Ready To Hear It?
Ramón Morales x Stella Nicholls
Request: Ramón x Stella thing where Ramón comes back from the war and Stella confesses her feelings to him and idk what else to put
Word Count: 2,769
Note: Sorry that I posted this later than promised. You might’ve just wanted a Ramón x Stella moment, but the thought of the three in college, letters from Ramón in Vietnam, and Ramón’s family was something stuck in my head so I included all of that too. If you’d like to send in a request, take a look at the rules.
Also: The random u.s. state generator gave me Texas so that’s where he’s from in this fic (M.G. is actually from there btw!) and I made up family members because the ssttitd writers really didn’t give us much on Ramón’s backstory.
Warning: Brief mentions of the Vietnam war, including an injury/surgery (left hand + broken ribs)
Stella riffled through her backpack once again, checking that she had everything she needed before leaving to Texas. Two years after Ramón left for Vietnam, he came back on a stretcher with three broken ribs and on the verge of losing his left hand.
According to his sister, Elizabeth, he was finally home from the hospital a week and a half later, recovering from a broken hand and lower rib removal surgery.
When Stella received the first phone call from Elizabeth, she and Auggie were in the middle of flipping through flashcards for an upcoming major government test. The knocking on her door woke up Chuck, who was passed out on the floor and tried to reach for it.
Stella beat him to it first, opening the dorm door to the bossy redheaded RA, “Yeah?"
"There’s an Elizabeth on the phone for you down there.” she scrunched her face at the sight of Auggie and Chuck in the room.
Stella turned to look at them, both shrugging. The boys still followed Stella downstairs and stood close by, trying to figure out who the mysterious Elizabeth was.
“Hello?”
“Ah hi, Stella Nicholls?” answered the quiet voice from the other end.
“Yes, this is she. May I ask, who are you?” Stella asked, looking over to the two boys in confusion.
“Oh, I’m Ramón’s sister. He gave me your number some months ago, but I wanted to let you and your friends know that Ramón is back home now and-” her voice cracks and she sniffs, “I’m sorry. He’s injured, but he’s okay.” she manages.
Stella was stunned, “Ramón is back…” she said softly, trying out the words in her own mouth. Stella was afraid saying it any louder would somehow make it false.
“What?” Auggie and Chuck snap in unison, getting closer to the girl.
“Ramón is back.” Stella declared, bringing her hand up to her mouth. “Wait, so he’s injured? Have you seen him?"
"No, he came in four days ago and is held up at the hospital. They won’t tell us more, but we’ll get to see him tonight.” Elizabeth answered her, voice shaking and on the verge of tears. She couldn’t help but to think about her older brother, she lost him and can hardly handle the thought of losing another brother too.
Stella quickly thanked her for thinking of them and asked to be called for any more news on his recovery. When she hung up, the three were all silently staring at the phone, no one knew how to react.
“So Ramón’s back? How is he?” Auggie broke the silence, eyeing his friend carefully.
As Stella started to explain the call, she didn’t realize she was tearing up until Chuck wiped her cheek with his sleeve. She pulled the boys in for a hug, the three letting themselves wallow in a pit of emotions.
Now, while she was packing up to visit him, she couldn’t stop the onslaught of questions she’s already mulled over since the first call.
How much has the war changed him? How is his family dealing with his return? How different could he be now since he last wrote? Is he in a lot of pain? What if he doesn’t want to see us?
She frowned at the last one, she couldn’t think like that now. Not when the three were practically invited by his family with his consent. Plus, Chuck finally convinced his roommate to let the trio borrow his car and make the 20+ hour drive to Houston, Texas.
As Stella walked over to her shelf to grab her journal, the metal tin box containing all of Ramón’s letters caught her eye. Her heart jolted, she opened it up and peered inside, feeling warmth at the sight of the boy’s slanted, tall handwriting. On the nights when Stella had panic attacks, she would open the box and read over bits and pieces of Ramón’s day, finding comfort in his letters.
Stella flipped through some of the trifolded letters, catching random sentences from the top of the papers,
“My mom finally wrote back and she’s not mad at all, I forgot how much I missed her worrying over me…”
“You’re not much of a flower girl, are you? Here’s this neat flower I pressed, the villagers around here call it Hoa Dao-“
“Sorry it’s been so long, the sky’s been pouring buckets on us in the past month and we’ve only…"
"Tell Chuck I won’t be able to write him back until next week, but tell him I said congratulations for winning…”
“but I might go to Japan for R&R in a few months,”
“My dad’s still learning English and he’s practicing some on his letters. It’s the best thing seeing chiquillo next to ‘today I took your sister to the tienda y ya ni la hacen aquí, mijo-’”
“I’m telling you, you’ll be a famous writer. You’ll be selling out all over the world, just wait.”
“oh and there’s this guy here who laughs just like Auggie.”
“This one will be short, the Sgt just got back and already complaining about one grain of sand too many inches to the right- the boys here call him Ol’ Knuckles,”
“Also, remind Chuck to add 5th platoon to my address,”
“but the package that my sister sent me lasted a good two days because-”
“and he had to tackle this stupid scrawny kid to the ground as soon as the dirt started kicking up,”
“the team did lose two men before we got there though, they left a rosary behind and I didn’t even notice there was a-”
What if I tell him?
That’s a question she’s been avoiding, but it still managed to pop up out of nowhere. Stella never really figured out when she started to have strong feelings for Ramón. Maybe it was when they were running around Mill Valley together trying to figure out the Bellows girl. Maybe it was in the midst of writing back and forth, finding ease in his words. Stella felt silly, she knew she liked him the minute she barged into his car at that drive-in, but she did not expect for the small crush to stick around for that long.
Stella felt conflicted with the idea of confessing to her first real crush. What if he could only see the two as friends while she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about him for the past two years? Plus, Ramón just came back from Vietnam and if she considered the stories of those who have come back, would he even care about something like this right now?
She felt her heart twitch at the thought of Ramón’s head still stuck on the other side of the Pacific.
The knock on her door snapped Stella out of her thoughts. Putting the box back on the shelf, she grabbed her journal and went out to Chuck. He flashed her a goofy smile and dangled his roommate’s car keys by the fingers, “I’m driving first, already argued with Auggie about it and it’s settled.”
The drive to Texas was a long one, the three would switch between driving, reading off from the map and sleeping in the backseat. The first time Auggie was on the wheel, they accidentally veered off course because Chuck apparently doesn’t know how to hold a map. The pair argued in hushed voices, but Auggie’s frustration still woke up Stella. She groggily pushed her way up front and looked over the map, commenting on Chuck’s great sense of direction. Immediately, she pointed her finger at the new route they found themselves in and flopped back down.
In a small town where they stopped to get gas, a couple of middle school students were playing baseball in a nearby field and nearly missed the car’s windshield by an inch. In a split second, Stella was having to hold Chuck back from freaking out on them and had Auggie throw the ball back to the apologetic kids.
Later that night at a lonely rest stop’s restroom, the boys rushed out of there swearing up and down the men’s room was haunted. “Stella, I’m telling you, the only flickering light was the one in the last stall. We were washing our hands and we suddenly heard shaky humming from there, with no one inside.” Chuck widened his eyes and wiggled his fingers at Stella.
The tall grass that surrounded the rest stop waved about from the light wind, seeming to make waves towards the woods. As the three looked beyond the pasture, following the waves into the trees, they could barely make out several tall, slender figures in the moonlight at the edge of the woods.
“Those are just tree trunks right?” Auggie asked quietly, until one of the “tree trunks” seemed to let itself glide back like a blade of grass from the wind.
“Alright, I believe you.” Stella admitted as the three rushed into the car, she began to pull out of the parking lot, “I’m so not dealing with this shit again.”
They drove a few towns over before agreeing to stop at another rest stop that wasn’t completely abandoned and slept in the car for a few hours.
Once they reached the Louisiana-Texas border, Auggie and Stella kept their eyes peeled as they drove an hour into Houston. They managed to find Ramón’s house after passing by it twice and knocked on his door.
Elizabeth welcomed them in, “Hey, my parents are out right now, but Ramón’s awake upstairs.” she noted, closing the door behind them.
Chuck and Auggie immediately noticed the wall of family pictures by the entrance. Elizabeth was quick to point out Ramón’s baby pictures and mentioned the charming resemblance between him and their older brother. Stella looked closer at the image of Ramón and his siblings at a pool before following Elizabeth upstairs.
They stopped at the first white door to the right and lightly knocked, “Ramón, your friends are here.”
After hearing his “come in”, she opened the door to see Ramón sitting on his bed, occupied with his younger brother. The toddler was too distracted with his plastic dinosaurs to notice the visitors, only looking up when Ramón stopped playing with him and finally noticed everyone at the door.
“Vente,” Elizabeth held her arms out to the small boy, “en un rato juegas con Món.”
The toddler hesitated with leaving Ramón, but after getting his older brother’s go-ahead he walked over to Elizabeth’s arms. The two disappearing into the hallway.
“Món?” Chuck asked cheekily as Ramón carefully got up.
“Mateo can only pronounce Món and it stuck,” Ramón smirked, “also, I can’t hug you entirely, so you’ll have to do with my right side.” he informed, getting closer to the three.
Stella was the first to hug him, careful with his left side as she buried her face into his shoulder, “If either of you start crying, I’ll start crying too.” Ramón jokingly warned, hand stroking her hair.
“You hear that, Chucks?” Auggie nudged Chuck’s arm before hugging Ramón.
“Yeah, whatever. I’ll start bawling for our guy here any minute now.” Chuck quipped before turning serious, “No really, we missed you dude.”
“Me too Chucks, even when your letters would keep on ending up miles away from me.” Ramón pulled Chuck in.
The four settled on his bed, catching up with him for hours into the afternoon. Chuck even took the liberty of drawing on his small arm cast, “Does your hand hurt?” he asked, doodling himself onto the white.
“Right now it doesn’t, mostly numb thanks to the pills. I still don’t know when I’ll be able to move it and use it.” Ramón noted as Stella grabbed another marker and started to draw a dragon onto his cast.
When Ramón’s parents came home, they invited the three to stay for dinner. Despite the awkward communication and Auggie’s choppy Spanish, they were all comfortable at the table. Most of all, Stella felt content with Ramón sitting next to her and seeing him with his family. Even considered confessing her heart out later that night, but she was still anxious about his reaction.
After hearing that the trio planned on staying at a hotel for the night, Mr. and Mrs. Morales did not like the idea. “En un hotel? No, como crees. Diles que por lo menos se queden aquí esta noche y ya ven si se van a un hotel mañana.” Mrs. Morales told her daughter, eyes darting between the three.
“Mija, deja que se duerman en tu cuarto, tú te vas con Ramón.” Mr. Morales added.
Elizabeth smiled, “My parents want the three of you to consider staying here at least for tonight. You guys can sleep in my room, there are two beds there.” she translated.
Chuck’s eyebrows shot up, “Really? There’s no trouble?” he asked.
“Nah, you guys are fine. My other sister, Ana, is out of town this week and Elizabeth will sleep in my room.” Ramón assured.
The three thanked Mr. and Mrs. Morales with an awkward, but genuine “gracias”. Chuck and Auggie even got up to help Mrs. Morales gather and take the dishes to the kitchen, much to Ramón’s amusement. Left alone at the table, Ramón and Stella decided to go back upstairs with Mateo on her hip.
Ramón went into the restroom, took out a bottle of pills from behind the mirror and started to brush his teeth, “Ever since the surgery I’ve been getting tired easily and these pills knock me out.” he explained. “Won’t be able to stay up with you.”
“It’s no problem, we need some sleep too.” Stella let Mateo down once he nudged at her arm to get down.
I should tell him now.
There it was again, she pondered over confessing as she followed him into his room. For a while, the two were deep in conversation on his bed until he started to drift off, “Sorry if I just fall asleep on you.” he apologized with a small smile.
“Ramón, I…” Stella hesitated, biting her lip. Ramón’s eyes fluttered open a bit, trying to listen to anything else she had to say.
As Ramón’s eyes grew heavy, Stella tried again. “I think I…” she began, hands fidgeting on her lap. “I think I’m in love with you.” she whispered, it was finally out but Ramón was already asleep.
The next morning as everyone went downstairs for breakfast, Ramón winked at Stella and pulled her close for a hug, “Good morning, how did you sleep?” he asked with a raspy voice.
“Alright, you?” she chirped, the idea of him having heard her last night racing through her head.
“I actually slept pretty well, no nightmares. Think it helps that you’re all here.” Ramón smiled, not knowing what he was doing to the poor girl’s heart. “Tonight, you, Auggie and Chuck should stay in my room to keep the jungle away for another night.” he added.
After breakfast, Mr. and Mrs. Morales rushed to work, promising everyone they’d come home early. Everyone settled to watch TV in the living room except Elizabeth, who had already secured plans with her friends.
“Mateo’s fine with four babysitters today, huh?” Elizabeth commented, carrying the toddler over to Chuck and Auggie’s place on the couch. The two kept the smaller boy laughing by mocking the voices of characters from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! on screen. On the other couch, Ramón and Stella sat close with his right arm over her shoulders, hand mindlessly playing with her hair.
Once the three boys tired themselves out from imitating random noises from the TV, they fell asleep with Mateo sprawled out over the older boys. Stella took the opportunity to tell Ramón how she felt, again.
“Ramón, last night in your room.” she recalled, feeling his gaze on her. “I told you something I don’t think you heard.”
“I heard you, Stella.” Ramón nodded, “I can tell it’s hard for you, but I know what you said last night.” he kissed her temple reassuringly.
“Yeah, it’s hard but I feel like I need to make myself clear.” Stella explained, finally turning to look at him.
Ramón shook his head, “That’s okay, every time I got your letters it would become more and more clear. I feel like I’m the one who hasn’t made myself clear,” he cooed. Hearing that, Stella felt her heart at ease.
“Ready to hear it?” he asked with a knowing smile.
Before he continued, Stella spontaneously began to pepper kisses all over his face, drawing out a soft giggle from Ramón.

A Long List of the Many Things I Loved About ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.’
A cast of legitimately likable teenage characters (minus the obligatory jackass, of course). Usually teenage horror movie characters are so obnoxious that you find yourself rooting for the killer whereas here I didn’t want any of them to get hurt aside from Tommy.
Great atmosphere and set design, some shots look like they should be paintings.
Practical effects! Gotta love them! God, those monsters look like the literally stepped right off the page.
As someone who enjoys something solid in my horror movies, I greatly appreciated the socio-political commentary and subject to the film.
Solid, enjoyable acting across the board, even if the dialogue is sometimes clunky.
Usually in fiction when there is a quirky trio of outcasts it is arranged thusly: Main character/hero (male), comic relief best friend (male), and the girl who is almost always the main heroes love interest. However, in this film Stella is the lead while Auggie and Chuck are HER sidekicks. The romance also comes from an outside 3rd party, though there are a few lines that seem to suggest Auggie has some less-than-platonic feelings for Stella.
One that note, Stella is NEVER SEXUALIZE! Yes, she is only about 15 but that hasn’t stopped other films. The film even rises above having her dress as a sexy witch! Also, despite the obvious attraction between the two, the romance between Stella and Ramon is kept appropriate due to they’re age difference and yet is still both compelling and endearing.
Continuing on that, all the men in Stella’s life are protecting and encouraging figures. Her father, despite not being as present as he’d like to be, encourages her to go out with her friends and have fun (remember, in the 60s a girl hanging out with only boys would be odd and the subject of gossip), Auggie and Ramon both encourage her to share her writing, Auggie and Chuck stuck by her growing up are notable angered when Charlie brings up Stella’s mom. MORE OF THESE KINDS OF RELATIONSHIPS HOLLYWOOD!
Ramon’s reaction to Stella crawling into his car vs Ramon’s reaction to Chuck and Auggie crawling into his car. It’s basically -🤨😉🥰 vs 🤨😒🙄.
Stella and Ramon meeting during a screening of and bonding over a showing ‘Night of the Living Dead’. Not only because it’s incredibly fitting and I love the film, but because my own grandparents had they’re first date going to see that film when they were 15 and are still happily together 47 years later.
Stella and Ramon’s adorably innocent romance? I’m a complete slut for it. Hand holding, head on shoulder, long emotional embraces, forced apart by fate but communiating through letters? These are all things I LOVE!
Ramon showing off a bit for Stella. The lockpicking? The switchblade reveal? The instant protectiveness? Come on, he’s peacocking because while he’s a total sweetheart, he’s also a teenage boy.
Chuck and Auggie’s Halloween costumes. Chuck: I want to be Spider-Man! Chuck’s mom: We don’t have the rights!
Auggie being the most realist depiction of a hungry teenage boy. He doesn’t know where this mystery stew came from and neither does his mom and his friends are begging him not to eat anything but DAMNIT he’s hungry so down the hatch!
THE LOOK ON AUGGIE AND CHUCK’S FACES WHEN RAMON AND STELLA START TO FLIRT IN FRONT OF THEM WHICH CAN THUS BE SUMMED UP AS ‘WTF IS HAPPENING?’ As someone who grew up with mostly guy fiends they’ve all told be they have similar reactions when other men started showing interest in me.

All I need this christmas/ Chuck steinberg x reader
Tumblr media
(Cute) Chuck x Reader request, where reader is spending Christmas time with her boyfriend Chuck, his sister Ruth and his friends Stella, Ramon and Auggie, because Y/n's parents are neglecting her and she is sad, so Chuck wants to make her happy, so he dresses up like Santa Claus (and he convinces Auggie and Ramon to dress up like him), and when Y/n is baking cookies with Ruth and Stella, boys are visiting them as three Santas, and it ends with watching Christmas movies, kissing and cuddling?
@venomsymbioteandparasite this is good! And so so sooooo sorry this took forever!
Chuck told me that he had really big early Christmas gift for me and that I should come over. I'll be happy spending it with my boyfriend other than my family who doesn't even care if I leave this house and don't come back, sure it hurt but now I'm just used to it. I walked to my parents bedroom,
"Mom, dad, I'm gonna be a Chuck's house." I said threw the door. They didn't even answer, I grabbed my bag and put stuff in it and started to walk to chuck's house crying.
Chuck's POV
"Chuck, do we both need to be santa? I look ridiculous!" Auggie said falling over his pants, "I'm with auggie on this one, this beard is itchy." Ramon added,
"Yes we have too! Y/N is gonna love so go back home and I'll tell you guys when, so Y/N will have the best Christmas ever!" I said putting my outfit in my bag and told auggie and ramon bye.
Y/N's POV
I made it to chuck's house, I wiped my tears away before knocking on the door,
"She's here!!" Chuck said very excited, he opened the door and immediately saw how red my eyes are, "Baby come here." He pulled me into his arms. "You know you can always stay with me, my family loves you and wouldn't mind letting you stay for christmas." He kissed my cheek, "I would love that." I said trying smiling a little bit. Chuck pulled me inside and I took off my jacket,
"So remember how I said I had a big early Christmas gift for you?"
"Yeah?"
"Well I'm gonna go get it now so will you be okay by yourself for a few minutes?"
"Yes chuck I'll-"
"Great! I'll be back, love ya!" He kissed me and ran out the door before I could finish what I was saying but that's chuck for you.
I was watching TV when I heard something for the kitchen, "Surprise!!!" It was Stella and ruth, "You guys!" I hugged them. "Let's bake some cookies!" Stella said passing a cookie sheet and ruth started shaping the gingerbread men, "You guys are making my christmas a lot better."
"Of course! Everyone deserves to be happy on christmas, especially you Y/N." Ruth said putting flower on my nose, it made stella laughed.
After cooking the cookies we were covered in flower. We changed clothes but when we came downstairs I thought about chuck, "When do you guys think he'll be back?" I asked, "I'm sure chuck will be back any minute now!" Stella said, but after she said that I started hearing sleigh bells outside.
"Uh? Is that outside?" They looked me more confused then I was, I opened the door to the most cutest and beautiful thing,
"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas Y/N!" Chuck said trying so hard sound like santa it was adorable! Ramon and auggie came out holding up signs saying "I love you Y/N!"
"Thank you!" I jumped in chuck's arms, he gave me a box and I opened it. It was the picture chuck took of us on our first date in a beautiful frame. "This is everything I could have wish for." I kissed him and hugged auggie and ramon.
We watched how the grinch stole christmas and ate the cookies me and stella and ruth made, "Thank you again chuck, this really is the best christmas present ever." I said just before he kissed me passionately, I felt like I was on clouds, "Alright love birds." Ruth said making chuck blush and make me laugh. This is everything I need for christmas.

Count To Ten
Ramón Morales x Stella Nicholls
Request: Ramón comforting Stella when she has a panic attack about Sarah Bellows
-Wanna send in a request? Take a look at the rules here :)
Word Count: 1,264
Warning: whole panic attack at the end
Note: Not too sure how exactly Ramón got hurt when he fell cause it looks like he nearly broke a bone there, but I hereby diagnose him with a sprained ankle in this fic.
Also: I made this more about losing Chuck and Auggie instead and there's some Roy/Ramón interaction :)
Stella and Ramón slowly trudged along down the middle of the wet road, holding each other close. The heavy downpour from earlier seemed to have stopped, but the clouds still loomed over the town with the promise of more rain. Even with the angry thunder above them, both were too tired and numb to fear what lurked in the shadows between every house they passed. For them, the Bellows’ house had already done enough in terrorizing them for the night.
At Stella’s insistence, Ramón had his right arm across her shoulders, letting her help him make their way through the streets. Once Stella’s house came into view, Ramón stopped in his tracks, “What if your dad sees me?” he asked, eyes set on the dark front porch.
“That doesn’t matter right now, we need to check that out.” Stella pointed at his leg.
“Pretty sure it’s not that bad.” Ramón assured her, minimizing his wincing once he noticed the worry on her face.
“If that were the case, you wouldn’t be hobbling around.” Stella scoffed, cracking a small smile.
“Okay but-”
“Stella?” a gruff voice asked from the driveway, both noticing Stella’s dad stepping out from his truck.
“Dad?” Stella hesitated, carefully letting go of Ramón and hurriedly ran into Roy’s arms.
Roy held his daughter tight, “Oh sweetheart, a-are you okay? I was so worried, I-” his voice began to break.
“I’m fine, I’m so sorry for making you worry.” she apologized, burying her face into his shoulder.
“I'm just glad you're back, Stella.” he kissed her forehead, “Who's your friend by the way?” he asked, curiously eyeing down Ramón.
Stella broke away and waved the boy over, “That’s Ramón, pretty much helped me stop the madness that’s been going on in town.” she explained, “He’s also hurt and needs our help, dad.”
Ramón got closer and extended his hand, “It’s nice to meet you, please excuse my appearance, never meant to meet like this.”
Roy smiled and shook his hand, “Let’s get you patched up while you two can tell me what happened, yeah?”
Both Roy and Stella helped Ramón up the porch steps and ushered him into the hall bathroom. “Is he gonna need stitches?” Stella asked, frowning when she got a better look of Ramón’s cut in the bathroom light.
“Doesn’t look deep, we’ll need to clean that and I’ll stitch him up if it’s necessary.” Roy assured her, ordering Ramón to sit down on the toilet seat as he washed his hands.
Stella was surprised, she never knew her dad could stitch a wound. Roy smiled at her confusion, “Had to learn when your aunt and I would run around wild in the woods as kids. Your grandma was sick of always fixing us up, so she made us learn how to stitch. That way we’d help each other every time we fell off some damn tree.” he chuckled at the memory.
Amused, Stella washed her hands and jumbled around inside a drawer. She found her old glasses inside a black case, storing away the cracked glasses and putting on the old ones, deciding they were still good enough.
Roy looked inside the sink cabinet, taking out the first aid kit and handed several small washcloths to Stella, advising her to start cleaning around the cut. Stella carefully patted around the cut with soap and water as Ramón wiped the dry blood off his face.
Stella stepped aside and leaned against the sink, watching her dad deal with the cut next. When she was ready, Ramón and Stella began their story, adding details one after the other. Roy listened to the two carefully, adding butterfly bandages to Ramón's cut and looking at his leg as they explained the cursed book to him. Roy bandaged another cut in Ramón's lower leg and lightly poked at the boy's ankle, realizing it was sprained.
His attention was torn away from Ramón completely when Stella began to tear up at the mention of Chuck and Auggie's disappearance. Ramón continued with the story until Stella had to explained her interaction with Sarah, “She really was there, dad. She seemed like she was still in a lot of pain, then she just let go.” Stella finished and rubbed her arm.
Roy recognized the familiar heartache in her eyes, the last he had seen of it was only a few months ago on her mother’s birthday. He stood up and gently pulled her in for a hug, “I'm proud of you, Stella. You’re not alone, you’ve still got us.” he whispered.
Stella hummed and opened an eye to Ramón, “Is he gonna be okay?” she asked, nudging her dad’s arm. Roy turned to Ramón, letting them know he simply had a sprained ankle. He advised Ramón to go easy on his foot and suggested they all go to sleep.
The two left Ramón in the bathroom to wash up. Wishing each other goodnight, Stella shuffled into her room, still feeling the heaviness of the old house on her chest since she left. Sarah’s at peace now, but her friends? Why did she keep having to lose everyone in her life?
Shaking the thoughts away, Stella closed the door shut behind her. Not wanting to see traces of her friends scattered across her room, she changed into her sleepwear in the dark. Putting on her pants, she stubbed her pinky toe on the edge of Auggie’s Biology book underneath her bed and shoved it away.
After pulling a clean cotton shirt on, she stretched her hands out and around for her favorite sweatshirt. Getting closer to her wardrobe, her hand brushed against Chuck’s baseball cap hanging on a hook and her throat tightened. The cap was “Chuck’s blue”, a cobalt blue with a silly yellow “Mama’s Boy” pin clasped to the front. Originally a Christmas present from his mother, Chuck would pretend to hate it, but he’d wear it for days on end and would leave it anywhere.
“Chuckie.” she whispered, feeling the weight on her chest get more heavy. Her trembling hands clutched the blue cap and she held it tight against her stomach, feeling breathless. Stella’s head was spinning, a sudden string of questions and memories of her friends flooded her head.
Letting out a sob, Stella clamped a hand over her mouth and leaned against the wardrobe. She sat down, feeling the cool wood against her cheek, and inhaled, the simple motion rattling her chest. She felt she was suffocating without Chuck or Auggie, another chunk of her world lost to a curse.
The knocking on her door seemed distant, she could only let out a whimper. Stella saw the door open, the fuzzy hall light illuminated Ramón’s face, who was hardly recognizable as her eyes began to distort everything around her. In an instant, Ramón was by her side on the floor. Stella’s weak hand reached for one of his arms, keeping her eyes shut and focusing on her breathing. Ramón’s short questions were muffled to her, sensing this he quietly asked again and again until they were clear to her, “Can you hear me?”
She nodded, inhaling sharply and opened her eyes to see him. Ramón calmly suggested they count breaths together, Stella agreed and tightened her hold on Chuck’s cap. She let out another sob in frustration after the first attempt, but eventually she was able to slow her breathing and even joined Ramón in his slow countdown to ten.
“We’ll count to ten for as long as you need to, Stella.”
“I wanna count until we reach Chuck and Auggie.”

Roller Skating
Ramón Morales x Reader
Request: May I request a Ramón x Reader where they’re both heavily pining over each other but neither will go past flirting. Auggie, Chuck and Stella are over it so when reader invites them to the roller rink, match making ensues? 💗 Thank you got your time!
-Request? You can find the rules here-
At first, the lingering gazes, blushing, teasing and endless flow of compliments between the two of you was cute, even exciting for the gang
Now? It was frustrating seeing neither of you make a move already
Chuck outright just blurts out anything at this point: “Get a room, fools! Just start making out!”
The two of you usually ignore him and roll your eyes
Auggie and Stella take the passive aggressive route and rant about it in the walkie talkies when they know one of you could be listening
“Ya know, Stella, I may not know much about relationships, but even I know you gotta do something when you’ve made a strong connection with someone and they’re RIGHT IN FRONT-”
“Hey, guys! Nice to catch you here!”
You’re usually the one to interrupt them before they finish their obvious hinting over the walkie talkies
You were used to Chuck teasing you about your feelings, it was just Chuck being Chuck!
But when Stella and Auggie are talking about it, that meant the situation was getting serious and it was quite honestly embarrassing for you!
Stella and Ruth immediately knew how you felt, they had cornered you and forced a confession out figured it out first
But eventually even Chuck and Auggie caught on pretty quick from simply watching you and Ramón act “weird” (later figuring out you two were, in fact, flirting)
At first, they ask you a million questions about you and Ramón
You’d attempt to brush it off as if though it wasn’t a big deal
But they wouldn’t buy it and would not hesitate in teasing you for it
Figuring out you weren’t gonna be asking the guy out anytime soon- they target Ramón instead
They begin to grill him about it whenever they’re alone with him- making a whole list of reasons of why he should make a move already
“And most importantly, we won’t have to watch the two of you suffer and make puppy eyes at each other-”
“Alright, I think I get it.”
“Do you really?!”
Chuck and Auggie even have Ruth join in on bullying persuading Ramón
One night on the walkie talkies, when the whole gang is talking about what to do during the weekend, you suggest going out to roller skate
You’ve been wanting to learn how to skate and wanted to try it out with them
“I’m down.”
“Yeah same here, been wanting to go in a while.”
“Uh, I don’t know I can’t skate either, what if we j-”
“No wait, that’s actually a great idea!”
“I don’t know, Stella.”
“Listen, it’s. a. great. Idea.”
“OH, you’re right! See you guys then.”
They all agreed on skating a little too quickly for your liking, but for now you were happy they all even agreed on something
When you get to the roller rink, Stella, Auggie and Chuck break off from you and Ramón for a second and begin to quietly argue among themselves
The last thing you managed to hear was “Okay? Cool, I’ll go first.”
It was Stella, who you were hoping could help you not make a fool out of yourself
When you ask her to wait for you- she turns to you with small smile, a nod to Ramón and a quick wink before skating off
You turn to Chuck and Auggie in disbelief, who already had the most obnoxious smirks across their faces and simply give you a thumbs up
They were setting you up to have to rely on Ramón… which meant holding his hand
Before you could even protest or join them, Chuck and Auggie quickly left- already holding on to each other’s arms and betting on who’s falling first
Next to you stood Ramón
“You said you needed help, right?”
“Yeah, I really do.”
He offers his hand and you take it, already feeling yourself turn red
You can’t seem to move your legs when Ramón leads you into the rink
“Just relax, I promise you won’t fall.”
“Easy for you to say, I’m gonna fall any minute now and Chuck won’t let me forget it. Look, he’s already watching me.”
“Yeah well he’s already fallen on his ass like three times and he’s not letting that stop him.”
“Hmm.”
“Come on, pouty face- just trust me.”
You freeze up and hold Ramón’s hand tight when you feel your legs wiggle, making him laugh and reassure you that he won’t let you fall
“I trust you, Ramón, but if I fall... I’m taking you down.”
“I’ve already been counting on it.”
You whine and playfully smack him, drawing out more cute giggles from him
He leads you around the rink once before you decide to finally start moving your legs
He begins to skate backwards, holding both of your hands as you attempt walking around
“See now you’re just showing off.”
“Maybe, but I’m just making sure you don’t hurt yourself.”
And yes, you nearly lose your balance numerous times, but Ramón is quick to hold you steady
After a while, you’re good enough to be on your own, but you don’t want to let go of him anytime soon
And he doesn’t seem to either
Then you hear it, “Hey, look at those lovebirds!”
Chuck, Auggie and Stella all pull up next to you, obviously proud about the hand holding
You can’t help but to smile at Chuck’s comment this time
You turn to look at Ramón, who was now much closer to you
Smiling from your reaction, he kisses your cheek
You’re completely flustered and even more so when half of the rink’s attention turned to your friends’ loud cheering
You bury your face into Ramón’s shoulder, hearing Auggie and Stella high five each other
Chuck falls from all the commotion, but he’s happy and pumps his fists to the air
“LADIES AND GENTS, WE FINALLY GOT SOMETHING!”

No Spiders There
Ramón Morales x Reader
Request: Can you do a fluffy lil Ramón x reader 👀
Word Count: 1,341 (definitely not lil, sorry!)
Note: You know the drill, our boys are back and Ramón did not leave :) Also, if you’d like send in a request, take a look at the rules.
Warning: Mentions of underage drinking (it’s none of these kids tho)
“Wait. Ramón stop, I’m serious.” you giggle, trying to get him to hold still as he dodges his head away from your fingers.
You were currently kneeling on the sofa over the grinning boy, his left leg between your knees. Ramón finally sat still, grabbing your hip when he noticed your leg wobble from his swift movements. You finally pulled at the last piece of white thread tangled on his hair, remnant of the “spooky spider prank” Chuck pulled when he answered his door to the two of you. You proudly show Ramón the strand as you tousle his hair, “Gotta also make sure there’s no more fake spiders in th-”
“Ahem. Can the two of you please stop making out in my living room? C'mon, before my mom sees you and starts waving the Bible around.” Chuck interrupted as he walked in, tugging at the sleeves of his peculiar Halloween costume.
You however, finally notice just how close you were to Ramón, not to mention his hand on your hip and his thumb on the waistband of your skirt, dangerously close to touching your skin. You quickly get up, ignoring the small smirk forming on his lips or the amused look on his eyes, which have definitely noticed the blush blossoming on your cheeks by now.
Turning his attention away from you- Ramón zeroed in on Chuck’s costume, “That’s a weird Superman costume.“
"Yeah, it doesn’t have the S. What’s up with that?” you hear Ruth ask from the restroom, fixing her shiny Glinda the Good Witch crown over her hair.
“I’ve been telling you guys I’m Doctor Strange this year!” Chuck whined, waving his orange gloves around and pointing to the round gold plastic clip that held his red cape around his shoulders.
You adjust your black headband cat ears, “Alright then Doctor Strange, do you think Auggie’s really going to be a vampire again this year?” you ask.
Right on time you hear knocking on the door, Stella’s blonde wig flashing by the front window. Chuck opens the door to Count Dracula and Melanie Daniels.
“Well, how do we look?” Auggie bares his pair of plastic pointy teeth. Stella brushes past the tall boy and poses in her green suit with two pinned mock birds secured on her jacket, you give her two thumbs up.
“That’s a vampire alright.” Ramón answers you from behind.
“I am Dracula, big significant difference. And why aren’t you dressed?” Auggie huffs, everyone turning to look at Ramón.
Ramón shrugs, “Guess I ran out of time to come up with something. But okay, if we find a cowboy hat and a red bandanna at this party… then I’m your cowboy.” he suggests, sending you a wink as you shake your head. Already wearing his leather jacket and a white shirt, everyone accepted his excuse- mumbling something about getting him an actual costume next year.
The party Ramón mentioned is the one big Halloween party being thrown at some cheerleader’s house this year, just about every teen in Mill Valley was invited and Ruth insisted on leading the five of you into it. The Good Witch glides out of the restroom, “Very well then children, off we go.” she announces, pointing her small wand to the door.
Everyone decided to walk to the party (with the exception of Ramón giving you a piggyback ride halfway there) since it was only three blocks away from the Steinberg household. Once you got to the two-story house guarded by jack-o-lanterns and several skeletons, you could hear the chatter and music from outside.
“This place is a freaking mansion. Should we knock?” Chuck held his hand over the front double doors. Before anyone could reply, the right door swung open and a tall, lanky Mickey Mouse pushed his way out. Behind him, a giggling Minnie Mouse hot on his trail.
“Well I’m gonna go find Chelsea, okay? I don’t want to see any of you drinking anything that’s been handed to you, especially you Chuck.” Ruth warned, making her point clear as she stood in front of the doorway with her hands on her hips.
Inside, you immediately recognized half of Mill Valley High seniors dancing in the spacious living room. Before you could take another step you felt an arm wrap around your waist, stopping you from running into the supporting pillar of the extensive staircase. Realizing the arm belonged to Ramón, you turned around, already losing yourself in his eyes and thanked him.
Before either of you could say anything else, you hear Chuck snicker to Auggie, “Guess he should be her boyfriend for Halloween, huh?” Auggie rolls his eyes and groans, didn’t seem like the first time Chuck made that joke so far. Auggie and Stella push Chuck into the crowd before he opened his mouth again. Ramón’s eyes move from Chuck to you as if he was checking for your reaction. After you give him a blank look -hoping to seem like you didn’t hear it, he suggests going to the kitchen.
In there, several band kids were cheering on Frankenstein to drink what remained of a Vodka bottle sneaked from the upstairs study. Others simply danced around the kitchen, while two girls were impressively dancing on the counter without knocking any drinks or snacks. The two of you push your way to the bowls of candy, you grab a cup and fill it to the brim with peanut M&Ms.
You turn to Ramón, getting close to his ear “Let’s go dance.” you say over the music and the kitchen crowd hoots, which were now on a mummy and a wolf competing on who could finish their drink first.
Ramón pulls you closer, “Sorry, but I can’t dance.” he shrugs. You scoff, noticing a tiny abandoned cowboy hat sitting on the counter, you place it on his head.
“I don’t believe you, cowboy.” happy with his smile from his new nickname, you grab his hand and lead him to the living room. Unable to spot your friends, you start dancing on the spot. Your only audience being Ramón, who took his place leaning against the wall to admire you.
After two songs you send Ramón a pout, “You can’t just stand there the whole night.” waving him closer.
“I can if it’s you, kitty.” he laughs, stepping closer to you, “C'mon, let’s go outside. It’s getting pretty stuffy in here."
Putting his hand on the small of your back, Ramón leads you through a hall and over to a small porch on the side of the house. He quickly turned off the porch light to avoid the interest of others joining the two of you there.
The sudden lack of light made you jump, taking your eyes time to adjust to the moonlight as the two of you sit on the porch swing. Ramón chuckles, apologizing for scaring you before unexpectedly pulling you closer to kiss your forehead.
You freeze, heart beating a 100 miles per hour. Did he just… kiss your forehead? You gaze into his dark eyes, "You’re absolutely adorable and gorgeous, you know that?” he asks before you could say anything else.
You roll your eyes, “Of course I am, cowboy. You’re lucky I spend my precious time with you almost all day, everyday.” you tease, drawing a sweet smile from him.
“I sure am.” he confides softly, still holding you close. You bite your bottom lip, trying your best from spilling your heart out on that porch. You were sure he could probably hear it hammering against your chest by now.
Ramón’s eyes dart from your eyes to your lips. Caressing your face, he presses two small kisses on your cheek before stopping at your lips, waiting for you to close the distance. You meet his soft lips, wrapping an arm around his neck. He lets out a low hum while you softly run your fingers through his hair, knocking off the small hat.
You smile into the kiss, briefly breaking away just a bit, “No spiders there.”

More Random SSTTITD Headcanons
-If you haven’t read the first set of SSTTITD headcanons, I suggest you do so to avoid any possible confusion when reading this one :)
-This one ended up being pretty long, sorry about that. Same old note tho: Everyone is back, safe and no one’s registered for the war.
-There’s a bit of IT x SSTTITD crossover at the end- which includes a small reference to a scene from IT Chapter Two, nothing major but I’d still include it as a minor spoiler just in case
That dog from last time? After the gang walked him around town all day and asked everyone about the dog, they just couldn’t find the owner
They still put up Found Dog posters around
Chuck wants to let the dog stay at his house in the meantime but his mother won’t allow it
Chuck rants on the walkie talkie for three nights in a row about how he’ll never get a d-
“Chuck, just go to sleep already- he’s safe with me.”
After a while, Ramón decides to keep him for good
That dog follows Ramón everywhere now
The owner of the animal shelter is a sweet old lady who lets Ramón bring his dog to work and hang out with other dogs
The gang still argue over a proper name for the dog btw
“I’m telling you guys we should go with Galactus.”
“He’s too much of a sweetheart to be named after that purple horn guy, he looks like a Max.”
"Let's name him after a month like our boy here, how's December sound?"
"Haha very funny."
“Well what about Chip? From the night we met him…”
“You want to name him after the cookies you burned?”
“....”
The gang go stargazing sometimes
They're all sprawled out on a blanket in a field
Stella talks about what she can remember about her mom
She's an exhausted mix of sadness and anxiety, some anger too
The boys just listen and offer support while she gets teary eyed
She also talks about how scared and worried she was for Chuck and Auggie when they disappeared
Neither boy wants to talk about what happened when they were gone yet
But they reassure her that they don't blame her for any of it even if she might for taking Sarah's book
They all promise each other to always protect each other
Chuck then admits he worries about his sister more often than not
Whether she actually gets the love and respect she deserves from the guys she dates
And he's noticed that his mother can sometimes be too critical of Ruth which actually upsets him
Ramón then tells them about his older brother
His older brother who passed his car down to Ramón
His older brother who told all sorts of stories whenever their family stayed up talking in the kitchen
His older brother who would let him tag along when he'd sneak out to hang out with their cousins
Ramón didn't even notice he was crying until Auggie hands him a napkin and then sits up to offer a hug
Yes, there's a group hug
They're all crying at 3 a.m. in a dark field but they're hugging and promising each other that they'll be okay
Ramón's nameless dog is licking their tears away
The moon is full that night which inspires Auggie to suggest they name the dog Apollo
After the moon landing on the summer of '69
They all actually agree with this one for once
I was inspired by @rabbitkind idea of IT x SSTTITD
If they had all been born around the same decade- both groups meeting as kids would be awesome
Yeah, the four of them would still be older by a few years, but that wouldn’t stop everyone from hanging out anyway
Chuck, Eddie, and Richie? That's three chaotic brain cells hard at work
“You’ve got double the dorks that I deal with.” -Stella to Bev at some point
They would totally be up for a fight against Bowers and his cronies if they’d see them start harassing the Losers
Omg the Losers piling into the back of Ramón’s car tho
There’s elbows and knees flying and many threats of being “sent to the trunk if you don’t just sit on my lap already.”
At some point Auggie and Stella have all seven of them get out, work it out and sit back in the squished order they can all agree with.
Coins were flipped on who was sitting on laps: Eddie, Richie and Stan lost
I do love the idea of the gang in their late 30s finding ways to defend/protect the Losers Club tho
Like… hey guys, lets pretty much adopt seven kids while we fight off this clown
Be the guardians they needed when they faced their monsters back then
But like… imagine Pennywise getting to them
Whether they're adults or kids (idk maybe Pennywise decided to travel to Mill Valley in the 60s)
((On that note: AU where Sarah wrote Pennywise into both towns :O and Stella would just *UNO Reverse Card*))
((Ok that's not the point of this hc, just wanted to throw that out there))
Pennywise taunting Stella about her depressed dad and making her feel guilty
Showing her Chuck, Auggie and Ramón being tortured
Auggie is just making soup and the clown crawls out of the pot
"Why don't you add a pinch of salt and some toes there, son?"
Haunts Chuck with the idea of being doomed to hell in the twisted form of his Christian mother
Also shows Ruth being torn apart by giant spiders
Toying around with Ramón's memories of his brother- seeing his brother's head crawl around à la Stanley's head coming out of the fridge
Or if we're talking adult Ramón and don't ignore canon this time: knowing Ramón is a veteran with ptsd, Pennywise makes him relive his Vietnam war trauma :(
Pennywise taking the form of an angry, demonic Sarah Bellows who lurks in dark corners and chases the gang around Mill Valley
That’s what makes Stella angry the most, “I literally just got rid of Sarah and this clown wants to play around like this?!”
Ok but the gang going to Derry to track down Pennywise’s origin and teaming up with the Losers Club to take It down??? That’s eleven badass kids in the sewers, half-scared to death and half-pissed off with the motivation of keeping each other safe and alive

Dating Ramón Morales Would Include...
-Not requested
-Note: this is after the events of SSTTITD (spoilers!) + Chuck and Auggie are back! With a small twist to Ramón’s story in which he doesn't register and our boy stays in Mill Valley. Yeehaw
He lets you borrow his leather jacket when it gets chilly
Lowkey likes the sight of you in one of his jackets :)
Drive-in movie dates
Likes to hear you talk about school or work drama
Talks about life with his older brother
Likes to lay his head on your lap and feel your fingers on his hair
Down to explore around town
Takes you out for long drives
Followed by makeouts in his car
Ok but he would be super gentle and kinda shy at first because he doesn't want to mess up
But still pretty confident in his actions eventually
Lots of forehead kisses
Doesn't like bold pda except for hand holding
After the incident with Sarah Bellows, he has the need to touch you anyway, just small touches here and there
And you understand that it gives him comfort to feel that you're with him and most of all, safe from cursed books or angry spirits
Definitely a protective boi 😤
Seems like the type to buy you a small blade to protect yourself with when you're not with him
Actually pretty sarcastic omg 💀
Teases the hell out of you just to make you blush
Joining Chuck on his pranks
Mostly just likes to watch you two plan and execute
Walking in on him telling the gang why he likes you (he's a huge softie)
Impressed by your comebacks from your many arguments with Auggie
Doesn't take sides tho
Helping him keep his car in top shape
Going to a lake and swimming and admire him being shirtless
Lowkey checks you out too and blushes when the gang notices
Endures Chuck’s and Auggie’s nonstop teasing “ooh look at lover-boy here!”
Him calling you in the middle of the night because he has nightmares about the Jangly Man and he just wants to hear your voice :(
Inviting him to sneak in and cuddle
He feels at peace when he gets to hold you, whatever chaos he had in his head is replaced by your beating heart and soft whispering
Him meeting your parents tho
Super nervous but very respectful
Wants them to like him
They do obvs
If the two of you fight, he'd want to be alone for a while
But eventually he'll go to Stella and Auggie to figure stuff out and make things up
Auggie tries but he's clueless lets be honest
Stella has suggestions
By surprise, Chuck comes in with some wisdom… but no one listens when he starts spouting the cheesiest ideas
Ends up doing his own thing
He's all honest and understanding and even has a bouquet of flowers for you
The lil shit gives you puppy eyes that you literally have to turn around as he apologizes
Standing up for him when he's faced with the racism in town- his heart skips a beat for you
Sometimes he worries he'll lose you too like he lost his brother or how Chuck and Auggie went missing
You reassure him you're not going anywhere and you're just as safe as any kid in town now that the Bellows girl is gone
He still can't help but to try and memorize your face, voice and smile as much as he can whenever he's with you

Ramón Morales’ Crush On You...
-Not requested
-Note: this is after the events of SSTTITD (spoilers!) + Chuck and Auggie are back! With a small twist to Ramón’s story in which he doesn’t register and our boy stays in Mill Valley.
Ramón unknowingly started to look forward to seeing you a whole lot more than usual
He was so confused as to why he would feel so gooey whenever he'd make you laugh
Caught himself staring at you a couple of times at every get together recently
His face would feel warm when he would feel you staring at him
The realization hit him on the ride to drop you off at your house... he's got a crush on you
He was confused (doesn't know how to deal with feelings like this, you see)
Didn't wanna say anything to you for fear of an accidental confession
At first, he didn't want to get attached to you romantically
Getting attached to the gang was something he resisted initially, but now he's getting used to it
He had feared a stronger, romantic tie to the place in the event he had to run again
And he was torn by the possibility of having to leave after finding someone special like you
But eventually he eased into it, you felt so natural and right to him
Auggie and Chuck are onto him however
They can smell a heart-eyed sucker from a mile a way and this boy's definitely hooked
Stella’s the one who noticed Ramón staring at you the first time
Still kept her observations to herself:
-he'd always open doors for you-
-let you borrow his jackets-
-a lot of sweet genuine compliments for you lately, almost flirty even-
-seemed to brighten up every time you entered the room-
-and since the Sarah Bellows incident he would regularly check on you-
Anyone could say he's just being friendly or a gentleman, but Stella could tell he'd do it all just for you
Anyways, Ramón denies and ignores the boys’ teasing of course
“C’mon big boy, when are ya gonna sweep her off her feet already?”
He just ignores them, heart going wild at the thought of ever telling you
He tries to play it cool when the three of them corner him to just admit it
“We've seen the way you look at her, practically want to give her the whole world every time she talks to you.”
He insists they don't know what they're talking about
But they do
In fact, one particular group movie night at the drive-in they notice the two of you somewhat slowly getting closer throughout the movie
They also definitely notice when he casually stretches out his arm over the front seat
Chuck, Auggie and Stella try their best from going wild and just silently cheer him on from the back
Five minutes later, Chuck and Auggie start an argument in the backseat, resulting in getting kicked out and ordered to get more popcorn
Stella follows shortly under the excuse of checking on them to make sure they haven't been arrested already
Leaving the two of you alone
Those kids knew what they were doing
You make small talk and light banter between the two of you
One joke of his makes the two of you go into a fit of giggles
When you settle down, you somewhat ease your head onto his shoulder without much thought to it
He freezes, his heart already racing and he's hoping you don't notice
Yet despite being nervous- it felt just right and comfortable to him
You keep your head on his shoulder when Chuck, Auggie and Stella come back empty handed, but neither of you notice
Thankfully they don't say anything for his sake
But he definitely caught a glimpse of Chuck’s hand going up and proudly collecting a dollar from Stella and Auggie in the rear-view mirror
You were the last one he dropped off that night
But not before thanking him and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek
*Cue butterflies in his stomach*

Something’s Got You
Ramón Morales x Reader
Tumblr media
Request: Can you write a ramon imagine where they left his town together (him cause of the draft and she went with cause he’s all she has.) and when the story’s start happening the reader almost dies and yeah? ❤️
Want to send in a request? Here are the rules.
Word Count: 1,651 (sorry if its longer than expected!)
-Note: This is right when the stories start, as requested (spoilers!). The first night though, Sarah Bellows writes two stories, the Tommy/Harold story is first and a few hours later she writes your story. Your monster (ghost is a better way of saying it I guess) is the girl from The Girl Who Stood On A Grave from the first SSTTITD book.
-Also: The book explains that the knife pinned her skirt down, but in this imagine I wrote that the knife tore through her skirt and pinned her foot down- just to clear up any confusion in case you look up the story. Hope you enjoy it!
Town after town, they all just blurred onto one another. Same strangers with different faces, all except for the one on the wheel next to you. When Ramón received the cursed draft notice, it seemed as though whatever little foundation you had left of yourself really started to crumble.
After your father and Ramón’s brother were drafted, the two of you got closer. Ramón knew you were on your own now that your dad, the only family you had, was out fighting. You found company and solace in one another, praying to whoever for their safe return, except neither of you expected for them to return in body bags.
So when Ramón received notification, it felt as though someone was tearing through your skin and ribs to get to your heart. First your father and now Ramón? You wanted to keep hold of Ramón with your heels digging into the earth, wishing for no more harm, no more death, no more suffering.
Ramón however, was already terrified after seeing his brother throw himself out there for his country, only to come back beyond recognition. His heart ached as he heard his mother cry every night, begging to her God for answers, wondering why He couldn’t save su pobre mijito. Ramón didn’t want to leave his family or you, he didn’t want to allow them or you to see the world rip him apart as well. So he left them a letter apologizing for running away, promising he’ll be safe- writing to his mother that she won’t lose another son like that again. You caught him making a letter for you too, but you just could not allow what was left of your world to run out on his own.
Now at the moment, you find yourselves in Pennsylvania, deciding to stop in the small, quiet town of Mill Valley for some days. Your first night there is already eventful, just when the two of you decided to catch Night of the Living Dead at the drive-in, you defend three random kids in Halloween costumes from racist white jocks, and now you’re standing in front of some old haunted house with them.
“Ramón, this doesn’t feel right.” you hold back, it felt cursed, as if though the house had eyes on the two of you, the trio’s quick bits of the Bellows legend not helping with your anxiety at all.
Ramón offers a smile and lifts a hand to cup your cheek, “Tell you what, let’s just see what they’re on about. At the first sign of trouble we’re out of there, yeah?” he suggests.
He carefully leads you in, holding your hand as you all look around, yet you still couldn’t shake off the feeling of hungry eyes on the two of you. Ramón finds what seems to be a secret door in a wall, he asks you and Stella to help him push it and sure enough it was an entry to a secret room. Holding on to his arm you enter the dark room, you could see a broken down bed frame, with a chair, a table and a bookshelf. Stella walks closer to the bookshelf and pulls out a book, the four of you peer over her shoulder and see stories written in red writing, coming to the conclusion that the book is Sarah Bellows’ book of stories. Out of nowhere, you hear the entryway to the secret room shut, you all run over and hear Tommy and Ruth outside. Somehow, someway, Tommy seems to let Ruth open it until she’s pushed in as well, shutting the door and he leaves. You reach for Ramón, feeling a strong presence eyeing everyone down as you all desperately try to get the door open. One last smack at it and it somehow opens on its own. Once you all hurry outside, Ramón’s vandalized car comes into view with that stupid slur sprawled from the front and back. You give him a reassuring squeeze to his arm and he mentions taking the car into a shop tomorrow.
That night, Stella offers her basement for the two of you to stay in, “Thank you really, we appreciate it.” you smile as she hands you a blanket. Down there, the basement had a couch, piles of books, boxes, an old lamp, a large tool box, a wooden bureau, one broken mirror and a bicycle missing a wheel. A bit cluttered, but still neat enough to move around. You collapse on the couch burying your head into a dusty pillow, you still couldn’t seem to shake off the feeling of being watched since you left the house earlier.
You feel Ramón nudge your thigh, “Gonna make room for me there?” he asks. You hum in response and somehow the two of you manage to adjust yourselves in that small couch.
Tucking your head under his chin, you hesitate in telling him about your paranoia. Ramón being Ramón, he picked up on it, “You alright? Your head seems to be somewhere else.” he whispered, concern in his voice.
You shrug, one night in this town already left you feeling completely exhausted and all you wanted to do was sleep in his arms now.
“I don’t know, it’s something about that house. I don’t think we were alone, Ramón.” his arm around you tightened at the mention of the Bellows house.
“I felt it too and it wasn’t just that Tommy kid.” he replies, lightly tracing circles on your back.
You pull the blanket up closer, “If something was there, I hope it stays there.” you murmur, placing a light kiss underneath his jaw as the two of you drift off to sleep.
Hours later, you felt the need to go to the bathroom so you wiggled yourself out of Ramón’s hold and sneaked up the stairs. You remember Stella telling you to go to the bathroom by the living room, which is the one furthest away from her father’s bedroom. As you do your business, you hear a quiet thump in the hall. You stop and hold your breath, trying to hear for anything else. You wait in silence for two minutes, nothing. You quickly flush the toilet, wash your hands and there it was again. You hear hurried footsteps coming from down the hall with a curious light thump accompanying one of the steps. They stop by the bathroom door, the doorknob wiggles a bit and you hear a girl’s voice- “It’s got me…” she croaks from the other side. You step back, it couldn’t be Stella, this voice seemed to belong to an older girl. The doorknob wiggles again and you hold onto it, but somehow the lock undid itself. The knob turned quickly, nearly spraining your wrist and the door opened, pushing you back. There in front of you was a tall pale girl, with glowing eyes, disheveled hair and her jaw wide open. She was dressed in black with a torn skirt, and in her rotten left foot, a knife penetrating through it.
“Something… has got me.” she moans when suddenly she jerks back, as if though something was tugging at her foot. Violently tugged again she grabs onto the frame of the door and leaps at you, sharp nails tearing into your arms. You yelp, another tug and the two of you stumble onto the floor, her claw-like fingers drawing blood from you. Before you could even yell or kick her away, something quickly pulls the two of you into the hallway and through the open front door.
You cry out, thrashing about as she hisses “Something’s got me and it’s got you too!” over and over. When the two of you end up in Stella’s front yard she jumps on top of you, her open jaw drooling with saliva. As you struggle against her bony hands, one manages to grab both of your arms. You moan in pain as she holds them tight and pin them against your chest, leaving you breathless.
Her other hand digs at the dirt next to your head, quickly making it hollow. In just a few seconds, she’s made a giant hole and throws you in. Immediately you feel other cold, bony hands hold you down from beneath you, they grab at your legs, torso, arms, mouth and head.
“Something’s got you!” she shouts, leaning over to her left foot, she pulls out the knife. She jumps into the hole with you and gleefully holds the rusty knife to your throat. You cry into whatever hand has your mouth covered, trying to make yourself heard.
“No!” a voice yells out, startling the girl and causing her knife to slide through your chest, leaving a flesh wound at the very least. Above you, you see a wide-eyed Stella clutching a book in her arms. Next to Stella appears Ramón, holding a large hammer he swings at the girl’s head. The girl wails, grabbing at her head and she stumbles back.
“He’s got me! He’s got me!” the girl cries out in pain. Ramón swings again at her chest, dropping her to her knees. Before he can swing again, the earth beneath the girl began to rise around her. Noticing the hands that held you down are gone you quickly stand up, grab Stella and Ramón’s hands and pull yourself up. You can still hear her wailing, but the earth swallows her whole, leaving a clear undisturbed patch of dirt in front of you. Ramón drops the hammer and quickly pulls you into his chest. You wrap your arms around him and cry into his shoulder, the cuts on your arms and chest staining his shirt. Ramón doesn’t care though, he nearly lost you tonight and barely saved you in time. He holds you tight, the feeling of guilt blooming in his chest, feeling as if though it’s his fault that you almost lost your life.
~If you guys don’t mind, I’d like some feedback on this since it’s my first official Ramón imagine 😣
