Did I show off baby Jinx here? She's so cute and so tiny, but has more than doubled in size since I bought her! She is so sweet already, which makes me very happy. She's not quite as outgoing and inquisitive as Hex, but still an angel and not nearly as naughty and nervous as Voodoo.
She's a Lockwood Hypo Brazilian rainbow boa

daily snake #9
❤️ The Rainbow Boa (Epicrates cenchria), endemic to Central and South America, has a colorful holographic sheen caused by its structural coloration (coloration not caused by pigments, but the way the structure interferes with visible light!). It’s semi-arboreal, able to climb trees, and its not unusual for both sexes to go without eating during the mating season.

Take a look at our iridescent friends! While many different species of snakes exhibit iridescence on their scales, both the rainbow boa (Epicrates cenchria) and the white lipped python (Leiopython albertisii) are known and beloved for their beautiful rainbow shimmers! Rainbow boas are found in Central and South America, and are semi-arboreal snakes that can be found in the branches, on the ground, and even swimming in water. Rainbow boas give birth to live babies, and the newborn snakes prefer to stay in the safety of tree branches to keep out of reach of predators below. The white lipped python is found in several islands of New Guinea, and while they spend most of their time on the ground they do seem to enjoy an occasional arboreal escapade. White lipped pythons differ from many other pythons in that they have small teeth (although they have the highest number of teeth among pythons!) and they are active hunters that will track and stalk prey instead of finding a cozy spot to wait in ambush.

Currently fostering this absolutely stunning adult female Rainbow Boa, her name is Ann and she is about 4 years old. As much as I’d love to keep her she is currently looking for a new home, if you are near the Portland OR area feel free to message me!
She is very friendly but she is very eager about food so an experienced handler is preferred. I will not be selling her to anyone who wants to put her in a rack, I’m looking for preferably a 4x2x2 minimum and there is a rehoming fee.
For the right home I might be able to coordinate shipping as well, just message me

To celebrate getting a new scanner, have a batch of uploads! This post: Fan art.
Top: Alebrijes for two more Rivera family members. The armadillo-goat's name is Diego, and he belongs to Abuelita Elena. In life, he used to chew on the laundry as it hung on the line to dry. Elena loved that goat. The rooster-parrot-duck is named Panchito, and he belongs to Enrique. In life, he was a scrawny little rooster that lived on the farm of Enrique's paternal grandparents. As a boy, Enrique always played with him when he visited the farm. He named the bird Panchito, after the rooster in the Three Caballeros (which he was absolutely not supposed to watch and he knew it). Panchito disappeared one night while there was a coyote pack known to be in the area.
Middle: Antonio Madrigal plays with his rainbow boa friend.
Bottom: Chief Mouse Reepicheep and his right-paw Mouse Peepiceek.
