Thought about some “INTRO” for a story, but... this is a good one, and just for that “first chapter”. But the thing is, when you start first chapter, it’s never the first one, because something had happened before, and this “before” there is also another “before”. Maybe that’s why I find it hard to start all over again, write this first chapter. I don’t know what should be there. And I think, the best way is to put anything, the rest will figure itself out. Almost every book has it, the plot will help you out with making things clearer, when it comes to that question popping in your head: “but what happened before?” I will just leave it here. Day 39 ~Anteros~ Anteros is the Greek God of requited love, or love returned. Also he was considered the punisher of those who reject the love of others. He was given to Eros as a brother and playmate. As they're twins, they are often portrayed the same way, but Anteros has longer hair, and sometimes it is represented with butterfly wings. He represent a kind of more mature love, opposite to eros who is more savage and childish. Distance

She stared at the steady movements of his chest, wondering. He exhaled lightly and turned so he was facing her. She breathed a sigh of relief noticing that his eyes were closed and his mouth  was slightly agape. She could even see his tongue peeking out. He was dead to the world. 

She moved quietly, padding to the bed and falling to her knees at his bedside. He didn’t stir and she smiled again. Footsteps outside his door reminded her of where she was and she hesitated for a fraction of a moment, not breathing, waiting for the door to open. Finally, the person appeared to think better of disturbing his rest and they walked away. She breathed again.

“Eric.” She whispered and his face relaxed into a smile. “I know I said I’d keep my distance, but you should know...” He stirred minutely but she didn’t notice. She brushed his light brown hair away from his face and bent to kiss his forehead. “I still love you...” The relief she felt at those whispered words was almost too good to be real. “I never stopped loving you.”

She allowed herself another glance at him, his unbuttoned flannel shirt, the little curls of chest hair he was so proud of, the frown on his face, even in sleep. She almost burst into tears at the thought of leaving him to his nightmares but reason won and she stood, careful not to make a sound.

The door clicked shut behind Judith and Eric’s eyes opened slowly. He exhaled sharply, the sound almost deafening in the empty room.

“I love you too, Judith.” He whispered. He wished she would come back but he knew she wouldn’t. He’d accepted that she had her responsibilities just like he had his.
