I am not short by any stretch but somehow I managed to take selfies with the most statuesque women in the room at tonight’s Pretty Sporty celebration of female sport. (A pity I didn’t get a chance to say hello to netballer Caitlyn Bassett to really top it off 😉. Sorry that was a bad pun.)

@clubathletica and I had a great night; it was a buzz meeting athletes like Olympians Kim Mickle (javelin) and the modest Rachel Harris (swimming), Hockeyroos Anna Flanagan and Georgie Parker, Ironman Kate Bevalacqua and gymnast Lauren Mitchell (the latter two would’ve made me look strapping). Oh and Georgi got a couple of mentions as the R&D Speedshop ambassador too. It was great hearing some of the athletes’ sporty stories - interviewed by women so no dumb questions about hair and make-up praise Gaia.

The bonus was that we got to eat pork sliders and drink bubbly while getting inspired by feats of greatness and determination.
