(to anyone wondering: the triangles were a part of a prompt. 'Send me a ▲, and I'll write my character's response to your death'. As such, it's about time I finally write Fact's; Space and him hardly knew eachother when this was sent, so I didn't have anything to go off of)

"Ba bababa! Space! Ba ba baba..." Space sung cheerfully to himself as he looked into another room. Nope. No portal, no Space, no Space Buddies. Time to move onto the next room. Maybe he'd find Space there!

"Space! Space! Ba baba!" His song might not have been the most complex, but he was happy enough with it. It had Space! That made it one of the best songs! However, as he entered the next room, he was quickly distracted from it by something better. 

"Smart Space Buddy! Hi! Hihihi!" Space greeted as he bounded over, as happy as ever to see his friend.  Sure, it was a little strange how Fact was seated, leaning against a wall in half-darkness, but still! It was Fact!

"Been looking for Space! Seen way there?" he asked, full of hope. Fact knew everything, surely he knew of a way Space could use to get to Space! Yet, after several long moments, it was clear he wasn't about to answer.

"Smart Space Buddy?" Space asked, peering up at Fact's face. That was weird. Despite his eyes being wide open, there was no familiar pink glow coming from them. No, the only light came from Space's own optic or the lighting in the room. Maybe it was a new way of going into sleepmode?

Undeterred, Space reached up to shake Fact's shoulder. "C'mon! Up! Needa find way to Space! Go to Space together!" Nope. Still no reaction. It was definitely a strange method of sleepmode, but hey, whatever made Fact happy.

".... 'kay! Will let sleep! Be back later! Space promise! Then can go find Space together!" Space finally agreed. If Fact wanted to sleep that badly, who was he to say he couldn't? No, Space instead headed back out of the room, singing happily to himself again while making sure to remember to visit later.

It was only after several trips back, all resulting in Fact staying in the same pose, that Space thought to ask someone else about the strange sleepmode. After much fuss and people coming to examine Fact and then take him away... it was only after all that was done that Space was finally informed this particular method of sleepmode was permanent. That Fact wasn't coming back.

It almost went without saying that Space immediately broke down into tears.
