@query-bot asked: Have you ever had to go without? Why?
"More than a few times - my mothers were strict in their rules while I was in training, that if I did not complete the goals they set for me, I did not eat nor sleep until they were done. They said there were lessons in fasting, in fighting on when one was tired - enemies do not care if you are hungry or tired."
"Depending on what monsters they stocked in the Labyrinth for training, I would go a couple of days with neither food nor sleep."

@query-bot asked: Which Champion's weapon do you find yourself favoring?
« Revali's bow. Not sure if he'd be glad about it or annoyed, but it's a great bow, and I find it really good to work with. Though I hope he never finds out how many times I've had to have Harth repair it - I don't want to enter the afterlife only to have him kill me again somehow because I broke his bow several times. »

What is Ganondorf's opinion on Zora architecture?
// answering this one OOC.
Ganon, having been born and raised in the Gerudo desert, is amazed by how integral water is in Zora structures, from engravings to the insurance that water will flow through them. It's just so much water to him, compared to the aqueducts that run through his town. //

What do you associate with the word Shadow?
Link's brows furrowed as his his hands lifted above his head, curled loosely before releasing. << Darkness. >> he signed, giving the most practical answer first.
But from the way the construct queried about the word 'Shadow', Link had a hunch that wasn't all it wondered above. Lips working for a moment, he signed again. Right palm flattened, facing to the side, as his left pointer finger rang along it, going straight down. << The Depths. >>
#query bot#mute courage || link#thus it is written || headcanons.#out questing. || queue#botw link hasn't really met dark link so that would be a very different answer otherwise

Where do you source your merchandise from?
Beedle smiles.
"Everywhere! I've been to places you haven't even heard of! Places you can't even imagine! I don't even know how I get there, but I do! Deep caves, high mountains! Deserts, jungles, even the open ocean! Bustling cities with buildings that scrape the sky! Bazaars that would make lesser salesmen weep at the beauty of all of that commerce! Scary towns with mist that even the sun can't burn away. Even wastelands have their bounty if you know where to look!"

@query-bot asked: What is your favorite constellation?
"The Goddess Harp constellation - Mother told me I was born under it. It aligns with Hyrule Castle in the early summer and, historically, most of Royal family has aimed to have their daughter born beneath it. There's a tradition long passed through our line that the Goddess Harp is a lucky sign for a Princess to be born under."
"It is... also the first constellation my mother taught me. I had just turned six years old and we were visiting the Gerudo chief. Mother pointed it out while we were out with Chief Urbosa and told me about it. I remember Mother singing a lullaby, and Urbosa joining in until I fell asleep between them."
"... I miss them both so much."

How often do you take time to rest?
rest was not something that came easy to the hero of twilight , in fact , what was resting when an entire kingdom's salvation was placed on your back before you even had a say for or against such a burden? it was a luxury that was not afford to one such as he. light and shadow had mixed to bath the world in a orange haze that afflicted both sets of denizens. there where very few places that link could go to get rest without being too onguard ( because on high alert would he always be from the shadow beasts ): transfigured into the guise of a blue eyed beast under the veil of dusk and yet , the hunter was seemingly turned into prey. he would stay up for hours on end until his body physically could not handle being awake anymore and how much of a hero could he be if link miscalculated even for a moment due to sleep deprivation psychosis? not one worthy of the title --- even if he did not wish for it.
still , he ponders the question on his tongue before answering. link can recall with much vivid detail every moment when he'd reached the point of exhaustion a decade ago --- sometimes he still suffered from sleepless nights ( habits where harder to break than form ): the ordonain also knew the places that gave him reprise from the journey ( a light spirit's spring , the cave of ordeals --- under the watch of the fairy queen --- or telma at her bar ): resting at his home in ordon had become less so , as to not run the risk of bringing harm to those who had watched him grow and helped link become strong enough to even take on the task thrusted upon him ( weather he wanted it or not ): ordon was not apart of hyrule but had suffered by association of him being apart of the village and link would rather get lost in the blizzards of snow peak or the gerudo desert than take the risk of anything happening to ordon's community.
❝ not often , wheneva my mind lets me i suppos'. ❞ and those where far too true. even now , link wonders if returning to ordon was the best decision --- did the pros of him being surrounded by those he cherished outweigh the cons of another tragedy befalling ordon by proxy of being so close to hyrule ( and him being the gods chosen hero --- him carrying the spirit of the former hero be damned ): ❝ i rest in spirit spring's a lot or wheneva i visit auntie telma at her bar but , sleepin' issa lot harda and i gotta pass out ta like do it. ❞

@query-bot said: What is your favorite form of long distance travel?
"Boat, most definitely. I do adore watching the waves roll, I get to see the ocean so infrequently."
There were occasions when she got the chance to sit on the beach, however, in Hyrule, the border was quite far from Castle Town. Far enough that using Farore's Wind would take a lot out of her, so she opted not to. Only if she really, really wanted to see the beach. When the opportunity arose to visit another kingdom by boat, she practically jumped at the chance.
"I would adore to see more of the ocean, perhaps if time permits so. Someday..."
How nice would it be, to feel the sand on her feet, rather than having her heels dig into it? Ah, dreams of more freedom than she had. It was okay, she accepted her responsibility. She strove towards making everyone in the kingdom happy, and able to pursue whatever their ambitions may be.
"If I could, I would live near the beach. Maybe have a rowboat, as well."

What has made you happy today?
Unprompted questions to the Princess
"...What was that?"
Zelda looked up from where she was knelt before the construct, providing a bit of repair for its withered parts. The question took her off guard, as the constructs and their intelligence so often did—such complex thoughts for a creature meant as machinery...
and yet, she, the one made of flesh and blood, struggled to find an answer.
"...I'm not sure," she finally admitted with a small smile dampened by tilted brows, "I suppose...it isn't something I have thought about in some time..."
Happiness. When was the last time she felt happy? She must have, surely—with Link, she thought, with Purah, and Impa, and—well, studying the ruins, and—her school, of course, her students—she was happy when she was around them. Right? That warmth, that feeling of belonging, however temporary it was, that was happiness...right?
Was happiness found, or was it learned?
Zelda patted the construct and fixed her smile.
"I'm happy being with you right now," she finally settled, and it felt close enough to the truth, "now then—just a bit more, and you'll be all done. Alright?"

@query-bot asked: What is the most grievous wound you've sustained? How did you recover?
"When I was a child, little older than five or six, I wandered outside the Labyrinth and into the desert. My mothers had left me alone, out to hunt, and I believe curiosity must have gotten the better of me. I was unarmed and wandered into a lizalfos nest."
"I do not remember what happened, but my mothers said they found me on the very doorstep of death. I had a spear wound through my belly and a deep bite at my throat. My mothers spent much time and magic to bring me from death's grip and never let me forget what they sacrificed to keep me."

@query-bot asked: Do you have a favorite aspect of Zora architecture?
« Their use of radiant stones to create the beautifully soft lighting. It's part of why I find Zora's Domain so peaceful and relaxing, healing even. The amount of work and skill that goes into making such a strange stone into something so wondrous and dreamlike is something enviable. »

When the world is safe, where will Twilight go?
"I guess... I'll probably go home, to Ordon?" His answer is hesitant - he's unsure of his own future. "It would be nice if things could go back to normal, y'know? But I reckon it might be better for me to move further out, 'case I ever need to use the wolf form."

What would it take for you to retire? Where would you go?
Tapping his chest, Link began to sign before stopping himself, expression pained. << I... >> Because that was the question, wasn't it. He wanted to retire, he wanted to rest, but asking what it would take for him to retire was an entirely different question. His lips worked for a moment before he signed again. Both palms rubbed together, first one way and then the other, before his hands settled by his side. << Peace >> he answered. He wanted everyone to be safe.
And after--where would he go? That was an easier question. Left hand pinched together before tapping the corner of his cheek by his mouth. Then he fingerspelled a particular word. << Home. Hateno. >>

How big is your family?
Beedle claps his hands at the question. It seems that he likes when people take an interest in him rather than just his wares.
"Oh! Well I'm the only child of my mom, Beatrice, and my dad, who is also named Beedle! I have two cousins on my dad's side, all named Beedle. It gets really confusing sometimes, especially since we all look alike... But we're a family of salespeople, and you can't beat the name Beedle!"
That sort of family situation brings to mind all the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys. Maybe some occupations just have a certain ubiquitous name and look attached to them...
This also explains all the other Beedles who have sold things to the other Links throughout the ages.

@query-bot asked: How do you relax on a day off?
"Usually with a good book. I've been re-reading the journal of my ancestor, Queen Zelda of the Era of Twilight, lately and her journal has fascinating insight to some of the recent companions I've made."
