     Olivia didn’t leave. Not at once She hadn’t been up all night, combing through all the information she could gather at the Shatterdome about where he had gone. When the words suicide watch had been spoken, the woman had all but gone into hyper-drive trying to find out where he was.

     Her throat felt like it was closing up as she looked at the man in front of her, eyes that had already been reddened from crying prickling as the urge almost overtook her again. Voice husky, she spoke, breaking the silence.

     ”I’m sorry. I just had to make sure that you weren’t… hurt. Physically. I’ll leave if you want me to.”

    The hurt in her voice made his throat burn, the words sounding as if she were at the edge of tears. He hadn't realized -- hadn't thought that she would find out. She'd been out of town, why would she? Tendo's hand tightened on the cross of his rosary and a shudder ran down his spine.

    "I'm not." The reply was monotone, carefully bereft of emotion. "Physically hurt, that is." 

    The silence fell again and Tendo turned to look at Olivia from the corner of his eye. There was the guilt again, burning through his veins. Tendo shifted and sighed. "You had might as well sit down," he said, gesturing to another fold-up chair. "I was just watching that orderly try to convince that guy to put some pants on, as nightgowns are not acceptable daywear." He pointed out the window, where an old man was skipping about in a pink nightie. He tried to smile at Olivia, hoping to lighten the oppressive feeling of depression that weighed heavily on his shoulders.

My character is being kept on suicide watch at a psych ward. Send me ✃ for their response to your character visiting them.

    Sitting in a fold-up chair, Tendo's legs were crossed and he was dressed in plain grey sweatpants and a faded black tee. His hands were folded in his lap, twisting at the beads of his rosary nervously. He did not immediately realize that he had a visitor, so absent was he from the present.  

    It was several long moments before he felt the hair at the back of his neck prickle and he turned to look behind him. His face paled immediately and his eyes went wide, like a deer in the headlights. For a second, it seemed as though he might bolt, though it passed and he turned back to the window. "I don't know how you found me," he whispered, his voice ragged. 

    "But I think that you should leave. This isn't something I want on your shoulders."
