He patted the guard bear reploid on his oil covered nose.

"Ok Bandersnatch looks like you might get to see how human taste like."

Lumine was going to go to every news station to find this woman but now? He was on the back of Bandersnatch, heading towards Jayden's work place.

"Maybe just an arm though... Live bait in pain is always better.

There’s a bit of relief off the reporter’s shoulders. She’d been concerned after the call the other day, so hearing Shaska sound much better put a bit of ease on Jayden.

“That’s actually perfect. I wanted to swing by my place and pick up the pearl too.” She gathered a few theories about this object after observing its reaction from the last time. “Let’s not go for the boardwalk. You know how it responded being near the ocean. So…maybe more in the inner city? How about underneath that freeway?”

Ah, so the pearl would be around too. Shaska figured that could be interesting, but... She sure as hell wouldn’t be touching it again. Not by her own choice at any rate. Already the cryptid was getting all her armor on and body suit. Everything back into place and ready to go. 

“No, not the inner city. Here, I’m gonna send you some coordinates. We’ll meet outside the city where it’s nice and quiet. It’s gonna be a full moon tonight, so the view is gonna be great.” Shaska then sent some Data to Jayden’s little wrist watch. It would be some tall hills far outside the city, but would give a great view of the city limits and the buildings. Plus no one to bother them. 

“I’ll meet you there?”

“So you want to interview me huh?” Zero repeated the question with a grin a wide as a kid who just got what they always wanted for Christmas. His demeanor went form up-tight and ready, to cool and relaxed in a matter of moments. More than likely the good reporter probably just wanted to ask him what he knew about the current state of events at HQ, but to Zero that meant the opportunity to flaunt and brag about his own accomplishments. 

He cleared his throat, leaned his arm against the nearest wall and attempted to give off an air of elegance, "So, what do you want to ask me? I've got great work-out tips for Reploids if the viewers are interested." he was suave as could be.

“There’s nothing wrong with being afraid.”

“... Hm hm... If only emotion were ever that simple, Ms. Garner.”

Standing above a cliffside, X felt the breeze blow softly, his hair swaying gently in the breeze. Looking out over the bright and vibrant light of Abel City, he simply let nature move around him, standing almost motionless, save for the occasional rise and fall of his shoulder.

“... Tell me. When you look out over the city... What is it that you see...?”

Maybe Lumine didn't expect it coming, or maybe he could sense another undead presence approaching at near light speed. Either way Jayden came in at blinding speed to slug the ex-director right against his cheek. Another funky smell took her attention and led her to Lumine's location. Looks like he was cursed as well.

Lumine could feel something coming close... but he thought whatever it was would run away seeing what he was and who he was.

He was wrong.

The jab in his face sent the demon backwards into a roll before coming to a sliding stop on the ground.

"............ Well isn't this a surprise."

Lumine stood up, dusting off any dirt and looking at- Oh.

"A real surprise! The human is back and has powers too!"

Seems like he wasn't that hurt from the punch...

She got him to laugh?! She really...got him to laugh that much! Holy crap! Oh man, Jayden’s just smiling so wide, even laughing herself too. “I got you good! I got you SO good! Bet you didn’t expect that coming!”

He’s still cackling against the wall. He can’t even look at her just yet. All Jayden can see is when he finally leans back, he’s wiping tears out of the corners of his eyes.

“AHAHahaha......Ohhh man. Ffffuck, that was so cute--!”

Solange’s facial expression tightened for a moment as she saw the tension in Jayden’s posture. The fear in her eyes. The hatred in her words. She took a deep breath and moved to set the chocolate she’d picked out down on the bedside table, her golden eye never leaving Jayden. 

[ 📁 ] : “I’m not the person who attacked you. His data isn’t even in my system.”

[ 📁 ] : “You don’t have to worry, Ms. Garner. Please calm down.”

She sighed softly and pulled up a golden screen for her; the page seemed to be an ID tag- -

“Mmpf min ghf.” The large amount of fries sticking out from the girl’s mouth would concern anyone, but soon they all slowly disappeared. There would be no savoring this meal, only shoveling considering how loud Jayden’s stomach rumbled with its own response.

“Sorry, I’m doing well. I got a good hour or so to myself to chill and not think about all the writing I have to eventually finish.” She parked her scooter near the covered vehicle kicking both stands up and sitting on the board. Another handful of fries, but this time she pulled out a VERY juicy burger. Dripping with grease, spilling ketchup on her hands, oh BOY did that bring sparkles to her eyes.

That food would be gone in seconds, until she returned to filling the rest of her empty belly with the fries. “I bought a lot of food, so if there’s any you want in here I’ll gladly share. Got another burger in there and another large fries so eat up, cuz I know you may need a little something.”

Shaska may have released a small laugh as Jayden devoured those fries like a starved animal, and the stomach growling as well. Amusing as hell, always such a colorful person. And so, she waited calmly for the answer. Gently nodding her head in understanding as the reporter moved closer with the scooter. 

“Good thing you finally got a longer break than normal. You look like a kid in a candy store with all those goodies. I’ve got extra rags if you need to wipe your hands, hahaha.” The reploid woman shifted away from her work a bit. Showing her armor had more patch work than normal, fresher simple repairs. When she was offered food, the woman waved one hand in the air. “Not at the moment, but I could save it to burn for later. I’ve just charged up on energy so my inner reserves are at full capacity. They in little boxes?” 

It’s true, her entire suit and core functions were all at max for once. Lights not flickering. But her secret, she... Really did not feel hungry, which she knew she should eat. But she could save it for later. Too much running through her head at this moment.

Silver let out a squeak when he accidentally tripped into someone. He pulled back and looked up, mismatched eyes meeting... mismatched eyes? Huh?

5AM. A perfect time just before the city really came alive. In a back alleyway stood a rather short, black-haired girl standing on a sleek-looking scooter. Old fashioned too. Two polished, thick rubber wheels with an monstrous engine fixed to the back wheel. Morning practices were Jayden's favorites especially since no one would be around to hear. She kicked off, revved up the back engine and took off with a loud squeeling of tires marking the pavement.

It was early in the morning, no better time for a quick patrol... Hell, he’d been needing to get out of the base. Sure, he could view Abel City from the control room easily enough, run scans to check for any dangers... There really was nothing better than feeling the wind rushing against him, seeing the sun slowly begin its ascent into the darkened sky.

Though he had to slow himself to a stop as he received a transmission about... Some strange kind of noise that had been documented passing through the city, perhaps attributed to a Maverick causing some havoc.

“Understood, I’ll go check on this. X out.”

Kicking his Chaser back into gear, he rocketed off, following his coordinates to the originating area and noticed the smoke first, at the very least making it far, far easier to follow afterwards. Quickly catching up, he turned his head to call out.

“Pull over!”
