Isabel Llorach i Dolsa (Barcelona, 1874-1954), was a leading figure of the bourgeoisie of the early twentieth century in Barcelona, where she stood out for her intense dynamization of the cultural and social life of the city. Nude with Guitar (1894). Ramon Casas y Carbó (Spanish, 1866-1932). Oil on canvas. Cau Ferrat Museum.
Both objects that share this nude, a picture frame and a guitar leaning on the wall, make one think that it was painted in the Casas studio in Barcelona. His family settled there in 1894 and he had a wide and bright space designed specifically as a studio that became also a meeting place and headquarters of several initiatives and cultural activities. Casas was a skilled performer with a guitar.
