So I (26M) met this girl (22F) who happens to be my cousins best friend. When i first started talking to her she was eccentric that i was giving her attention and messaging her. I made my intentions clear and we began dating.She was never a big texter and she would flake sometimes on dates but overall she defiantly seemed interested to go out. And we did have 4 dates in a month.I would say our dynamic was that we like each other but there wasn't much chemistry. This kind of bothered me because she doesn't text a whole lot and I barely would see her. I began becoming a little insecure and texted her a too much and generally got way too comfortable early on.She started to subtly pull away, still being nice and sending emojis but her response times would start taking very long. I feel like at this point the mystique around me was kind of gone, I had shown my hand.The last date we went on, i felt like we started to actually form a connection but after that is when she got worse with the texting. To the point where she took almost a day to reply to one of my messages with what seemed like a valid excuse. For the record shes never taken more then 4 hrs to reply and we would always send good morning and good night texts.I decided to tell her the truth and that I have recently been acting like a baby because the passing of my gramps and my bday happening at the same time messed with me. I told her i need a few days to clear my mind and get back to who I really am.She seems like she doesn't give a shit her response was, "take as long as u need" with a heart. If she cared wouldn't she of wanted me to explain further?I decided to do this because the ball was really in her court and i was defiantly pushing her away by being too available and rushing into things. I recognized I was becoming too invested too early. Im trying to pull away and stop being so obsessed with her but i don't know if this can be salvaged.Where do i go from here? Should I never message her again, or should I wait a week and gauge her interest? How do I play this out right when I do re-engage her?Thanks, appreciate the replies. via /r/dating_advice
