1962 – Cuban Missile Crisis ends: In response to the Soviet Union agreeing to remove its missiles from Cuba, U.S. President John F. Kennedy ends the quarantine of the Caribbean nation. 1968 – A total of 78 miners are killed in an explosion at the Consolidated Coal Company's No. 9 mine in Farmington, West Virginia in the Farmington Mine disaster. 1969 – Vietnam War: The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, Ohio) publishes explicit photographs of dead villagers from the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam. 1969 – Occupation of Alcatraz: Native American activists seize control of Alcatraz Island until being ousted by the U.S. Government on June 11, 1971. 1974 – The United States Department of Justice files its final anti-trust suit against AT&T Corporation. How to Write Exemption Letter for Travel to Australia?

International travel from Australia is prohibited. If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, you will not be able to leave Australia unless you have a travel permit or you are traveling to an area exempted from the ban. Foreign nationals can leave Australia at any time. Based on current health advice, travel to countries at high risk for COVID-19 poses a significant health risk to Australian citizens. How to apply for freedom of movement

Individuals applying for "special circumstances" exemptions to travel from Australia to countries at high risk for COVID-19 will only be approved in the following limited circumstances:

· essential workers contributing to the country's ongoing COVID-19 response;

· those who travel for the good of Australia; Or

· those seeking urgent treatment for a serious incurable disease in Australia.

A supporting document should be provided. The "special circumstances" exemptions listed in the International Travel Restrictions Guidelines do not apply to those wishing to travel to one of the high-risk COVID-19 countries listed above.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available for essential travel abroad

Australian citizens and permanent residents under the age of 50 who have a valid travel permit and an eligible group can get the COVID-19 vaccine. To qualify, travel must be canceled on or after May 20, 2021 for one of the following reasons:

· Your trip is part of the response to the COVID-19 outbreak, including helping;

· your travel is on business for you or your employer;

· you are traveling to receive urgent medical treatment that is not available in Australia;

· you are traveling for a humanitarian or charitable purpose;

· you are traveling for urgent or unavoidable personal business;

· Your journey is for the good of the country.

If you have a travel waiver approved for an eligible purpose before May 20, 2021 and you have not left Australia, you can submit a new travel waiver application. Upload all necessary documents and prove you want to qualify for vaccinations before you travel.

How to get to New Zealand

Non-stop travel from Australia to New Zealand will commence at 9:59 pm AEST on April 18, 2021. To travel to New Zealand on a non-quarantine flight, you must:

· have spent 14 days or more in Australia or New Zealand immediately prior to flight departure (this includes spending 14 days in Australia or traveling from New Zealand to Australia and returning within 14 days)

· Meet New Zealand government health requirements. All relevant entry requirements, including immigration and biosecurity, are affected.

Why the Pandemic has Changed Gift-Giving Forever

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on everyone's lives. Students turned to online education, businesses closed down, some people lost their jobs, frontline workers worked endlessly to fight the disease first-hand, and others lost loved ones. It is in no question that we continue to live with the impacts of the sudden chaos spread throughout the world back in March 2020. The pandemic has also impacted our social lives. For some the quarantine has made families closer, while it broke other families. Some turned to social media to cope, others finally found the motivation to reconnect with family they haven't spoken to in years.

The impacts of socialization that started during the pandemic continue for many today. It opened the eyes of many to realize who really cares for you, or gave you the motivation to reach out to those you were concerned about. Some social lives were put to a strict halt from the pandemic while others began connecting with others online through social media. Likewise, the pandemic has also had a major impact on gift-giving behaviours that we continue to see in the present day, post-pandemic (well…almost post-pandemic).

Gift-giving is a traditional practice maintained over generations. The overwhelming majority of people often engage in gift-giving practices during the holidays but some practice these behaviours throughout the year. Consequently, due to the pandemic, has been a shift in giving behaviours. According to a survey by CoinStar, in the 2021 holiday season, 1 in 8 decided on skipping out on holiday gifting due to their contradicting beliefs about the pandemic (Anderer, 2021). During winter of 2021, many also decided to limit their gifting to decrease the amount they spend on gifts during the holiday season, understandably due to the pandemic job losses (Anderer, 2021). Only about two thirds of Americans actually decided to consider engaging in their annual gift-giving practices after the pandemic (Anderer, 2021). Despite the hold on extravagance, in 2021, only about 39% of individuals considered limiting their spending budget for seasonal gifts, which actually isn't too bad considering previous years. To put these numbers into perspective, in 2019, about 59% of Americans were holding a tight budget on holiday gift-giving (Anderer, 2021).

Consumer behavior has also changed as a result of the pandemic. Reduced social interactions due to the pandemic has resulted in many people turning to gift-giving to stay connected with one another. According to Google, there was an 80% increase in web searches for "online gift" from 2019 to 2020 (Marinho, 2021). Due to the impacts of socialization and isolation during the pandemic many people tried to make the most of their small events as seen in their Google searches (Marinho, 2021). There was a significant increase in searches like "how to celebrate birthdays meaningfully" or "volunteer opportunities around me" (Marinho, 2021).The pandemic has evolved gift-giving behaviours for the better. The pandemic led many to realize the value of relationships and the importance of maintaining these relationships through any possible means such as gift-giving. As proven through google searches and surveys, it is evident how the pandemic has led people to increase in prosocial behaviours and giving back to their loved ones and community.

She had found a kitten in the engine compartment of her truck. A tiny, terrified, little thing we figured was about 7 weeks old. The neighbor couldn't keep her (allergies), so we took her in. On the way to her doctor's appointment I played the show, hoping to calm her down. It did not work. Aside from a minor ear infection, and being a bit thin for her age, she was given a clean bill of health. I now have a new baby, little Minka. And thank the gods, she's finally putting on some weight. And I think she likes the show, since when I was cooking recently she tried to climb up my leg. But really that was either your playlist or the bacon. Any way, your work has been the soundtrack for the arrival of a new bundle of joy into my life. I will try to send a picture of sweet Minka."
