A wooden brick fireplace made from reclaimed 2x6s from an old barn, the mantel and base are also reclaimed beams. I used my portercable restorer to bring it all to life thx @portercablerestorer for the coolest damn tool! Yes it's a working electric fireplace but no it won't get plugged in its all for show but does have a heat shield, the next one I build will only have a decorative fireplace wooden surround instead of the insert. A cool historic piece that has been at the shop for a while will now be leaving. These pictures are from a small barn beam that really was just a fun piece at the shop that was not for sale. A nice couple saw it today and really wanted it to be used as a fireplace mantle. Reluctantly we agreed and they will have a cool piece in their new home. As shown, this piece was from a barn built in Ontario in 1901. Any guesses as to the type of farm ???? You are right - a pig farm with the owners initials R.B.
