the night circus is amazing for fantasy, gone girl if you like thrillers, eleanor&park is a cute but touching YA romance, serena for some cool historical fiction, and ernest hemingway’s collection of short stories  called “in our time” is fantastic.

i looooooved the night circus and eleanor & park! i've heard a lot of good things about gone girl and serena (they're both movies i believe?) and i read a lot about hemmingway but not a lot of his actual stuff which is weird. i will give your recs a look!

What kind of stories do you like the most?

if you're familiar with the secret history by donna tartt that's the kind of book i've been into recently; that pretentious atmospheric kind of book because i've had a lot of bad experiences with contemporary adult books (so i mainly stick to really good ya or old books)

in terms of other books i have a huge spot in my heart for catcher in the rye and lady-centric ya books are my fave

2. speak by laurie halse anderson like.... damn. 3. the family fang by kevin wilson 4. the girl with the pearl earring by tracy chevalier it's stuck w me for two reasons: one, because i read it in ap art history, aka the class that fundamentally changed me on a deep, emotional level and 2. it's brilliantly written and tracy chevalier is fantastic 5. the princess diaries series by meg cabot i am mia thermopolis  6. the bell jar by sylvia plath i am, i am, i am. 7. the outsiders by s.e. hinton this was the first book that i ever cried over and also the first book i ever made a mixtape about and also so so so perfect i love it i love it i love it 8. the song of achilles by madeleine miller i sobbed. i'm still sobbing. i have never stopped sobbing.  9. the harry potter series by jk rowling 10. in cold blood by truman capote my 10th grade english teacher was so into true crime novels and she was obsessed with this book. she was so amazing and the lessons she taught, particularly regarding this book, were so amazing. ok there we go! i tag @favriles mackattackstrikesagain and purpleclogs
