Something really funny that's occurred to me is the way Joe talks about Maccie is like she's some catastrophic event that happened to their family "I can't believe she's been here that long." / "Everything's been different since she was born" / "Everything changed." / "She changed everything."

And it's just rlly funny to me. I want to up the dramaticness of his words at some point. And anyway, he's talking to the Samurai/Ronin for the first time and I'm wondering the impression he's getting lmao

Joe is certainly expressive to me, but only when he's given the chance. And I think w Ronin, he just started letting a lot of stuff out bc thus guy is gonna go on his way anyways.. but then he's like wait!!! Actually let me go?? For a little? (Platonic yearning so bad)

Me: Okay, was anybody going to tell me that less than 3% of the world’s population has my blood type, or was I just supposed to find out that out on wikipedia for myself?

I assumed that since type O+ blood is the most common, O- must also be common, but apparently Rh- blood is actually pretty rare outside of Europe and is still only about 15-16% of the population even there.

eta: all other slides used the phrase ‘d-negative individuals of childbearing potential’, which at the bare minimum is more inclusive in language. the earlier bit must have been missed when they were reviewing the module.

Understanding Hemogram

A hemogram can tell you a lot about your blood. For instance, red and white blood cells, as well as platelets (also called thrombocytes), will be counted and examined for size, shape, volume, and degree of organization. Specific factors that may affect these parameters include a total number of erythrocyte progenitor stem cells; RBC membrane stiffness; frequency of RBC production; distribution and frequency of phagocytosis (cellular breakdown); distribution and type of leukocytes (white blood cells) in circulation; vitamin deficiencies like folic acid or B12 deficiency. The number of toxic substances such as lead poisoning can also be analyzed from a hemogram.

Actually while I’m at it, I think it’s disrespectful the way Rhett sometimes tries to wink-wink-nudge the idea that interaction Link has with men (who aren’t him) (dentists, his “dad friends,” a neighbor because of a small shower window, etc) is probably of a sexual nature, whether Link is being “slutty” somehow or men are (clearly) only interested in spending time with him because they sexualize him.  And he acts like obviously everyone knows THAT.  

Meanwhile when Link sexualizes himself (or acts more free or interested in being sexual, I guess - like wearing short shorts, speedos, or wanting to pose nude at some point), Rhett acts like it’s gross or inappropriate.  Like which is it my dude.  Wake up and stop acting like this is everyone else’s problem - it’s just YOUR problem.  Link is allowed to interact with men without it being sexual in nature, and he’s also allowed to BE confident in his body without any of it being about what you think.

BUT I can acknowledge that Link has said things in the past that probably were taken the wrong way, like when he was younger and asked a man “do you like to PARTY,” which in his head was being friendly and wanting to know if there were any fun places to hang out in that town, and may not have sounded like that to anyone else.  That’s on him, but it’s about learning how to express himself clearly, not about how he’s just always due to be sexualized and it’s somehow his fault.

When Link talks about why he is interested in being more open or free physically, like thinking it would be interesting to try nude modeling, and what he thinks he would gain from the experience, Rhett always seems to want to shut it down by acting like he’s being an exhibitionist or inappropriate, and making “everyone” “uncomfortable.”  

Sorry but you guys so all sorts of things that make people “uncomfortable,” including sharing a LOT of personal and sexual details that nobody asks for.  And that’s your choice!  You get to do that, and it doesn’t matter if not everyone likes it (including me - I get to skip that content!).  It just seems hypocritical and gross to suddenly go from super mega sex positive to “well now you’re just making everyone UNcOmForTAbLe.”

YOU uncomfortable.  He’s making YOU uncomfortable.  And it’s not supposed to all be about YOU, Rhett.
