New Beginnings

Summary: Dance Practice for the Yule Ball and Y/n and George are paired up to practice. Just flufffff! Also need to tag @notgreengrass for being the editor over my posts, and helping me with the ending. I have no idea what I would do without you, tysm for making my writing that much better!

Pairings: George Weasley x Reader

The Yule Ball, as McGonagall described it, was a tradition that only happened during the Triwizard Tournament in which boys and girls — third year and up — attend a formal dance. The partying was what George was fine with, but the aspect he was had trouble with was the dance class. Sure, on the outside he joked around about the ordeal with his twin brother, but on the inside, George was terrified. It wasn’t because McGonagall was forcing everyone to learn how to do the Waltz correctly, no. It was because of the person he longed to dance with.

Y/n stood just across the room with all the other girls. It was a sunny day, and so her y/h/c hair looked glossy from the diamond-like reflections of the large window. Her smile was captivating, radiant even, as she laughed at the sight of McGonagall and Ron dancing together. Her hips were swaying ever so slightly to the soft music bouncing off the stone walls of the room.

She was perfect in every way in his eyes and she probably didn’t even know George existed. She was a grade below him and the two had never talked before. He often saw her hanging around the castle reading novels in different spots, or studying in the library by the window overlooking the lake, to which he assumed was her favorite spot since she was there most of all. The young witch often munched on sherbet lemons as she studied. When George visited Hogsmeade, he made sure to buy a box for her. George memorized her schedule, so before she even got to her cozy spot, he'd swiftly lay a box and stay hidden until he sees her bright smile reading the anonymous note he left on the package.

George was so caught up in his daydream about the y/h that he almost missed McGonagall ordering them to find a dance partner to practice with. George gulped as Fred hit him on the shoulder.

“Wanna dance with me, Georgie?” Fred winked playfully.

“Fred and George, you most certainly will not be dancing together!” McGonagall cried from beside them. “Now, Fred... you can be Angelina’s partner, and George... let's see. Oh, Y/n dear, come over here and be George’s partner, will you?” George felt his heart pick up a rapid pace. He was sure his heart would jump out of his chest when she walked towards him.

“Hello, George,” she greeted, her voice reminding him of a flower petal: soft and simply lovely. Her smile alone caused his body temperature to escalate quickly.

“Uh, hi Y/n,” George barely managed to get out. Why was he so nervous? He never felt nervous, not even for pranks.

“Well, don’t you think we should start dancing? We are the only two who are still standing here, you know.” She awkwardly smiled up at him as she stepped forward to place one hand on his shoulder and the other in his outstretched hand. After getting into the correct position, the two began to glide across the room through other couples. Y/n kept looking down at her feet almost every two seconds and George couldn’t help himself from blushing.

“I’m sorry,” she spoke up breaking the silence between them, “I just want to make sure I’m doing this correctly. Oh Merlin, George, I am so sorry I keep stepping on your foot!”

“It’s okay," said George quickly. "I’m not really leading correctly... I think," he lied. George was doing fine, surprisingly. He didn’t want her to feel bad for messing up. “Actually, you’re doing amazing.”

He caught the sight of her adorable wide y/e/c eyes and peachy cheeks before she tried to hide them by turning away.

“Oh, uh, t-thank you, George! I haven’t really danced with anyone ever besides my father, but even then all I ever did was stand on his feet as we stepped around the room.” She giggled nervously, wondering if George would think of her oddly for revealing that kind of information. “I believe that is why I'm constantly stepping on your foot.”

“Don’t worry about it," he smiled, "Practice always makes perfect right? Well, not perfect, probably just better because perfect isn't real. Well, I mean, except you, of course, you're perfect–" he accidentally let slip out from his rambling. He turned red before continuing like it never happened.

"Uh, I feel like your part is a little harder than mine," he said attempting to distract her from the last bit as they danced back through the crowd.

After a few minutes, Y/n stopped stepping on George’s toes and the two were told to switch partners – much to George's disappointment.

George was now somehow dancing with Angelina and Fred with Y/n. He watched as her and Fred twirled around the room. Heat was once again rising to his cheeks, but this time out of jealousy. Her sweet laugh caused him to lose focus and step on Angelina's foot which ended with her tripping and falling.

“George! Would you look at me please?! You’re making me mess up!”

“What? Oh, sorry Angelina. I just got distracted and I’m really tired with all this dancing.”

Angelina turned her head to focus on George’s line of sight when her eyes landed on Y/n laughing with Fred. She smirked as she turned back around to her friend.

“George, just ask her to the dance. She'll say yes, I promise.”

“What? Who are you talking about?” George tried.

“Um, Y/n. Obviously! I know for a fact that you haven’t been staring at your twin brother like that, and she's the one he’s dancing with so it wasn’t too hard to figure out. Plus, Fred told me that you’re crushing majorly on her. Yeah, he noticed too.”

George began to blush for what seemed like the millionth time today. “Fred doesn’t bloody know what he’s talking about.” Angelina only sighed and shook her head.

“I’m only telling you this because I know she will say yes to you and because I don’t want you to wait too late before asking her. A girl like that, psh, all the boys must be down on their knees for her."

After dance lessons were over, McGonagall informed the group that attendance was mandatory and that they were expected to have dates for the Yule Ball. George slowly gathered his bag up beside Fred and casually kept glancing over at Y/n who was chatting with Romilda Vane yet trying to escape the conversation.

Fred looked over at his brother and laughed.

“Georgie, oh dear Merlin. Just go ask her to the ball! Rip off the bandage and get it over with. It’s so obvious you want to take her, mate.”

“Okay, yeah, fine, but what if she says no? Then I’ll be stuck going to the dance with you!” George sighed and tossed his bag onto his shoulder all the while never taking his eyes off the girl. Fred punched him on the shoulder before he exclaims, “Just go! And I'm already going with someone else, hah!"

Y/n began to walk out of the door and towards the Great Hall for lunch as she left Romilda. George felt his feet beginning to move forward, almost as they had a will of their own, and before he knew it he was in strides beside Y/n. She looked up to him with that same beautiful smile.

“Yes... George?” y/n hesitated, studying the twin's face to correctly tell them apart, which was successful. 'She could tell us apart?' He thought in his head as the two continued to walk down the hall.

“Uh, you know how McGonagall told us that we have to have partners for the dance, and since we already danced together during practice I was thinking that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to go together to the ball? I mean unless of course you were already planning on going with someone else, but that’s fine! Uhh, I mean I just figured that it would be wicked if we got to go together to the ball, because it would be fun and–”

“George,” Y/n cut him off with a touch to his arm which left him staring deeply into her eyes that held a galaxy. “George, I would love to be your date to the dance. Thank you for asking me. I was actually hoping that you would...” She laughed anxiously with red dusting over her cheeks. George immediately felt his heart begin to race from the excitement.

“That’s– oh– that's really great!" George couldn't believe his luck. "I have got to go tell Fred and everyone I know and oh Merlin I'm so happy–” George rambled with a large smile plastered over his face.

"So, you'll pick me up?" she said as she shyly looked down at her shoes while fiddling with her fingers.

"Oh, yeah— yes, I will," George replied with the same tone of excitement.

"And George?"

"Yes?"

Y/n stood on her toes and reached toward his face and kissed his cheek softly. "I'll see you sometime, yes?" She smiled at him once more and spun on her heels and left after he ecstatically nodded.

George jumped and ran in the halls with glee, repeatedly yelling a variation of "yes's" and "yeah's" as he pumped his fists in the air. The next days consisted of counting down the days left until he gets to see the witch he'd possibly fallen in love with.

Easy Dule Wins

Before you can do this, you must first get the chargspell ability. Then you can win more easily by hitting them with explyharmec and knock them off their feet, then charge your spell to max, get close to them, and then shoot the spell. They will fall faster and you will advance faster!

Easy Fights And Duels

An easy way to win almost any fight or duel is to cast Levi Corpus or Petrificus Totalus. Then, just charge your Stupefy until it chimes twice, and release it. It will result in a one hit victory until later in the game, then it will require two. Note: This does not work on Fenrir Greyback.

Use the following combo to defeat any enemy. Use Expelliarmus to knock them down. Charge up your Stupefy. While getting it charged, walk directly next to your dueling opponent. Fire your charged Stupefy for a one hit kill. This trick can give you five stars for the challenge very quickly and easily.

Knocking Down Crests

Locate the Crest you want to knock down. Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the object you want to use to knock it down. Note: This object can be anywhere and does not have to be in throwing range of the Crest. It is recommended you use either a Dung-bomb or an Exploding Cauldron. Once the object is in the air, hold [Run]. You can now walk around the castle and grounds while still carrying the object in the air. During this time Harry will not run fast. Make sure you keep [Run] held until you get to where the Crest is located. Throw that object at the Crest to knock it down.

Accidentally In Love

When you get to the part where you have to take Ron to professor Slughorn (wellreally you follow Harry as Ron) Ron will have hearts around his head. If you stophe will either do a cool but weird dance or will turn and act cool, but if you getto far from Harry, shout RAMILDA! RAMILDA VANE? !

Crab Goyal Let Me Out!

When you get to the part when crab and goyal trap you in the astronomy tower, you simply cast wingardienliveosa on the leaver and fling it at the gate it will brake then use repairo on it and it will be on the other side of the gate. Once more cast wingardienliveosa on it and put it in the slot.

Easy Mini-Crests

You can get a large amount of Mini-Crests when you have used the Luck Potion and are making your way to Herbology. At this point, every time you use Diffindo to get the Mini-Crests to appear, you will get the full amount of Mini-Crests available, due to your luck. Get as many as possible at this point to help reach the 25, 000 pieces goal.
