hit me where it hurts

          urie’s heart ached. it constricted in every way possible. he thought he had been at peace with the concept of death. he thought he understood it, knew how to deal with the pain and knew how to occupy himself so he wouldn’t be tempted to wallow in the heartbreak. then nadiya died. his whole world turned upside down and all of a sudden urie was reminded that he was really nothing more than a kid. scared. alone. sick.     ‘ it’s okay nadi, it’s okay. ’     he tried to soothe the apparition, tried to reach out and cup her sad face with his hands but he could only grasp at thin air. every time he tried to hold her, brush the hair from her face, do something- anything, all he felt was cold. urie couldn’t stop the tears from falling when they came, couldn’t stop himself from putting his fist through the drywall. all his hard work, painting those walls to look so beautiful, gone in an instant. just like her. sniffing hard, he tried to wipe his eyes and went back to his altar. jars of bones, a preserved fish head, dried and dead insects, all brought out from his shelves.     ‘ i’ll get it back, nadi. it’s gonna be okay, i promise. i’ll take care of you, just let me look after you this once okay ?? ’     books on voodoo, blood magic, open and scattered on his desk. hot, fat tears stained the pages as he searched for even a hint of what to do.     ‘ you always take care of me and weston. please just let me do this for you. ’

hit me where it hurts

           this whole relationship was still rocky. sometimes urie wondered if he really did like nadiya or if he just wanted to make weston happy. no. perish that thought. seeing her tear up and storm away sparked something in urie’s chest. it hurt and he didn’t like it.     ‘ nadiya- that’s not what i meant !! ’     it was too late, she was already gone. he’d fucked everything up again and he hadn’t even tried this time.     ‘ i’m sorry ... ’     the words were mumbled, lost to the wind. he couldn’t help but think even as she was so upset, she was still the prettiest girl he’d ever seen. she cried like a disney princess or something or maybe that was just his mind idolising her again. gingerly, he took out his phone and sent off a text to weston.

it’s  nameless.  you  couldn’t  apply  language  to  it  and  do  it  justice  if  you  tried.  it’s  a  hug  going  on  longer  than  it’s  meant  to,  wearing  their  sweatshirt  on  the  way  home  and  crying  because  it  smells  so  inviting.  it’s  sinking  into  a  kiss,  using  their  shampoo  in  the  shower,  burying  yourself  a  little  deeper  in  the  sheets  because  you’ve  never  felt  so  comfortable.  whenever  they  ask  you  to  describe  their  smell,  all  you  can  think  is  warm,  familiar,  mine.  when  you  ask  them  to  describe  yours  they  say:  it  smells  like  you.  home  is  wherever  you  can  be  beside  them.  everywhere  you  go  is  perfect  as  long  as  you’re  together.
