Space Jam was always terrible. It’s nothing but self-congratulatory product placement and there are literally only two good things that resulted from it:

1. The legendary theme song

2. Introducing Lola Bunny who would become a much more fleshed out and enjoyable character later down the line particularly in the 2011 cartoon

We were fools for putting the movie on a pedestal as a ironic meme cinematic classic and for not embracing Back in Action instead.

You know part of the reason I never got into Megaman Starforce when it first came out was because it bugged me how quickly the Netnavis were discarded. Like they still exist in a small capacity to operate complex machinery but otherwise they’ve been totally phased out for what kinda amounts to just regular smart phones with no fancy sentient A.I. just good 5G WiFi. And like after so much of the games emphasized the power of friendship between the humans and the Netnavis and how the Navis have actual indisputable souls it feels really uncomfortable that humanity would just discard them. It feels very antithetical to not just what Battle Network was about but really what Megaman is about in general.

I’m a huge superhero movie apologist but Sony needs to stop trying to make a cinematic universe out of Spider-Man’s bad guys. Like just leave it at Venom and focus all your effort on Spider-Verse 2, stop trying to make a compelling narrative out of 1 dimensional bad guys like Morbius or Kraven.

Weird question but did anyone else growing up in 2001 think that this was an ad for Mountain Dew? Like I didn’t grow up with a PlayStation or Xbox so I had no idea that Oddworld was a thing I just thought these guys were some edgy 2000s mascots that Mountain Dew was pushing and thought that they were making a game to promote the soda ala Cool Spot or Pepsiman.
