Him not hating those who might outshine him, but instead making peace with that, maybe even wishing them the best. I cannot even begin to talk about how this mindset is the best one to have. He had good intentions from the start, he was humble to some degree, but he did not think of himself as superiour or the best. There was no proudness, just his hard work, which even after two millenia paid off

watching reply 1997 in real time was an Experience™ like it was a small show with hardly renowed for their acting idols being the leads suddenly getting so popular it broke viewership records. everyone was having theories on who the fuck is the husband 😭 couple more impactful shows like misaeng happened and suddenly tvn became the channel people tuned in to watch a drama. i need romance series (fuck season 1 ending btw), nine (fuck that guy btw), queen in-hyun's man, marriage not dating... all good dramas that aired on a channel that wouldn't break 2% in viewership

aight, so, Hyde works as a restaurator n has their own, lil atelier, which means often enough they get some pretty upper class people and need to look professional and snobbby when they come over. Or they go to auctions and art events and the like, be it because they were one of the people restoring a piece there, be it because they were invited. 

Cody somtimes works on pieces with them because, as it turns out, he’s ridiculously talanted, both as an artist and at restoring art work, specifically the retouching part. You need to mix most of the colours yourself with pigments and different chemical substances and Cody somehow always recreates the right colours, the right glaze, has an understanding of reconstructing lost parts and integrating his work in the original that is insane. So now he’s the only other person working at the Damiano Atelier, which means he gets to go with Hyde to these events.

If any of the clients ever were to see them in their normal work enviorment, they’d loose their fate or something
