Yesterday I continued to finalise the set up for the exhibition of my current work. These photos show my piece Shadow of Covid. Which is a latticework of Covid 19 cells, made from household packaging used while in lockdown and machine stitched together, against different backgrounds to check and test its effectiveness. After deliberation , using a maquette to mock up the exhibition layout and discussion with people who have seen it in person or in photos I have decided that this would hang on one side of my piece - Looking Out. This allows the visitors to the exhibition to view the eyes of Looking Out to be viewed through the lattice work while simultaneously feeling that they are being viewed. Amazing night last night seeing Twelfth Night in Stratford. The scene designs were absolutely astonishing and the acting was so beautifully performed that it was quite easy to completely lose yourself in the world and lives created on the stage. The union of East and West in this production’s fabled Illyria was genius - finally an adaptation that sets it in what may have been in the same part of the world as modern Turkey. Yes, I had a restricted view, but in all honesty that barely touched on my experience.
