Some voicelines about our dear [Name] as a playable character of Honkai Star Rail! - Xianzhou Luofu
Tumblr media
Character : Jing Yuan × fem!reader romantically (lovers, husband-wife relations); Yanqing × fem!reader platonically (mother-son relations); Fu Xuan x fem!reader, Qingque x fem!reader, Tingyun x fem!reader, Sushang x fem!reader, Luocha x fem!reader, Yukong x fem!reader - platonically (friends)
□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■
[Author Note]
I did voicelines OF our dear [Name] about the Xianzhou Luofu characters and about Astral Express family, so I decided to make voicelines ABOUT our dear [Name]. My apologies for any typos and/or mistakes, I'll edit them a bit later.
It is based on my impressions of characters and is purely my headcanons and so on. It includes Yukong, whom we saw at the beginning of Luofu story, Luocha, whom we saw at Dan Heng's part of story (both of them didn't quite open their personalities) so if they are a bit OOC, it's because I don't know their personalities as good as I want, but I tried my best!
PS. I still have exams and this writing was in my drafts for a month, so if it doesn't make any sense at some point, my apologies!
Thank you for reading!
■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□
Small intro: - Name : [Name] - Age : ??? - Occupation : the advisor of the Luofu region - Status : ??? - Path : The Hunt - Element : [which you like]
□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□
Yanqing
[About [Name]]
- Oh, you mean Lady [Name]? She is amazing strategist I must say! She has a huge collection of the of different antiques and swords, and even allows me to take some of them for practice! Oh and she is good at martial arts, I remember when I was younger, we were having small tournaments and she was just as skilled as the General! Mom... I mean Lady [Name] is very kind, so if you will have any questions or troubles you can ask her for assistance
Bonus [About family of three]
- M? Oh you want to know about my family? Well... Lady [Name] and General Jing Yuan took me in and raised me together. I have huge respect and gratitude towards them both... I-I don't remember my biological parents, but I heard that they were wonderful people. What I think about Lady [Name] and Master? Mom and dad, they...*warm smile* they are the best, one of the best parents a person could dream about
Jing Yuan
[About [Name]]
- Ah... advisor of the Luofu. Lady [Name] have a unique character, she can be both calm as a lake, swift as the coursing river yet fierce like a fire. A wonderful person for such position as the advisor of the whole region. Mn? What do I think of her as a person? Ha-ha, she is very kind, caring lady, always thinks about others that about herself and prioritizes others before herself. What is my relationship with her? Haha, take a guess...
Bonus [About a family of three]
- Advisor [Name] and I decided to take care of Yanqing after both of his parents died because of mara. We both never had a child of our own, but we still decided to try and give Yanqing everything he need and now, the Luofu have such a good lieutenant. [Name] and Yanqing always got along together, she was teaching him calligraphy and history while I was teaching him sword art and martial arts... ahhh what I wonderful memories...
Tingyun
[About [Name]]
- M what it is benefactor? What do I think of Advisor [Name]? Wonderful and hardworking lady. To be honest, I rarely see her not busy with her tasks... poor thing
Sushang
[About [Name]]
- Oh Advisor [Name]... well if I can say that our General-Lady of Yaoqing is more hardworking than the General of Luofu, I can't say the same about our Advisor in Xianzhou Yaoqing. Lady [Name] is much more competent than the advisor of Yaoqing, well at least in my opinion
Luocha
[About [Name]]
- I didn't personally met Advisor of the Luofu, but I heard that she is pretty reliable and hardworking. From what I heard, she was chosen out of 10 people what applied for position. They were given a task to solve and write an essay to explain why they solved case this way... and her one was the most logical and considerate
Yukong
[About [Name]]
- Lady [Name] is an amazing ally, advisor and friend. She loves to fly, but ... unfortunately she can't control Starskiff, be a pilot. No, that does not mean she is incompetent in this way, she is just too scared that one wrong move will result in catastrophe
Fu Xuan
[About [Name]]
- Position of Advisor of the region is equal to being the General of a region. One is diplomat, while other is a warrior. They both equally important. But, I think the work of an advisor is more complicated than being a General. I want the position of a General, but of an Advisor... no, thank you... I think Lady [Name] is the best person for such position

#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan xichen#jin guangyao#jiang cheng#wei wuxian#qin su#EDIT: Tumblr published an earlier draft with only half the notes I wrote so: late entry on my JGY thoughts.#Unlike the mystic powers of the stockmarket (what the OG meme is referring to) I think this situation calls for more active investigation.#qin su is such a deeply tragic character to me and I really wish we got a bit more from her.#Love everyone who sent me messages about her after the last time she appeared.#I think she needs a spin off of her being a transmigrator SO badly.#MDZS has so many interesting characters - but it sometimes fails to give them the proper room to really develop past a role in the plot.#That's just the consequence of writing a story like MDZS. Not every character in a book *needs* to have a rich inner life and backstory!#To do so would bog down the story and obliterate any notion of pacing. It's just not possible.#Jin Guangyao (nee Meng Yao) is unfortunately not free from this leeway rule. He is the culprit of this murder mystery plot#and thus NEEDS to encapsulate the themes of the book. And personally he's a 7 out of 10 at best on this front (in the AD).#MDZS is about rumours twisting reality and working towards truth. And about how people & situations are rarely ever black & white#JGY has his motivations. He's well written in regards to his actions making sense for his character.#What started as good traits (drive to succeed & improve his image) became twisted over time (do anything to maintain his image)#and it's a good parallel to WWX! He has the same arc (with different traits)! Bonus points for IGY in that regard.#but man....by the time we confront this guy for murder there's not a lot of grey morality. He's just...deep in the hole *he* dug.#There's a beautiful tragedy to it! More on JGY in later comics - this is getting pretty long already!

one of my favorite things about mdzs is that for how heavily its plot involves politics of classism and misogyny... even the characters most directly impacted by it can't and don't free themselves from it. literally the closest exception is mianmian.
meng yao being the "son of a whore" wasn't some sort of commie awakening for him that led him to wanting everyone to be socially equal. he played the political game, climbed the ladders, sucked up to and backstabbed and murdered people, including other prostitutes who actually had nothing to do with how he and his mother were treated at the brothel he grew up in.
he put in so much extra excessive effort for even a fraction of the same respect that members of gentry cultivation clans got. and he did deserve to be treated more humanely! but he feeds into the exact same system that created him, leading to his own undoing.
his efforts were for a fragile upward mobility that was never going to hold up. he never surpassed his origins nor did he empower others in similar stations, because the society he lives in is not one that would accept that.
the second he got caught and all those crimes exposed, he was scapegoated to hell and back, replacing wei wuxian as society's terrible one-sidedly evil boogeyman overnight.
speaking of not-quite male gentry, i think it's interesting that wei wuxian explicitly doesn't try to climb the ladders in BOTH lives, knowing full well that anything he does will be punished just for the sheer fact that he is wei wuxian.
wei wuxian is scolded for giving intelligent and correct answers in school. lan wangji does the same and is praised.
wei wuxian occasionally lounges around with fellow disciples and is punished. jiang cheng does the same and mostly escapes.
wei wuxian refuses to carry his sword around in public (after losing his golden core, which nobody knows) and is scorned as an arrogant upstart. nie huaisang has been doing the EXACT SAME THING for YEARS and nobody bats an eye.
unlike jin guangyao, wei wuxian knew subconsciously from the start that his acceptance was superficial and that he could be cast out any time. when he was 10 and recently taken in by the jiangs, he canonically would not eat or use "too much" food and water because he thought they'd find him a nuisance for "wasting their things" and kick him back out.
now away from just the classism, yu ziyuan is a proud and strong noblewoman in a society that belittles and derides women for everything they do. her strong cultivation doesn't matter. she's victim to the vicious rumors of her husband loving another woman who is strong like her but apparently had a more likeable personality.
it doesn't matter even if jiang fengmian didn't cheat or that wei wuxian is wei changze's son with cangse sanren; yu ziyuan can't bear with the humiliation of herself (and by extension her children) not being "good enough". she's ridiculed for "failing" in that one duty as a wife, mother, and woman.
she lashes out and takes out that anger on everyone present for years, giving her children lasting trauma and also being a key element in how the jiang family and yunmeng jiang sect are effectively wiped out at the hands of the wen clan.
madam jin doesn't even have a name outside of the fact that she's married to jin guangshan. i don't even remember reading anything that indicates if she's a strong or weak cultivator, or what, which in itself proves that to most people, it doesn't matter. she's "just" a woman.
of course she's angry at her husband's affairs and all the bastard children they bring in. but she also can't do anything about them, so she lashes out at the few people she can: servants. non-cultivators, probably. those very same bastard children.
shoutout to meng yao getting shoved down a flight of stairs at age fourteen, because if madam jin tried that move against her husband instead, it would make her lose even more face, which as a noblewoman she'd never do.
and that's not getting into how jiang yanli is consistently sidelined for being physically weak.
that's not getting into how mianmian was actually a good cultivator, but was mocked by everyone around her for trying to stand up for wei wuxian when everyone was turning on him. how everyone scoffed at luo qingyang's words as "just some lovesick woman" who "obviously wants to marry or bed him since he saved her".
luo qingyang is the only one of these characters who HASN'T died. she didn't play society's games like jin guangyao. she didn't dig her heels in confidence of her own abilities like wei wuxian.
she didn't bitterly lash out like yu ziyuan and madam jin. she didn't gently accept it like jiang yanli.
she just LEFT.
she married an ordinary merchant and cultivates separately from mainstream cultivation society, and therein found her own peace and happiness.
mxtx doesn't bother with particularly class conscious or feminist vocabulary to hand-hold readers into understanding these disparities, but that choice highlights them & the deeply entrenched politics of their society even more. i really love it.

In a way, Qin Su's a lot like Lady Macduff. Lady Macduff also only exists for one brief scene before being viciously murdered for the sole purpose of harming her husband--both in-universe (Macbeth orders Macduff's family killed in retribution for Macduff rebelling against him) and narratively (guilt and grief over the loss of his family motivates Macduff to kill Macbeth). We know next to nothing about Lady Macduff, but she has so much PERSONALITY in those few minutes that she leaves an impact on the audience.
Qin Su also only exists for one brief scene, and also dies for the sole purpose of harming her husband both in-universe (Nie Huaisang may not have set out intending to kill her, but he sure didn't object to it) and narratively (Qin Su is but one entry in Jin Guangyao's List Of Crimes that doubles as a List Of Personal Tragedies), and also makes a lasting impact, except! Except.
Whereas we know more about Qin Su's backstory and her relationship with Jin Guangyao than we do about Lady Macduff's backstory and relationship with Macduff (Qin Su has her own name, for starters!), Lady Macduff's fridging pans out in the more traditional sense. Macduff's reaction to her death is the emotional centerpiece of the scene in which it occurs and is one of the most impactful moments of the entire play, even though the play is called Macbeth and Macduff himself appears in only two scenes beforehand. His handful of appearances after this moment are all about his now deeply personal hatred of Macbeth. ("If thou be'st slain and with no stroke of mine, my wife and children's ghosts shall haunt me still.")
Qin Su doesn't even get the dignity of that! The centerpiece of the scene in which she dies has nothing to do with her or even with her husband: it's Wangxian's grand romantic gesture on the stairs, followed by Wei Wuxian drawing Suibian. She stabs herself and she comes in THIRD. And forget about her having lasting impact! Lasting impact for female characters is reserved for Jiang Yanli and even she's on thin ice!
Just!!!!!! This is why it's important to me that Jin Guangyao weeping over her corpse is genuine and isn't just a Clever Ruse(TM) to dodge suspicion: though Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng certainly should have a response and fic authors who explore that are doing the Lord's work, Jin Guangyao is literally THE ONLY ONE who expresses any sort of emotion about Qin Su beyond "damn, that's crazy!", and I NEED FOR SOMEONE TO CARE.

A family of three
Tumblr media
Character: Jing Yuan × fem!reader (romantically); Yanqing × fem!reader (platonically:  mother-son relations)
□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■
[Author note]
Me and my thoughts about Jing Yuan and Yanqing father-son relations are living rent-free in my head as well as different ideas connected with these two, so here we are. (Again, purely my headcanons were used!)
PS. Maybe a little OOC. My apologies for any typos and mistakes! Uni takes the most of my time, so I will correct them when I will be free from my assignments and exam preparation.
Hope you enjoyed reading it and thank you for reading it!
□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■
- You still remember that day very clearly. Being an advisor of Luofu is quite a job, and you have just returned from meeting held in another Xianzhou region, so you decided to work from home
- You have finished your papers for today, and were doing some ink painting, when you heard the main door opened
- To say you were surprised will be not the right word... when you came to greet your husband you saw not only him but him with adorable 4 year old child
- You were confused but decided not to question, who, why and how for now. Being married for God knows how long (being a native person from Xianzhou meant being blessed with long life) you knew that face of your husband, when he was tired and was concerned with some problems. And the mara-struck problem striked again with bigger waves, so you decided not to throw all your question at the General, who already have had enough problems
- When Jing Yuan wanted to introduce you and boy to each other, you were faster and leveled yourself to boy's height
"Hi! I'm Lady Y/n, what is your name?", - you said with warm smile. The boy quietly and shyly said "Yanqing", "Oh what a pretty name! Are you hungry? I baked some mooncakes, and made some spring rolls, wanna try?" The boy beamed with happiness and agreed.
- After eating, you showed boy around. When you entered your study room, Yanqing saw the ink art on your table and asked if he can try to draw too. Of course, you agreed, firstly being kind-soul you are and secondly, how to say no to such adorable child.
- After some tries you proposed your help and boy agreed. Within 30 minutes a masterpiece was finished. You saw that the boy was yawning, so you took him to your bedroom which was closer to you.
"Here, you can sleep here. If you will need something, I will be in the study, the next door, 'mkay?", "Yes, thank you miss N/n!*", "Good, sleep well Yanqing, have sweet dreams~"
- When you and Jing Yuan finished all work-related issues, you sat on sofa reading your favorite book, while massaging Jing Yuan's head which was lying on your lap.
- He said that mara-struck problem was getting more and more serious. And that Yanqing was a son of one of his most trusted soldiers, about whom you have heard, but unfortunately the soldier died because of mara. His wife came to Jing Yuan, and told that she may been striked by mara too, she felt some symptoms of it, and she wanted to ask general to help find new family for Yanqing, so he would life a happy long life.
- Of course, you knew the horrors of person being mara-struck. They became monster, who didn't recognize anyone. Although you are not strategist on the battlefield nor general as an advisor you also dealt with consequences of such curse-illnesses.
- Jing Yuan said that tomorrow he will find a good family, for Yanqing while you proposed to raise Yanqing together. You have had more that enough resourses to ensure that boy will grow up in good conditions. You and Jing Yuan have lived for so long but were too engaged in work that you did not have children of your own.
- Of course the General have had such idea, but he wasn't quite sure, whether you would agree or not. Raising your own child is hard, what to say about not your one? He knew that you are kind and loved children but still it such a big step, what if you felt that you are not ready?
- So after you proposed to raise Yanqing together both of you agreed. Then you held a small discussion, what to renovate in household and what you need to buy for Yanqing. And that how a family of three emerged.

[Small note]
* N/n stands for nickname, I thought that if your name is quite complicated for child to pronounce, he will use name similar for it, for example - Cecilia = Lilia and so on. But even if it's easy one, children still tend to give some nicknames.

Gah, the way the characters in white cat legend think that pushing those they love away will protect them. Qiu Qingzhi with Li Bing. Li Bing with Chen Shi and the rest. Alibaba with Vice President Shangguan. "It's for your own good" they say and they truly believe it. Even Chen Jiu with Chen Shi ("don't come to Shendu").
The way that the only way to break this cycle was for those being pushed away to push back. How, when even Chen Shi (the most openly caring of all the characters) had given up, his previous actions meant that Wang Qi and co. were still willing to keep trying. They were the four who had been deliberately coasting along prior to the start of the series, doing only enough in their jobs to not entirely lose their paychecks (and not even doing a particularly good job at that). And yet, because of the impact Li Bing and Chen Shi had had on them, *they're* the ones to say "stop pushing us away" and go out of their way to bridge the gap to Li Bing. Li Bing, who time and again, pushed others away, certain he had to keep others out of danger, and yet also terrified of what letting people close would do to *him* if they discovered him as he "truly" was.
It wasn't too late for Li Bing. He had people in his corner willing to push past his attempts to keep them out and he was (eventually) able to accept them. Accept that they accepted him.
Not everyone is so lucky.

MDZS/CQL - Not a headcanon or a theory, just a canon divergence fic idea that may not ever be written but gave me such a *light bulb* moment today that I had to write it down:
(NSFW-ish topic after the Read More)
So Jin Guangyao and Qin Su did not 'dally' before they married, so she wasn't pregnant at the time. And since he discovered the truth of her parentage the night before the wedding, even though he went through with the ceremony, he was determined to prevent a pregnancy. He pleased her in other ways, and spun a tale of some sort of incident that affected his 'performance' to explain why he would/could not have intercourse with his wife and was unable to father a chil, and she loved him enough to believe him and accept him as he was.
But though she never said anything, he could tell she was disappointed - not at his lack of 'performance', but because she had longed to be a mother (also think of the time period - her value as a woman was much based on her status as a mother/wife and ability to provide her husband an heir, like it or not) and this was something he could not give her.
So he began to think of alternatives.
While he's brooding over this and other issues, he plays host to Nie Huaisang, who is yet again escaping his responsibilities and saber practice by coming to Lanling. Jin Guangyao never minds - he's fond of him, like a close friend or brother, and Qin Su's always enjoyed Nie Huaisang's company (he helped her in her efforts to pursue Jin Guangyao, and also put in a few good words to her father when he was hesitant to let her marry). Jin Guangyao, while watching them together, has a thought - that in another time, where her parentage had been known in time for them not to marry, that perhaps she might have been married to Nie Huaisang, and he would have given her the children she dreamed of having - and between the two of them, they would have such pretty, talented children.
And that's when he has his oh moment.
After Nie Huaisang's visit, Jin Guangyao chooses a night of beauty and romance, with luxurious food and excellent wine and a starry sky, to hold his wife and talk with her about many things, and leads the conversation to them having children. She tries to insist that she's fine, that she loves Jin Guangyao and would happily give up being a mother to be with him. And then he says: "What if we invited someone into our bed? For us to share, and perhaps for them to give you what I cannot?" She immediately protests, but he can tell the idea holds some appeal to her. So he drops the subject for a while and thinks on it further, and the more he considers various 'candidates', the more he realizes Nie Huaisang is perfect - no desire for responsibility, a reputation for spending time in brothels with both men and women (and thus a more casual attitude toward sex), well-loved by both Jin Guangyao and Qin Su, and more importantly, is not someone Jin Guangyao fears might steal Qin Su's heart from him.
And so Jin Guangyao brings the subject up again, but in a teasing manner - saying Nie Huaisang spends so much time with them that he might as well be sharing their bed. She laughs and playfully slaps his arm. He continues, his words becoming less teasing and more considering, even lustful, as he admits that there had been times when he worked in the Unclean Realm that he had fantasized about kissing Nie Huaisang (Qin Su already knew of his diverse leanings), and says he would quite like to watch Qin Su's face as someone else brings her pleasure. And then Qin Su remembers the conversation they'd had the one night. She asks if he's bringing that old subject up again, if that's why he's speaking of it. He admits he's been thinking on it and the idea has become more and more appealing. He asks her not to outright reject the idea, to think on it for a couple of days, and if her answer is still no, he will accept it and never bring it up again.
Before she's given her answer, they make love one night, and she surprises him by saying something suggestive, like touching herself and asking if A-Yao wishes it were A-Sang's hands on her - her words almost hesitant, testing. He responds positively, they grow more into it as they make love, and they fall asleep happy in each others' arms.
A day later, she says she believes she would be willing to try.
They have drinks with Nie Huaisang on one of his many visits and Qin Su brings up the subject - Nie Huaisang almost chokes on his wine when he realizes what she's suggesting. And Qin Su is very honest - saying outright that she and Jin Guangyao cannot have children and she hopes a child may come of whatever 'arrangement' they can come to. Jin Guangyao makes certain to show that he's very on board, but leaves most of the persuading to Qin Su. Nie Huaisang had looked tempted from the very beginning, already glancing at husband and wife with appreciation, but does not agree until he is reassured that nobody outside the three of them would know of it, and that if there is a child, that he's not expected to be a parent (a fun uncle would be all right).
And so they have a sensual, affectionate night together, just the three of them, and they all enjoyed it enough that they made it a regular thing. And when Qin Su became pregnant, none were the wiser that the child was not Jin Guangyao's. Jin Rusong was loved by them all, adored by his parents and spoiled by his Uncle Huaisang, and things went well for a time - the arrangement continuing even after Rusong's birth because it made them all happy, and if they were to give Rusong a sister or brother, all the better.
And then Nie Mingjue died.
Nie Huaisang began to pull away more and more, and no matter how much Jin Guangyao or Qin Su tried to reach out to him, he was too mired in grief to do more than welcome a consoling hug. Eventually Sect Leader Nie felt well enough to socialize with his old friends, but he never continued the arrangement, and Jin Guangyao and Qin Su watched their friend become the Headshaker, worried for him but not knowing what to do for him other than help him when he came crying on their shoulders about not knowing what to do about some issue or other.
And then one day the worst happened - Jin Rusong was killed by a madman angry about the watchtower project. Qin Su was devastated, and Jin Guangyao grieved his son - because he was his son, no matter what their blood said. Jin Guangyao basically lived on auto-pilot, making the funeral arrangements and comforting his wife, all as he felt numb to the core over the loss.
When the sect whose leader killed Rusong was decimated, few questioned it - it was only right that a man avenge his son's death, and few people could find fault in a grieving father.
Except... Jin Guangyao hadn't done anything. Whatever bandits or mercenaries or whoever had destroyed the sect, none of it had been his doing. He was as confused as he was numb - but he was satisfied to let people think it was his doing, if only so they would be wary of him and of hurting his family.
Years later, lying on the floor of Guanyin Temple, Jin Guangyao realized that perhaps he should have questioned the sect's decimation more. If only he had realized then just what lengths Nie Huaisang would go to avenge the death of family, of someone he loved...

i love yesenia and tavi's story.... forbidden love between a princess and a knight. a knight that loves you so much he finds a way to resurrect you and protects your body for centuries. who reincarnates into an asshole and a swindler but who still is so connected to you that he brings you the key to resurrection even without knowing a thing. who still agrees to help despite being an asshole and a swindler now. who still continues to help you. yall travel the world together and he helps you play your mobile games. wtf. shakes them.
