Took Radar out for a short slow loop after I went to check on my friends cats. And now I am utterly exhausted again. Hoping this doesn’t hang on too long for me. My grandma started on Wednesday morning, and she’s still sick. I am obviously a lot younger and generally in better health, but when this started I was also still recovering from the whatever RSV-like thing I had over Christmas. Plus the throat infection. We’ll see how tonight and tomorrow go I suppose.

Radar

Clock tick-ticking as I lay in bed.

Warm whippet body against my thigh.

Smooth shiny fur under my fingers.

Cold, damp nose tucked into my elbow.

Velvety wispy ear draped over my wrist.

Calm slow breathes tickling my arm.

Soft brown eyes slowly drifting shut.

 These are the moments I want to remember

Forever.

Solitary Walks

I did get out for my walk this afternoon, just me, Radar, and my camera. It was really nice out, something like +2 or +3 degrees. It has made the trails a bit slick, but its supposed to be warm for the next few days, so perhaps the trails will mostly melt.

Here are a few shots from today, mostly of Radar.

Even though my camera totally failed on focus for this set (because I forgot to turn off auto-focus after the focus point was set.) I had to include it because Radar looks so awesome.

Pet Photography

So Radar's new coat arrived today (hooray for Cabela's gift cards when I'm broke!), so it was as good of an excuse as I needed to take pictures of her. I love taking pictures of the dogs. I harbour this mildly outrageous sort of secret wish to do pet photography as a significant portion of my career. I think in a perfect world I would do individual portraits, like lifestyle & branding sessions for people, and then pet (including large animals) + owner sessions, and then pet only sessions. The idea of trying to make that viable terrifies me. Even though I know people do it.
