FFVII Prompt #6
Zack escapes from the lab alone - he never saw Cloud there and is certain Cloud died fighting Sephiroth. He manages to get into Midgar without getting caught, taking Cloud's place in the narrative with Avalanche and Aerith.
However, chasing Sephiroth and ending up in Nibelheim, they find Cloud wearing a black robe with the number 00 tattooed on his arm. He doesn't recognize them, just one of the rest following Sephiroth along the way.

Not sure if I've ever posted about this on here but I really like the idea of Sephiroth manually alerting the chemical levels in (puppet) Cloud's brain.
Oh, Cloud is sad all the time? He's miserable and suffering from trauma due to the things I forced him to do? Bam! Raise his serotonin and dopamine levels, can't be sad anymore.
Oh, why did that make him worse? He's hallucinating now...
