#psychonauts 2 mod release
Text
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, well, I've uploaded it to GameBanana if y'all want to use it for yourself. I've written about some problems in the mods' description, but I'm done with it for now.
There's a 'readme' file to help anyone who hasn't used mods for Psychonauts 2 before. (Or really, most Unreal Engine 4 games).
Time to go back to the Psychonauts 1 Randomizer.

A pitch idea on a game project I'm working on!
Tumblr media
Hi there, my name is SlackerArtist and I am the creator on an indie game I'm working on called "Doodle Madness: Shattered Memories"
So... what in the fresh hell even is Doodle Madness: Shattered Memories anyway? Well my fellow compadre let me tell you on what the game is (along with some art work too)
This image below for example is a mock up on what I would want to have as a character select screen by the way, giving it that arcade select screen feel to it!
Tumblr media
The game is essentially an upcoming 2D platformer filled with exploration, combat and most importantly... comedy, it takes heavy inspirations to the game's that were released in the 4th, 5th, 6th and even 8th generation of systems.
And with the inspirations, comes from the many different games that inspired it, and these games are:
Mickey Mania, Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, Ducktales Remastered, Super Mario World, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Wario Land 4, Sonic Mania, the UbiArt Rayman games, Go! Go! Kokopolo, the LittleBigPlanet series, Crash Bandicoot 4, Rabbids Go Home, Psychonauts 2, Persona 4 Golden, Miitopia, Runner3, Hextech Mayhem, Mad Rat Dead, Devil May Cry, Sunset Overdrive and the Disney Infinity series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The idea on the game's story is that everyone's memories are planned to be taken away from a so called "King of the Space Pirates" named Lord Commander Xander so he can use it to power a machine to rule on not only the world... but the entire universe, so to save everything at all costs, a ragtag group of individuals lead by Johnathan McCamperbelt must journey from their home country, The Grasslands and beyond to fully stop him once and for all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do plan on adding in stuff into the game, like exploring over 15 locations that includes a hub area, playing as over a total of 15 characters, a dedicated combat system with a move list for the characters to attack either the enemies or the player for that cartoony slapstick feel to it, 22 weapons to use in combat, different transformations, each with their own positive and negative effect, an RPG levelling system where the characters can level up and can unlock new moves in their own unique skill tree,
While that it is mainly going to be a comedy focused game, the game will get quite emotional in certain scenes that I won't tell you just yet, but you will see soon enough.
I do have stuff planned for the game after it's release like doing content updates, like adding in the different game modes such as a gender swap mode similarly to how it worked with Shovel Knight but with a dating sim mechanic and a battle arena mode that would be a fighting game, modding support via using Steam Workshop support, adding more characters, more color skins, a level editor, the introduction of both costume skins and gadgets and lastly... brand new story content titled "Doodle Madness: Side-Stories"
I have been creating and gathering ideas Doodle Madness: Shattered Memories for about 4+ years and it is becoming one of the most ambitious projects I'm ever creating and that will take years to get it done, it was originally going to be an RPG using RPGMaker MV, but then decided to turn it into a 2D platformer instead using Gamemaker Studio 2!

((Mod, something you might find interesting: you said once that you were originally planning to leave Sora dead, but then you decided that was too depressing for Yoruko, so you brought Sora back as an AI so Sora and Yoruko could be together. You might enjoy hearing that the recently released Psychonauts 2 did something similar: instead of burying a gay, it RESURRECTED a gay, like how you resurrected Sora. Anon can't give you further details without spoilers, but I thought you'd like to know.))
//I don’t know Psychonauts, but I do approve of resurrecting gays : P

My Game Awards thoughts
I'm not going to cover everything that happened but I am going to go over some news breaks, my thoughts on the ceremony as a whole, some announcements we got/ ones we didn't, and maybe some "entitled gamer rage" just cause I can.
results for the awards here
The Xbox Series X announcement was unexpected but it is a nice jab from Microsoft to get the idea of the console in the minds of people even if it's just the physical look alongside what I can only assume was supposed to display its power and graphic fidelity. The ball is in Sony's court, I can't wait to see what they come up with. I suspect E3 2020 will be when we get something similar to what Microsoft did but maybe even bigger since they've had the time to work on it by then.
Let's stay on Microsoft for a minute cause that Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 trailer was... a trip. If Microsoft keeps this up I'm definitely going to have a difficult choice to make come holiday 2020. The tone and visuals of the trailer as a whole are disturbing and gorgeous all at the same time. I was captivated the entire time and love the more psychological/mythological mesh they're really diving into. I literally had to go and watch it before I moved on to other topics while writing this.
That shark game Man Eater got another trailer, I am kind of surprised that hasn't come out yet. Not hyped or anything but I mean it does look like fun the way Untitled Goose Game does. Woooah here she comes (sorry couldn't help myself).
No More Heroes 3 coming out with the big weird trailer. Seriously I was so intrigued and caught off-guard. Touche Nintendo, every day you bring me closer to getting a Switch. Bastards.
GodFall a self-proclaimed "slasher-looter" action rpg by Gearbox Productions dropped a vague, but beautiful, cinematic teaser. It also subtly drops that it will come to PS5 and PC. This is the first mention/marketing for the PS5 at all, and it's through a short CGI trailer that tells us nothing. Weird.
Ghost of Tsushima got a great cinematic/ gameplay trailer that was teased at the State of Play event Sony just had. It was entertaining and gorgeous but I need more gameplay, still very interested.
Sons of the Forest This is interesting because it appears to be a very interesting step forward after The Forest's 2014 release. Definitely leaning into the blend of mysticism and body horror with the new trailer emphasizing on a sexually confusing four-legged woman and several fleshy faceless husks clearly intended to be enemies. I gotta try The Forest especially if this one fulfills the fantastical horror it advertises.
Control not only won Best Art Direction and was nominated for many more awards, but they also dropped new content. Bless. Expeditions are a new repeatable mission type that sends you into a Jukebox (if you've played it you'll bear with me here) where you can get new and high-grade mods as well as an outfit. This requires you to scavenge the world for the coins that get you into the...Jukebox...world place. The rewards seem meager, like what is going to keep me coming once I beat the highest tier and get the outfit? That said, it's a nice reason to pop Control back in and boy is it nice, even better with the patches that improve performance and finally let the game flow the way it's supposed to. I wish it was a little deeper and maybe there's more to it than we know now, but it's clear that this is supposed to hold players over until the first DLC drops. Not a complaint, more of a matter of fact.
Wolf Among Us 2 was announced...interesting... I guess they really are pushing that whole "TellTale is back" thing huh. We'll see, they can't afford to fuck that up. It's clear this is a tactical move to build hype and get people wanting that game they've been wanting since 2013. Why not come back with the one game you know anyone who cares about "TellTale" will, therefore, care about? Makes sense to me, don't fuck it up new guys.
Where the fuck was my Batman announcement? The Harry Potter rpg that we know is in development? BioMutant, where the hell is that game? There are so many games in development and some even close to release that really could use some shine on a stage like this. Since I'm out to prove a point: Last of Us 2? Marvel's Avengers? RE3? Dying Light 2? Vampire Masquerade 2? Watch Dogs Legion? Psychonauts 2? Moons of Madness? Digimon Survive? Since we're so focussed on turning back time (more on that later). OddWorld? Little Nightmares 2? I hope my disgustingly exacerbated point is made, we could've had so much more. One or two of any of those games would've made it way much better.
My point is if I'm Geoff Keighley and I'm ending one of the biggest broadcasted gaming-related events of the year and it ends with a FAST AND THE FURIOUS GAME? You bet your ass I'm taking however much Google paid for all those bullshit (though entertaining) Stadia commercials and I'm sweetening the pot for Sony, Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, WB Montreal, Capcom, literally anyone for an exclusive news drop of some kind. I'm sure any of those studios could've been persuaded in the name of publicity and hype and could've met/exceeded the excitement levels for a Fast and the Furious game. Fucking pathetic, is this 2009? Did you see those graphics?
Also...Green Day...? Seriously did I wake up in 2009 and no one told me? You have CHVRCHES on stage, you're handing out awards to bands and composers, you have a full orchestra for more musical numbers than even I'd care for...and you thought Green Day should be the headliner. I understand it was more of a personal choice by Geoff since he's a big fan but fucking hell go to a show don't subject us to it.
All in all, this night was pretty underwhelming with some flashes of entertainment strewn throughout. Yes, you have huge moments like Microsoft announcing the Series X, but when those are followed by minutes of Stadia commercials, moments like "Teh ken" and "This is gaming it's supposed to be free. Free love," and the myriad of obscure and nothing announcements it really shows that there are just some demons this award show can't seem to shake. No, I don't expect full gameplay reveals and walkthroughs but there is a middle ground between twelve-second trailers for new IPs and full-on presentations.
Ikumi Nakamura was there so I'm gonna start demanding she appears at all Game awards/ presentations thank you very much.
edit: all this ranting bullshit and I never mention that in my opinion, I think DMC5 should've taken GOTY. I totally understand why Sekiro won because it's great. It's deep, beautiful, visceral, rewarding; but so is DMC5. What tipped the scale was how much fun I had playing DMC5 and no Sekiro isn't for conventional "fun" but I thoroughly enjoyed DMC more and that really is what it boils down to when everything else is so evenly matched.

Games with on-screen kisses
Should be considered story spoilers (except for maybe dating sims), so browse at your own peril.
On-screen means a visible kiss on the lips, in-engine, cutscene or, in the case of visual novels, CG art. Games with descriptions of kisses in text only do not count.
This is far from complete but I think I’ve got most of the obvious ones, as always, suggestions and corrections encouraged (but no suggestions for games featuring unavoidable rape please).
I could really use more examples for the M/M only section as it’s currently mostly porn games in there (where all the smoochy games at?). :/
M/F:
Akatsuki No Goei (M/F)(Hentai game)(CG)(Translation patch)
Always Remember Me (Otome CG)
Alpha Protocol (Several kisses with optional romances as leads into fade-to-black sex scenes.)

ef - a fairy tale of the two (dating sim, cg art)
Enchanted in the Moonlight (CG)
Fahrenheit aka Indigo Prophecy (Two optional, one unskippable, two leading into terrible sex scenes, one of which involves QTE thrusting, because of course it does it’s David Cage.)
Final Fantasy VIII (Rinoa and Squall finally smooch in the ending cutscene)
Final Fantasy X (Story cutscene while flying around in a magical lake, very Japanese.)
Final Fantasy XIII (Snow and Sera)
Final Fantasy XV (Noctis and Luna)
GoldenEye (James Bond and Natalya)
Hakuōki Franchise (Otome game)(CG)

KatawaShoujo (Hentai game, CG art)
Kissed by the baddest bidder (CG)
LEGO Batman (Batman and Catwoman)

The Tea Times - June 2019
It’s June now and that means I have to do this column a bit differently. I could do the usual news stuff but then I’d be ignoring the nine-thousand foot elephant in the room: E3. So, instead, I’m going to devote this section to going through some choice announcements. There are a lot, so I’m only going to mention the ones that interest me directly. In other words: I’m not going to talk about Madden.
You can check out the full list of everything announced here.
The Cast
Microsoft
Bethesda
Devolver Digital
The PC Gaming Show
Ubisoft
Square Enix
Nintendo
EA
Microsoft
“Project Scarlett”, Holiday 2020 - Microsoft are bringing out a new console it seems, which will probably have a snappier title by the time its released. It has the usual marketing bumpf, talking about setting the bar for performance and so on. It does have a few confirmed moves, including an SSD and 8k capability. Presumably, the cost is going to reflect that.
Halo Infinite, Holiday 2020 - “Project Scarlett”’s flagship title, the trailer shows us a man in a spot of bother on a spaceship. Things have gone south but before long, Master Chief is awakened to try and sort things out. I’ve not played many Halo games but the prospect of a custom built engine is very interesting. More exciting, from my point of view, is that it will apparently be coming to PC as well. Maybe it’s time I looked back into the series, eh?
Borderlands 2 Gets Some Free DLC - I’ve talked about Borderlands 3 before, so instead I’ll quickly mention that Borderlands 2 has gotten some free DLC called Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary. It’s small and fairly slapdash but it’s free and bridges the gap between Borderlands 2 and 3.
Cyberpunk 2077 Launches 2020 - The long awaited CD Projekt RED title has a release date: April 16th 2020. It’s now available for pre-order. Included in the package is one (1) Keanu Reeves, who is a breathtaking man.
Blair Witch, August 30 - One of my favourite films is getting a video game, yay! It’s made by Bloober Team. Oh. They are the makers of Layers of Fear, which was resoundingly ‘meh’. No doubt this game will be force fed jump scares and the trailer does not give me hope. The Blair Witch Project probably shouldn’t be a game in the first place, to be honest, and the less said about the remake the better. Still, Bloober Team did well with Observer, so you never know. Worth a look, maybe, but don’t expect too much.
Gears 5, September 10 - Another series I’m not really into (and actively disliked in the case of the first one) but if it’s your cup of tea, the fifth installment is coming later this year.
Elden Ring announced - FromSoftware’s new Pain-Em-Up has an interesting twist - it’s co-created by George R.R. Martin, author of A Song of Ice and Fire. Presumably so he can put off writing the series some more. It’s an interesting mashup and the announcement trailer doesn’t give too much away. One to watch.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps, February 11 2020 - A sequel to the wonderful and beautiful Ori and the Blind Forest (which I actually need to play more of) is coming out next year and the trailer opens with a big, scary spider. Not entirely what I was expecting but I'll be damned if it doesn’t look good. The movement, and animations, look great too. One to look at if you’re into your platformers.
image
Psychonauts 2 - I never played much Psychonauts but the trailer does a good job of emanating its signature humour, with some tuned up gameplay. It’s 3D platforming, which may be a bit awkward, but it’s Doublefine back where they belong.
Tales of Arise, 2020 - The latest in the Tales series is coming out next year and is coming to PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. An extremely popular series, which I’ve had some fun with over the years, this one is apparently going to ‘mark a new beginning for the famed JRPG franchise’. It remains unclear what exactly that means.
Tumblr media
Bethesda
DOOM Eternal, November 22 - My biggest ‘must buy’ this year. I’m not sure why it really needs a ‘story’ trailer of all things but it looks fun as hell and I cannot wait to jump back into hell. Looks like Doomguy might be having a bit of a humanity crisis but as long as he can still shoot and hit things, we’re good.
GhostWire: Tokyo - An unusual name for an unusual looking game, featuring disappearing people and a cool looking man with a bow and arrow. Not entirely sure what it’s going to be about, but you need to face down the occult with some spectral abilities. And attack the unknown of course, whatever that means.
DEATHLOOP - An interesting looking game about two assassins that are caught in a loop, killing each other over and over again. Not entirely sure whether this is single or multi-player or what, but the premise is fantastic. Time will tell, I guess.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood, July 26 - A co-op Wolfenstein was a bit of a shock but not unwelcome. Set in 80s Paris, you play as BJ’s twin daughters who are trying to find their missing dad. It’s apparently supposed to be pretty open and it looks just as mad as the previous games. Plus the trailer is set to Carpenter Brut, which is a huge positive in my book.
Fallout 76 - Nuclear Winter - Bethesda are jogging after the departing train with their own Battle Royale game. Not sure who asked for it, but here it is. Given that it’s likely using the same engine, I wouldn’t expect too much from it. It is free though, so you can’t give it too much flak.
Devolver Digital
Carrion, 2020 - There was actually only one Devolver Digital game that interested me and it was this one. It’s a ‘reverse horror game’, which means you control a strange amorphous creature, consuming hordes of screaming scientists, while trying not to be shot. The premise has a lot of potential.
The PC Gaming Show
Shenmue III, November 19 - The kickstarted sequel to the franchise has become the latest to be snapped up by Epic Games, as it’s now an exclusive. This, understandably, annoyed kickstarter backers who were expecting a steam key. I can’t say much on the game itself, as I know nothing about the series, but the sheer amount of ire against it probably isn’t going to do it any favours.
Chivalry 2 announced, Early 2020 - coming Early 2020, the first-person medieval combat game is launching first on the Epic Games store, because what isn’t these days? It looks very pretty but otherwise it’s usual Chivalry fare. For the order, indeed.
Midnight Ghost Hunt - One of the most interesting titles for me, it looks reminiscent of Prop Hunt from Garry’s Mod, only now the props can fight back. Having a chair launched at your head seems like it would be a common risk when you’re a Ghostbuster. It looks very interesting and I do hope I get into the alpha when it launches.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall, August 6th - An interesting looking 4X game that has a faction that rides dinosaurs, which means I’m down already. I have a love for 4X games and this one seems to be a bit more action-packed than most. Definitely one to check out, once I can meet the price tag.
Valfaris, 2019 - A heavy metal infused platformer is one of those things that seems so simple in hindsight that you wonder why it hasn’t been properly done before. The trailer looks decidedly old school and appropriately exciting. The pixel art style looks great and it looks like it’s going to have a cracking soundtrack.
Songs of Conquest  - Another game that deeply interests me because of its similarity to the Heroes of Might and Magic series - which is currently being mishandled by Ubisoft. The trailer has a weird poem/song being read over it, which was unexpected, but it looks very promising.
Maneater - Truly, who wouldn’t want to be a giant shark? Maneater appears to give us that opportunity, with a trailer full of shark destruction. Just an announcement at the moment but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look fun.
Tumblr media
Ubisoft
Watch Dogs: Legion, March 6th 2020 - The new Watch_Dogs set in Blighty has a name and a man with a pig mask on. It opens with a shot of Big Ben too, so you know it’s London. It’s also post-Brexit too by the looks of it, given how everything has broken down. The narration is also perfectly British. ‘It’s all gone a bit shit’, is something I’d say. While I’m not a great lover of the franchise, the setting and narration are making me a lot more interested. Plus it features an old woman with a sailor’s mouth and a pistol.
Rainbow Six Quarantine, Early 2020 - In a not-so-strange move, Rainbow Six has gone cooperative again. More strange is that it’s trying to be a horror game, having you and two friends fighting against a mutated alien parasite that infects human hosts. Apparently it will give an unpredictable player-versus-enemy experience, which makes me wonder if it’s a bit like Left 4 Dead’s AI director. We’ll see.
Gods & Monsters, February 25 2020 - An interesting title that gives absolutely nothing away. It’s set in Greek mythology as you fight mythological creatures to save Greek Gods. It looks bloody beautiful but we have no idea what it actually is.
Square Enix
Oninaki, August 22 - There wasn’t much Square Enix-wise that interested me but Oninaki caught my eye. It looks fantastic for one thing. The story also has some interesting notes, being about someone who ushers in ‘Lost Souls’ into the next world. Combat looks fun too, very fast paced and, once again, very pretty.
Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers - While I’m not really a fan of the series, I can’t really just skip past Square Enix’s flagship series. Not knowing anything about XIV, the trailer doesn’t give away too much but it does look remarkably pretty. Watch and see for yourself.
Dragon Quest Builders 2, July 12 - Only played the demo of the first one, but it was interesting. A blend of Dragon Quest and Minecraft, of all things; it all worked rather well. The sequel is bigger and better too, as the very excitable man yells at us in the trailer. While the art style has always struck me as a little creepy, and the narration isn’t doing that any favours, the core gameplay is interesting. You can build things, craft things and hit things. Plus, cars! A demo comes out on June 27th.
Tumblr media
Nintendo
Breath of the Wild is getting a sequel - Breath of the Wild set the world on fire, so it was only natural. Less natural is the seeming darker tone of the sequel, which the series has occasionally delved into. As a fan of darker tones, I’m all about this. Hey, maybe I should actually play more of the original.
Luigi’s Mansion 3, This Year - I loved Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, so I’m happy to step back into the shoes of the world’s best Ghostbuster. He’s invited to a hotel, which looks nice but quickly gets full of ghosts. Gameplay seems broadly the same, with a few new moves. You can slam ghosts around as well as fire plungers. And of course, there’s ‘Gooigi’. He’s made of Goo. Why? God knows. It’s professor Egad after all. It does make for co-op, however.
Fire emblem: Three Houses, July 26th - The latest in the Fire Emblem series marches on to the Switch this summer. The story trailer shows old school friends going at it, against their wishes, by the looks of it. It’s all extremely anime. No actual gameplay yet, but I imagine it’ll be usual Fire Emblem fare.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, March 20th 2020 - This one turned a few heads, being the premier chill-out video game series of all time. New Horizons looks fantastic, and high definition Tom Nook is still fleecing you for every penny you have. You can relax in a tent and craft up tools to help you change your island getaway into an island paradise.
Empire of Sin, 2020 - For a complete change of tone, we have Empire of Sin. Set in 1920s Chicago, you can probably guess what you’re going to be doing. It’s a strategy game where you carve out your own criminal empire, fighting back other bosses while you do so. It looks interesting and comes with turn based combat for when you need to get your hands dirty. I can’t wait to use those Tommy guns.
EA
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, November 11th - There’s a lot of potential in Star Wars games and Fallen Order certainly looks the part. Just moving around looks entertaining before you get to all of the lightsaber and force power stuff. Of course, your enemies are about as accurate as they usually are but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look fun.
Sims 4: Island living, June 21st - Sims 4 has come out with its new big pack which features things such as Mermaids. They make actual dolphin-esque squeaks, which is rather unnerving. My other half has been playing it and it does look rather fun, if seeing mermaids lounge in the bath is your kind of thing.
That’s all for this year’s E3. Join me in July to see what kind of fallout we’ll be getting from these announcements!

Your posts about modding are really cool Question how did you get to use the unused texts i mean which program was used to put them in game and how you made that mod with raz hair for all outfits?
-Mr.Anon
Thanks! I love modding games, sometimes I do it before I even finish a playthrough of a game!
So, for the first one, for Psychonauts mods, I use Astralathe to input the unused text into the text. As for the text itself, there was a 2015 Steam patch release that had all the scripts and textures decompiled; we use those for mods. In order to download this, you gotta open up the Steam console window, which you can do by pressing <Win + R> to open the windows command window and paste 'steam://open/console' into the box and press enter. With the Steam Console window open, paste 'download_depot 3830 3831 5429041424453266562' into the window and wait for it to download. It'll take a while, but the dialog window will announce when the download is complete. You can then find the contents of this manifest within the 'content' folder of steamapps from your Steam folder. (This manifest also includes various document files as well.) [An easier way to get here is just right click a game in your Steam library, press 'Properties', click 'Installed Files' and then 'Browse'. This will open up the game's folder, just back out to the 'steamapps' folder and press 'content'.]
As for the Psychonauts 2 mod I made with Raz's hair for all the outfits, that kinda goes along with some guides I wrote a little while ago, namely the Model Replacement guide, though instead of replacing a model, I deleted the helmet mesh and then imported the hair mesh from the Raz_Intro model, deleted the body mesh of that model and attached the hair mesh to the other outfits.
