Yesterday Katey posted to her twitter saying that next thursday will be her last day at Riot (so most likely Sept 16th, 2021). 

She was known as the Nami-Mommy throughout most of the community and worked on a BUNCH of skins.  She posted this on her Riot anniversary on June 30th of all the skins she worked on:

At least Steve Zheng is still getting commissioned.. I think). I will certainly miss Katey wherever she flips her fins. 🧜‍♀️♥

whats ur fav soraka skin?

aa thank you for asking!! sorry this got so long, i’ll put it under a cut for length. you don’t have to read all of this! it’s so hard for me to pick a favorite, honestly i like and have all of them haha... i feel at least her base could use a visual update (like the colors are so different from her splash art), and i’d love to see more voice lines, but anyway!

-i like the colors and effects of celestine soraka, and the classic rpg healer feel to it. this kind of feels more like what her base should be like

-reaper soraka keeps aspects of her older lore (as in through the cruel actions of others, she is no longer the same kind of creature she once was), and it’s got neat art. rather grim but still interesting and fun to explore.sometimes i have halloween layouts of that skin. i made a playlist for reaper soraka x kalista once!

-star guardian and pajama guardian are both very cute, i like that au a lot. i’ve actually cosplayed star guardian soraka before! i probably will again in may. i’m disappointed about star guardian soraka not being a legendary, as i would’ve loved to hear more about her in this setting. she hasn’t had a lot of lines even in the short stories for the star guardian universe. but... i feel like there is a lot more being hinted at! they noted her unusual 8 point star (shared only with prestige sg neeko), her unusual eyes (another feature shared only by neeko), her “mysterious origin.” and star guardian xayah and rakan, in their voice lines toward her, think she knows something she isn’t telling the others about- xayah asks her if she’s scared to tell the truth. i don’t think she has bad intentions, but i am very curious about this!

-winter wonder soraka is pretty, it’s one i’ve thought of cosplaying before but i’m not sure if i can! i like the blue and gold colors, and the little animation for those skins was cute

-dawnbringer and nightbringer!! i was so excited to finally get legendaries for soraka, to get additional voice lines even if just for those skins. i don’t want to ramble too much analyzing them, but i’m so intrigued, wanting to learn more. it’s interesting to me to see how differently she refers to yasuo and riven, seemingly feeling a closer familial bond to yasuo. also of note is how dawnbringer is described as “piercing” the darkness as contrasted to nightbringer “soothing” the light, though characters aligned more with chaos are often seen as Edgy. both seem a bit conflicted at times.. visually dawnbringer appeals to me a lot but nightbringer soraka might be my fave of the two for lore.
