Last half hour of #cosyreadingnight and as always, I’ve had a blast. Thank you so much to @laurenandthebooks for hosting! This is the candle I’ve been burning all night, it is a crackly one that makes such a soothing noise and the smell reminds me of my mum or what I like to call “Mumma smell!” 🤣 I’ve made myself a cup of sleepy time tea - this is my favourite from Twinings, it’s delicious. This past hour I’ve also been talking to bookstagram bestie @tarheelreader about The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead which we recently finished reading together. It was a great discussion as always and we found it such a powerful read - review to follow! For now I’m going to snuggle in bed and read some of Saeed Jones’ wonderful memoir! It’s feeling like a multiple post day 🤔😉 and the reason for that is because it’s time for Cosy Reading Night hosted by the lovely @laurenandthebooks The idea is that you get all cosy with blankets, candles, hot drinks, snacks and of course BOOKS. This is my little pile of reading material I’m going to switch between reading during the hours of 7-10PM BST. I’m currently reading The Doll’s House by M.J. Arlidge (57% through) then there’s my buddy read with @emmasbookishcorner of How We Disappeared by Jing-Jing Lee. I’m just over halfway through this. Then we have my nonfiction read - How We Fight For Our Lives by Saeed Jones, I’m about three quarters of the way through (and loving it!). Finally, I always have a favourite re-read on the go which is The Book Of Negroes by Lawrence Hill. I’m yet to start this.
