Saw a tweet saying this album was the second best atl album next to WUS. Babes, WUS wasn’t even their best album that year and it was their only one that year.

I may be insane… But, I think there was definitely an evolution…LYR is about Jack’s and Alex‘s complicated feelings… I think wake up sunshine is Alex professing how much he loves him. And I think tell me I’m alive is how much he struggles to be who he wants to be with Jack… but he can’t be. 

I am down for all of this and want to believe it with everything in me, dude. I think there’s a definitive Jalex song on every single album (I think anyway maybe not puosu and I’m not totally sold on swir buuut I could be swayed). The last two albums tho…they are so obvious it hurts.

I just watched an interview and its really sad seeing the guys denouncing The Party Scene again. I love that album and I only started listening to them in 2017. Every now and then I go back and do a full listen through. It’s so great, the prelude and interlude create a cool atmosphere (and honestly I wish they did something like that now, it would be way more creative than what they do now), I love some of the unconventional song structures that also don’t feel like the song has been cut short (verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus is not the only way to write a song) and I prefer most of these recordings to the PUOSU versions because they feel more raw; you can feel the emotion in Lullabies. I understand they might not be fans of some of the lyrics but honestly every time I listen to it I get transported to the life of a seventeen year old Alex and that’s awesome. And let’s be honest most of the lyrics on that record are way better than ‘I’m messy, I’m reckless, I fuck shit up for breakfast’. There is just an overall feeling of anticipation oozing from the album. Every time I hear the harmonies on the line ‘run like hell’ during We Say Summer, it gets me. Cool tempo changes in the middle of songs, the guitar riffs! I wouldn’t ask them to perform the songs now but at least don’t disregard them. I hate when artists shit on their earlier work. They presented LYR as their 7th album, WUS as their 8th album during interviews at the time and now they are getting technical that TMIA is their 8th album because TPS doesn’t count. Honestly there are more embarrassing lyrics on TMIA than The Party Scene !!

I really don’t get why they disregard that as if it isn’t a full fledged, thoughtful album with all the same members. Being ~signed doesn’t make that not real and IA it’s a petty mindset. That’s you ya dopes.

even back when i had the BIGGEST crush on Alex Gaskarth when i was in 8th/9th grade, the only good albums that ATL had were SWIR, NP, and the PUOSU EP 😭 (and The Party Scene, but 14 year old me was too lazy to boot up YouTube 90% of the time)

I'm fucking PISSED I didn't get SWIR tickets I was at work and my boss refused to let me leave cause we were swamped I was gonna go to the bathroom and try to buy them but I couldn't and now I'm gonna miss them playing it (they can square the fuck up i can't believe they only announced one show)
