why do i feel so fucken judged when it comes to video games???????? like constantly????? i’m alone in my room. i have 2 friends on steam, one of whom hasn’t logged on in literally over three years and the other one is fme, and either way my profile is set to maximum privacy. i know fme wouldn’t judge me tastewise OR skillwise even though i’m way worse. it doesn’t even matter that i suck. i have embraced my awful scattershot taste in ALL OTHER MEDIA except for games. music? the playlist i’m currently listening to is a mix of showtunes & rap & early 2000s punk & weird indie bands, and i honestly considered posting it to both my active blogs for the holiday. tv & movies? i have seen a grand total of two (2) movies in theater in the past four years, and the only show i watch anymore is american ninja warrior. comix? he’ll yeah give me all that stupid girl shit. books? fuck off i actually have really great taste in books

but i’m fucking agonizing over my steam wishlist right now because what if somebody sees what i’m buying & thikns it’s dumb. the indie titles are childish and/or pretentious. the AAA titles are overrated and/or douchey. puzzles are bad. rpgs are bad. platformers are bad. fps are bad. it’s okay to like story-driven games, but none of the stories that caught my eye are worth the bytes theyre printed on. i am feeling actual shame bc i seriously considered buying something but then like 2/20 reviewers on the first page thought it was poorly written.

and this isn’t even TOUCHING my insecurity about my game skills or my complex about spending money or the pervasive sense that i don’t deserve to have fun or my weird intense fear of not enjoying somethng that i paid for
