera, and so on, and so forth.

Actually that made this version totally worth playing through, and I think it remiss to not have paid homage to some of the changes in the 2017 version. Ah well. Had it a look-ahead camera I'd actually call this tiny handheld version the definitive one of the pre-remake versions. But it's not to be.

Either way, I told ya. Three absolute banger versions of a great game.

I’m Blanc (she/her) 24 years old and i’m a quiet and neurotic artist trying to navigate the real world and the world my mind has constructed around me at the same time. My dream is to be a vampire princess.

My art can be found on this blog in full, though I will reblog it here from time to time. Please take care when looking, I draw lots of dark themes and depictions of my own mental illnesses (menhera stuff, and the like). It’s catharsis for me due to how badly they affect my life.

💜what you will find here: My biggest interests are project moon works (anything with Yesod specifically, but promoon in general), so limbus, ruina, lobcorp stuff and the like. You will also see lots of Pokemon and two specific train oriented twins from Pokemon Black and White. I draw them a lot too. Match Review: Manchester United Women 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain Féminine

For Manchester United Women's first foray into any sort of Champions League fixture, a draw with PSG is not a bad way to get started.

United were certainly the underdogs for this clash, facing the regularly 2nd place Paris Saint-Germain of France in a league that is just as competitive as the WSL given Olympique Lyonnais are usual champions of France, Europe, and anything else they can touch. That said, PSG did win the league in the 2020/21 season so they're not to be dismissed as second fiddle.

PSG started brightly and, like many teams, tried to bully United's right back Hannah Blundell, who is still adapting to life in Ona Batlle's vacant position. Manchester United hung on, defending neatly and with a few clutch moments from Mary Earps, and countered well through the likes of Galton, Geyse and Garcia.

It wasn't until the second half that the deadlock was broken, with a tidy ball over the top reaching loanee forward Tabitha Chawinga. Starlet Maya Le Tissier will be disappointed with her marking, and neither Maya or Millie Turner were able to catch up with the Malawian who then coolly slotted past Earps to make it 1-0.

United held on though, with Geyse and Galton linking up well and narrowly missing out on an equaliser, but introduction of Malard from the bench saw the French prospect bag her second goal in two sub appearances - a good way to stay on Mark Skinner's radar and received with a huge roar by Leigh Sports Village.

From there, United and PSG battled more in a very end to end affair, but the pace slowed down as the energy levels dwindled. Hinata seemed to give United a bit more threat and even the tie out overall, and manager Skinner may consider utilising the Japanese international more going forward as an alternative to Hayley Ladd and Lisa Naalsund given just how impactful she was.

Aside a questionable decision not to award United a penalty for a foul on Geyse, the match didn't see too many opportunities for either side to win out and ended in a fair 1-1 draw. The challenge now is to cause an upset in Paris (that isn't bedbugs) and qualify for the Champions League proper.

Truth be told, even if United had lost it's not game over with one match remaining, and to be at the point of playing this two-leg qualifier after only returning to women's football six years ago is a huge testament to the work of the players and staff involved in the team. They are the lifeblood that drives the club forward and their passion, desire, and loyalty means everything.

Just imagine where they could be if we had owners who cared eh... their matches might even be IN Manchester.

Top women’s footballers in Europe

Women’s football became, since a few years now, more publicized, more important, and follow by more peoples. The last world cup in France in 2019, the last European championship in England the last summer, or the introduction of the women golden ball in 2018, are the examples who can show that there is a real evolution in the world of the women’s football. 

With this ascension of the women’s football, and the “Ballon d’Or” won by Alexia Putellas last Monday, we can focus about the 5 best female footballers in Europe last year. 

 

5- Wendy Renard ( Olympique Lyonnais ) 

The French defender was a major artisan of the Lyon Champion’s League victory last year. For her 16th season with the club, she won her 8th Champions, and her 15th French championship, she included in the team of the year of these 2 competitions. Captain of the French selection, she also takes them to the semifinals of the European championship last summer, their first semifinals since the 2011 world cup, before losing against Deutschland. 

 

4- Catarina Macario ( Olympique Lyonnais ) 

 

 

 

Another Lyon player, another winner of the Champions League, that she finished as the third top scorer of the competition, with 9 goals. Like her teammate Wendy Renard, she won everything with Lyon last year. 13 goals in the Championship, 2nd top scorer behind Marie Antoinette Katoto, the American midfielder included the team of the year of the championship. Unfortunately, she was touch at the knee at the end of the season, in June, and is working to come back at her better level, with the world cup in perspective with USA at the end of the season. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3 – Sam Keer ( Chelsea FC ) 

Classified at the third place of the last Golden Ball last Monday, the Chelsea Australian striker won for another year the Women’s Super League, by finishing as top scorer for the second year in a row, with 21 goals in 20 games. She’s by the way the highest paid player since 2019, and her signature for Chelsea. We’re now going to see if she can do better, collectively by winning the champions League, or individually by winning the Ballon d’or. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 – Marie Antoinette Katoto ( Paris Saint Germain ) 

 

The young PSG striker ( only 23 years old ), did again an incredible season with Paris Saint Germain. Only classified 17th at the last ballon d’or, she helped PSG to reach the semifinals of the last Champions League, by scoring 7 goals. She also finished the French championship with 21 goals. Like her compatriot Wendy Renard, she has reached the semifinals of the European championship, but suffered of a knee injury during the competition. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 - Alexia Putellas ( Barcelona FC ) 

Who else to conclude this ranking that the winner, for the second year in a row, of the Ballon d’Or, Alexia Putellas. The offensive Spanish midfielder lost the Champions League final with Barcelona, but finished top scorer of the competition, with 11 goals. She won an historical Spain championship ( 30 wins in 30 games ) , by finishing 3rd best top scorer with 18 goals, and best assister with 15 assists. She obviously included the championship and champions league team of the years. She didn’t play the European championship with Spain, due of a knee injury, just before the beginning of the championship, but won anyway the Ballon d’Or, thanks to an incredible season.

La séance spéciale du SDRIF-E : aménagement du territoire !

mon compte rendu subjectif du conseil régional du 11 septembre 2024, spécial SDRIF

Valérie Pécresse commence la séance exceptionnelle consacrée au SDRIF par une introduction d’autosatisfaction et de distribution de remerciement comme aux Césars sur les JO ! Alors qu’elle ne voulait pas des questions d’actualité des groupes d’opposition et qu’elle a ajouté au dernier moment 3 motions à l’ordre du jour. La démocratie à la mode Pécresse !

Elle présente le SDRIF-E qui est le schéma d’aménagement du territoire de la région. C’est un document donc très important qui est au-dessus de tous les documents d’urbanisme et d’occupation des sols. Elle parle de la “Région des 20 minutes” (chaque Francilien doit avoir accès aux services utiles à moins de 20 minutes) mais avec bien peu de mesures pour y arriver, de “bouclier rural” plutôt que de lutte contre l'artificialisation des sols, des “nouvelles polarités” plutôt que de rééquilibrage des territoires, de création de logements mais surtout pas sociaux, de nouvelles routes encore plutôt que des transports fiables… 

On commence par une motion contre la baisse de la vitesse sur le Bd périphérique.

La droite se lâche et Pécresse ose même dire que c’est une mesure “antisociale” (elle perd son sang froid !) Le PS intervient en rappelant qu’il y a bien plus d’usagers des transports qui galèrent que d’usagers du périphérique. Bizarre LFI s’abstient ! Évidemment nous rappelons que le périph v'est 500 000 riverains qui subissent bruit et pollution. 

Une motion anti LNPN est portée par l’exécutif. La LNPN, c’est la Ligne Nouvelle Paris Normandie, une ligne ferroviaire qui vise entre autres à améliorer la circulation des trains entre Paris et Mantes, pour les voyageurs mais aussi pour le fret. Les élus de droite des Yvelines sont vent debout contre. La motion fait un inventaire d’arguments fallacieux. In fine la droite préfère l’autoroute A13/A14 au rail ! Sur l’artificialisation des sols de cette nouvelle ligne, nous pensons qu’on peut trouver une solution avec un tracé proche de l’autoroute. 

Une motion prône la création de nouvelles places de prison en IDF, se plaçant ainsi dans le tout-carcéral, oubliant que la surpopulation carcérale est essentiellement due aux détentions préventives. Dommage que certains groupes de gauche votent pour. D’autant que ces projets de prisons se font au détriment des zones agricoles ou naturelles.

Le SDRIF-E qui est présenté est la version définitive, le projet a été voté en juillet 2023 et a fait l’objet d’une enquête publique, mais vraiment à minima , avec une seule et unique réunion publique pour toute l’Ile de France. Certains mairies et partenaires ont été entendus, mais pas les associations qui défendent l’environnement !

Un amendement de l’exécutif reprend par ci par là des propositions des groupes, mais c’est très très insuffisant. Un autre amendement de l’exécutif prévoit une enveloppe de 50 hectares pour le déménagement du PSG (cadeau au Qatar qui veut quitter le Parc des Princes qu'il ne peut privatiser ?) ; un des terrains envisagés à St Quentin en Y prévoit d’artificialiser une zone agricole. On vote contre.

On passe aux amendements des groupes politiques.

Les nôtres : revoir la trajectoire ZAN Zéro artificialisation nette, pour le ZAB (le zéro artificialisation brut, ce qui évite les compensations alibis), pour une politique en faveur de l’hébergement d’urgence, pour une vraie stratégie lycée dans les territoires, pour en finir avec les “villes dissociées”, pour le tramway T11, pour protéger les populations des zones d’épandage phytosanitaire, pour interdire les méga bassines en IDF, la reconversion de l’aéroport du Bourget, et d’autres amendements plus localisés (où nous reprenons les luttes des associations : Haropaport, BIP, Gonesse, Ligne 17…)  etc (une soixantaine ! ). Tous rejetés.

Quelques gros débats : 

Sur notre amendement commun gauche-écolo sur l’imposition de 30% de logements sociaux dans les communes de plus de 3500 habitants, gros débat gauche/droite ; la droite alignant les discours anti logements sociaux, justifiant le non-respect de la loi SRU… En réalité le SDRIF-E de V. Pécresse, c’est la norme dite anti-ghetto qui dissuade de la création de logements sociaux.

Nous défendons des objectifs ambitieux de réduction de la consommation des espaces agricoles et naturels. Au contraire, la droite et en particulier les Maires de droite défendent leur droit à bétonner !

Le Vice -président qualifie même le ZAB (zéro artificialisation brute) de “décliniste” ! 

La droite est particulièrement remontée sur la proposition de reconversion de l’aéroport du Bourget et nous sert l’argument encore des 10 000 emplois supprimés (mais d’où ça sort ?). Ah l’ancien monde n’est pas prêt à affronter la bifurcation écologique !

A noter : les élus de droite au lieu de chanter les louanges de V. Pécresse, se sont plutôt positionnés sur les amendements de la gauche et des écolos ; avantage : cela met en avant de vrais débats politiques, là où on avait auparavant à chaque proposition, la même réponse : “avis défavorable de l’exécutif”.
