QSMP - Hey so I think the Resistance kidnapped Pac back in August
/rp Let us recall Pac getting kidnapped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pac and Mike find the above book in Walter Bob's cell, labelled "ASSIGNMENT".
One of the screen displays in another prison cell (Tazercraft speculates that it's the Prison Ghost that helped them out in their joint jailbreak earlier) gives Fit the coordinates.
Tazercraft goes to the coords and find the Code with the Code Sword, which attacks them.
Forever warps them out, but Pac gets warped far away underwater.
Pac goes to Ocean Jail. "Craft is offline. Tazer is alone."
Mike gets a series of clues left for him by an anonymous party.
(Checking back at the initial coords where the code attacked first, they find one of those white rooms with an caged Blob of Darkness. Later players speculate this has something to do with the Dark Matter but I don't think we know anything for sure.)
When they find and rescue Pac, Pac says he's been trapped there and someone was being tortured next to him, but doesn't know a lot else.
Ocean Jail does not look like a normal Federation build - IIRC the block palette was very dark, not white quartz all over.
On the way out, they are chased by a couple faceless guard-entities on the way out, who Mike kills. And that's about it.
Knowing what we know now from Etoiles' lore and the fact that Walter Bob was a Resistance member, I don't think Pac was kidnapped by the Federation. I think he was kidnapped by the Code/Resistance-alliance.
To me, this paints a coherent picture:
Resistance member Walter Bob planned to deliver something to the found coords, which is a Resistance base.
Tazercraft gets near the place and their presence triggers an alarm or freaks someone out, which summons the Codes.
The Code (somehow?) sends Pac to the Resistance's Ocean Jail as a defensive measure.
(I checked many of these but am kind of going from memory for others, please let me know if I have a detail wrong.)

Blocksgame Orpheus's crackpot lore theory hour - QSMP FitMC edition
/rp
<takes a long drag off of a mechanical pencil>
We know that Fit was recruited on 2b2t by an unknown party to steal player data from the Federation.
Bear with me. These are players in a Minecraft world. They live in a server, though they can go between servers. Either literally on computers or in a more metaphysical way, they're data. Their bodies are data. What if "player data" is that data.
Maybe it's a brain emulation situation and a full set of "player data" is literally all of their memories and past actions and brain such that it would be indistinguishable from the original (at the point the copy was made.) Maybe it's something less intense, but like, still what you would need to recreate that person, something of their memories or capabilities.
I am not positing that he's here to, like, kidnap players, exactly. I am positing that he's copying or stealing copies of the data that makes them up. And he is giving those copies to his employer so that they can experiment on or run those players on another server.
This squares with a couple other things Fit has indicated about his task:
He doesn't think his friends will directly come to harm. He's talked about getting out of there with Ramon. I don't get the sense that he thinks, say, Pac will die as a result of his actions. Etc.
Nonetheless, he's said that the others would hate him if they knew
Well, Fit comes from a culture (2b2t) that makes extensive use of bots, as well as coerced labor. What if Fit's stealing player data so that it can be piped into, like, Fantasy Baritone Mod and used to mine or build or do other actions. Or uploaded to other servers.
Like a Lena/MMAcevado situation [CW for short story at link: identity horror, horror about uploaded minds].
FAQ:
Why does Fit have to be on Quesadilla Island to do this?
Maybe it's unusual to have player data stored somewhere accessible. The Federation and the Rebellion seem to be in the business of altering or creating people - the eggs, the code, the workers, the Cucuruchos, SOFIA, the minimes, Baghera and the other hybrids, AyRobot, Luzu, whatever's up with the two Quackitys... Maybe they work with this and they're known to keep copies of this data serverside.
Wait. I know Fit's an asshole, but isn't mistreating perfect clones of his friends still mistreating his friends? Would he really do that?
If you ask me, a perfect clone of you or your brain that has your thoughts and memories and behaviors is you in most of the important ways. But people disagree and I don't think Fit necessarily would see it this way. He's smart and resourceful but I don't think he necessarily has an expansive theory of mind. (If nothing else, the environment he was in before this did not really reward empathy.) I think he might say that as long as his versions of his friends are safe, any other copies out there are all but strangers, and thus, fair game.
...And he absolutely wouldn't be motivated to start thinking otherwise now. He's in too deep.
I feel like you just gestured at a sort of entire Minecraft-based cosmology that there's no evidence for in the story.
I did do that. That's on me. It would be cool, though, wouldn't it?

The Code just dropped a clock for Fit. The Code the other day gave Etoiles their iconic busted weapon. He thought it was temporary and for the Forever situation, but I think it's temporary and the Code was worried about something else. Perhaps the same thing the eggs were afraid of. :)

The Resistance base that Etoiles has visited multiple times (in addition to being the name of the waystone, this is also referenced in one of the books inside, AFAICT as the name of the location) is named after the latin name of the European hornet, Vespa crabro.

Jot that down. Could be important.

Etoiles' new shield theory: broken by the Federation, reforged by the Code
So in his nether adventure today, Etoiles first found a book talking about a unique shield CPV1. Its pieces were destroyed - probably by the Federation, given the kind of SCP language we've seen them use before on e.g. the website.
Tumblr media
The shield Etoiles found under it, named CPV2, looks like it's two pieces that are fused together with with green lines of code:

So I think that the shield CPV1 was broken, the Federation tried to destroyed the pieces and schematics and kept only minimal notes on it - and then the Code (or something affiliated with the Code) obtained and restored those pieces into CPV2, the shield Etoiles has now.
Maybe this has to do with why the Code knew where it was, or wanted Etoiles to get it.

Etoiles logged out in the Nether, sure, but I've seen people saying that q!Etoiles is stuck there or trapped there, and I don't think he is.
When he was kicked from the server with "The Nether awaits...", immediately checked to see if he could log back in. And he could - he wasn't banned! Just kicked. I don't think we saw for sure but it sure seemed like the portal he went through was still there.
I don't think he's banished. I bet he'll be able to leave whatever quest he's on now. I just don't think he's going to.

So my great new theory is that the Federation is turning capybaras into creative motors. I think you'll find this explains a lot.

re: today 2023-08-21 Quackity's lore -
Did the thing q!Quackity said I think to Forever, that he was looking for someone named Antonio, make sense to anyone? ("Antonio" of course looks like "Antoine" but I don't know any reason he'd be looking for Antoine either.)

This is probably nothing, but I cranked up the brightness and could tell that an object on the left is a fallen "danger" sign - have we seen that particular sign before? Anyone know? Looks like red, white all-caps letters, yellow and black border?
