I have several custom Pullips by Solarsenshi/HimeHimedolls and all of them are gorgeous. I have a particular love for this specific doll, Mamiko. Mamiko was the artist’s personal doll and was built out of scraps so she’d have a doll to take with her when she moved to a new country. I was happy to give Mamiko a new home and have loved her since she joined my collection.

Usually I have this doll in a peach wig and pastel colors but since it is autumn I decided to try a darker wig and earth tones and I think the result is super cute:

Finally re-wigged Rosalind last night! It's just a crappy aliexpress one (please ignore those messy af ends lol), but I really prefer the way that the middle part frames her face. Plus it shows off her makeup and blushing more!

I also had to cut several other of my pullips wigs to make them more manageable and playable. I can manage waves, but I suck so much at maintaining doll curls 💀

MIO Pullip: Lalaloopsy Scarlet Riding Hood

I decided to take another stab at customizing a doll. This time I got my first Make it Own Pullip kit. I was afraid I’d botch up the face if I tried to draw on one of these dolls (I’ve seen some dolls that look really rough up close), but I guess I got over it.

In the kit you basically have to fill in the facial details on your doll with your own non-oil based tools such as chalk pastels, watercolor pencils, and acrylic paint and then assemble the head yourself. You also have to use a good sealant between applications. Then you supply your own wig and clothing and accessories.

The kit comes with blank eyes you can paint yourself but I decided to use actual buttons since this was going to be a Lala. She has a subtle faceup, as a Lala would, except her cheeks are super subtle too. In retrospect I wish I had gone more colorful with the makeup. I painted the eyelids red, and hooked the head together, and that was that. For her outfit I did a combination of buying things like her wig, dress, and shoes and sewing her hooded cape and red skirt, and a couple of things I already had.

She was supposed to look more like the mini than the large when it comes to the hood and skirt, but none the less I still have an oversized hairbow. It’s a bit much though, especially along with the ribbons covering the rubber bands on her ponytails. it’s like hair bow overload.

Why is her cape polkadot on the inside? Because her skirt fabric came packed with other prints and I thought it would be more interesting than plain red.

There are parts I want to add or change, like maybe make her a white petticoat, add some pockets to her skirt, some lace around her hood and cape and the heart patch on the back, smaller ribbons on her hair and some on the front of her shirt. I may even take her head apart again and had some more color to her face. If I don’t make those changes, at least did what I set out to do and made a Scarlet doll.

Well that is sad news about Pullip Style, they were one of the OG North American Pullip dealers back in the day.

Sooooo I couldn’t help myself and added this Pluto Pullip to my collection!! I have 7 in total now (my Princess Serenity and Small Lady ones aren’t pictured here). I also just bought a used Sailor Venus Pullip who will be here soon!

Most of these dolls are from a store called Pullip Style! The guy behind the store is sadly closing up shop because of production issues, but on the bright side he’s selling a bunch of Sailor Moon Pullip dolls at heavily discounted prices. 

Anyway, needless to say I'm addicted to Pullip dolls now, lol. I'm going to save up to get a second custom doll made (the first is the blonde doll in pink, who is my OC Erina).
