callout post for @timetravellingkitty
you people have probably heard of her. the most notorious hinduphobe of our times, reva has woven countless people into his nefarious schemes. he criticises Hinduism (perfect religion angel baby boy which had never done anything wrong in its life) yet has started a religion worshipping the underdog Joes of the world, even managing to climb up to the powerful position possible- the head rabbit of the Joesian order, with at least three people under his sway. not only that, but she’s divorced @brokenbackmountain so many times it sent poor hana to toxic yuri jail. she’s been unavailable for comment when our reporters questioned her about whether she was REALLY a time travelling kitty or just LYING TO US. also she’s racist to white people or whatever even more shocking, recent news suggests that reva (rava dosa) timetravellingkitty is a FUCKING TANKIE. holding such vile and insipid views like “capitalism bad” and “we shouldn’t be racist to North Koreans”, we cannot say that we are surprised by this attitude of hers. is that fucking karl marx in your header LOSER

THE LINEMAN
I’m sorry but I laughed really hard when I saw the youngling. Master Skywalker there are too many of them, what are we going to do?
My ass was about to tear up at the ending. Then I saw the droid and my mood went from. “Aw fuck she’s so much like Padmé, shit I’m boutta cry.” To straight up. “Oh it’s the droid.”

#SproutChat Recap: Pinterest Marketing
Pinterest has held its own as a powerful platform for visual brands in the fashion and food industry. Similar to other networks, there is a lot of content saturation on Pinterest and it can be challenging for your brand to stand out. Social Media Expert and Sprout All Star, Kayla Chatkiewicz, joined us for this week’s #SproutChat to share some best practices for getting your audience to see and engage with your Pins.
Focus on Large, Colorful Images
It may sound obvious, but black and white images don’t perform well on Pinterest. Users are looking for visuals that really catch their eye. Focus on bold objects that are easy to see. Your images should feel bright and inviting. Design and test specific Pins to see if certain color schemes or typography perform better for your brand.
A1: The more fun an image is, the more repins! Use orangey tones/apply filters. Black and white images don’t convert as much. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A1: In my experience, warm colors tend to get more likes and repins than cool colors. And too much info on an image distracts #SproutChat
— Molly Ligon (@mollyligonn) May 4, 2016
A1 For infographics, it’s sometimes better to create a large image of only a portion (such as header) and link to it in full. #SproutChat
— Erika Heald | Content Marketing Expert (@SFerika) May 4, 2016
A1. I hate when there are too many images in one pin. I’m looking for inspiration – I want one image I can see. #SproutChat
— Reva Minkoff (@revaminkoff) May 4, 2016
A1: Crisp, bright images grab attention! It’s okay to post multiple/text, as long as it’s relevant and tasteful. #sproutchat
— Kate Kelly (@katekellyunt) May 4, 2016
Image Size Matters
Just like other social channels, the size of the social image that you post is important. Concise, vertical images that explain what the Pin will link out to tend to work well on the network. When publishing infographics, trim them down so that they’re easy to interpret with a quick glance. If you have a busy image, focus on the portion of the images or a series of images that tells the most accurate story.
A2: Yes! Size is everything. Common mistake is using wrong dimensions. Like other platforms, Pinterest has a specific dimension. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A2: If the Pinterest image is too large there is a greater chance it will not be shared. 736 x 1228 pixels usually work for me! #SproutChat
— Molly Ligon (@mollyligonn) May 4, 2016
A2: Just like other platforms, Pinterest has a recommended size for images. Long, vertical images seem to perform the best. #SproutChat
— Express Writers | Your Content Writing Team (@ExpWriters) May 4, 2016
A2. Centering is very important and make sure its not cut off and the look is professional. #SproutChat
— Surfable.io | World’s fastest websites (@SurfableIO) May 4, 2016
A2. A secret to reducing a high quality photo size to fit: @Powerpoint is your best friend. Paste it in there & save it as a pic #sproutchat
— Troy Sandidge 🎯 (@FindTroy) May 4, 2016
A2 Size does matter. Sometimes you have to format for best visual quality while not being too big a file #sproutchatpic.twitter.com/UASkUKRFaj
— Troy Sandidge 🎯 (@FindTroy) May 4, 2016
Key Points to Keep in Mind
Our community shared their key points for consideration whenever using Pinterest. Kayla also advises to focus less on hashtags and more on the description of the Pin.
A4: Fully optimized pins consist of 3 things: High quality image, thorough description that is keyword rich & includes a CTA! #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A4b: Stick with Pinterest’s image dimension and make sure your photos aren’t pixelated or blurry. Quality counts. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A4c: Pin descriptions are powerful! Be detailed, use keywords (but don’t over do it) & make it interesting so people will click. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A4d: Always include a CTA – whether it be driving someone to your blog, asking a question to get answers, etc. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A4: all about the image 1st and then the description and then engage… #Sproutchat

A4 For SoMe in general: 1 Will it resonate with your audience? 2 Is text optimized for search? 3 What is the goal of this post? #sproutchat
— Katherine Boufford (@kbouffd) May 4, 2016
A4: Appearance (Keep it clean! Simple is better.), functional links that don’t take you on random journeys, catchy description. #SproutChat
— Yelling Mule (@YellingMule) May 4, 2016
Find Inspiration From These Brands
If you’re looking to up your Pinterest game, start by checking out the boards and Pins of these brands that are seeing success on the platform. Take note on the layout of their pages and the components of each Pin. Get inspired and outline how you can apply their best practices to your own community as you continue to work on your social media marketing strategy.
A6: Want some inspo? Look at @Urban_Barn! Their pins are fully optimized, high quality and all drive traffic back to website. #SproutChat
— Kayla Chatkiewicz (@kaychatz) May 4, 2016
A6: So far I’ve seen Nordstrom, Lowe’s, and Etsy dominating Pinterest. Their social media team is on top of it! #SproutChat
— Molly Ligon (@mollyligonn) May 4, 2016
A6: @westelm. They have a lot of opportunity with all of the product they sell but they incorporate contests. #SproutChat
— Kellie Elmerraji (@knelmerraji) May 4, 2016
A6: @Bergdorfs, @Etsy, @WholeFoods, @Sephora, even @generalelectric and so many more. #SproutChat
— Yelling Mule (@YellingMule) May 4, 2016
