✿ — you end up as sunoo’s partner to investigate a case file.

as soon as the teacher announced that the project for their semester would be by a pair, the classroom burst into chatters filled with excitement, asking others, and students heading over to their classmate’s desk begging them to be their partner.

on the other hand, you didn’t really have the courage to go up to someone and straight up ask them to be your partner.

usually, you would be randomly paired up with people who others didn’t choose or those who rather work individually.

however, now you were stuck with a boy who was so enthusiastic about asking you to be his partner. you saw him from afar but never really interacted with him until today.

“i haven’t been paired up with you before, care to be my watson?” his amber eyes gleamed with anticipation, waiting for your response.

this project was different to the ones you’ve worked on before, it had been abruptly one month since you have been coordinating with your partner, kim sunoo.

the two of you would text each other ideas, hypothesis, keywords, and plans to meet up and work on parts diligently. you insisted that you’d work in a small cafe but sunoo kept bugging you to go to his house instead.

“stop calling me watson, that’s not my name!” you exclaimed in frustration, which made you slam the illustration board to the floor. sunoo raised both hands in defense when he noticed how angry you were.

“okay okay, have you read my analysis on this case?” he asked, carefully picking up the materials to be placed on the board.

“you sent one?” you asked, furrowing your brows in confusion.

“i did but you don’t need to read it. compared to yours, i think mine needs a little more brainstorming.” he replied plainly, but he was internally panicking inside of his head.

the two continued working quietly, the only noises that can be heard were scribbling of writing materials and removal of the tape from its dispenser.

the boy loved yapping to everyone he’s near to even himself, but to your dismay, he was surprisingly quiet. you were not the person who would reply with the same expression and gestures. you loved listening.

“i’ll get more paper.” sunoo slowly stood up from his position from the ground. without him, you wouldn’t be able to express your ideas while he stares at you star-strucked.

with him gone, you took the opportunity to check your unread messages with sunoo to view his incomplete analysis file.
