Hey there, everyone! Did you know that requests get priority in the queue? Thank you, anonymous friend!

This is a very cool arrangement of this track! I love the full band feel of it all, while still retaining the heart of the original. The piano adds so much here; I immediately want to draw comparisons to the Planet Wisp suite, even though this track is heavier than any of those. The bass in this one is incredible too, especially in the chorus--all those sweeps up and down the neck really add some pizzazz. In the second verse, a synth bass and more synth sounds are used, which is a nice bit of contrast in both style and in volume. The chorus goes just as furiously as it ever did, only now with more guitars, and even a little bVI-bVII reharm. The switches from half time to the blistering straight time modulate the intensity from "groovin'" to "zoomin'" in the space of a phrase. And it all ends off with a sweet little piano outro. What a cool tune!

ive been digging through old stuff and this (2016) melody caught my ear. i reharmed it a bit and doodled some more

mixed feelings. messy soundscape. i still like the melody tho.

turns out its just sliding down the F dorian scale but hits a picardy third instead of a 2nd. i seem to like picardy thirds.

During this time I started to think about the concept of the recital. Some of the ideas that I have is mystical, journey like, etc.

Dissertation:

While we reviewed, learned, and thought about the recitals, the dissertation awaits me. This semester, we are supposed to create a dissertation proposal for our 3rd year. I’ve put some thought into it such as something related to trauma, neuro, or psychology in music. This was because I was exposed to information such as the effects of classical music in childhood development and was soon interested in other possible effects of other genres in music.

Key to reharm is a convincing bass line

Ways to make more 'hot' reharms more palatable for audiences is assigning different instrument sections to different the triads and bass line

Tritones cannot be overused, it will sound like a siren. They should be used in pairs

Minor 11ths sound nice because they have open 4ths in the bottom for the angular sound and triads on top for the round sound

Reflection:

Realised I have a a big year ahead of me, and I want to consciously make more of an effort to stay on top of things, especially with balancing school work with my commitments outside of school.

This means scheduling time to do work, which I've never done in the past. I've adopted the habit of setting alarms to get tasks done throughout the day.

Me, Shyvon and Maegan have made a pact to journal every week together to ensure we pace ourselves ad not die last minute. Furthermore, we will nag each other consistently.

As I have learnt from listening to Formula 1 podcast's, motto this semester is to be FIERCELY OPTIMISTIC.
