O primeiro vinho degustado ontem foi este belíssimo Chianti Classico, o “Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione 2013”. . Este é o vinho top de uma das minhas vinícolas preferidas no Chianti, a histórica @Ricasoli1141. . Pertencente à família Ricasoli desde 1141, o magnífico Castello di Brolio protegeu a região por séculos e assistiu o Barão Bettino Ricasoli (2 vezes primeiro-ministro da Itália) “criar” o vinho Chianti e delimitar sua área de produção em 1872. . Este vinho estupendo é elaborado com 90% Sangiovese e 5% Cabernet Sauvignon e Petit Verdot, provenientes dos melhores vinhedos da propriedade. É envelhecido por 21 meses em barricas e tonéis de carvalho francês (20% novos). . Na taça tinha coloração rubi clara e brilhante. Os aromas mostravam frutas vermelhas maduras, especiarias (pimenta-do-reino), mato molhado e, depois de algum tempo, bastante café. Na boca o vinho se mostra incrivelmente equilibrado, com boa fruta e acidez moderada, corpo médio- e taninos leves e muito elegantes. O final é longo e agradável. . Um vinhaço! One of my favourite producers of #Chianti Classico is Ricasoli.  I was happy to receive a bottle of their Brolio DOCG 2017 to review.  I have reviewed and recommended past vintages of this wine, and I will continue to recommend it with the tasting of this vintage. One thing that I like is when a good quality cork is used.  This cork is of excellent quality.  One solid piece with few holes visible.  Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 (BC $25.99 on sale till May 2) - a blend of 80% #Sangiovese, 15% #Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with skin contact then aged for 9 months in second and third fill tonneaus.   It has a medium-plus deep garnet colour that is translucent to the core.  It has a medium intensity nose with an intermingling of aromas that crossfade which is really interesting.  You get aromas of red fruits, cedar, plum, red cherries, a hint of sweet spices, and with some swirling a floral component at different times as you nose this wine. Last night was our first time to visit @mo_jumeira for dinner at @tascadubai ...It was a surprise to walk into a restaurant already welcoming the Dubai winter with their sliding doors open to the large terrace,pool & view.The menu had four sections:small bites,dishes to share,vegetarian & specials.Service was brisk & courteous with our friendly server Marco setting down menus,taking drink orders (a correctly-priced @ricasoli1141 Chianti & a Tasca martini),serving us warm bread, hummus & in-house smoked butter,soon after we sat down. ...We started with two small bites: the apple margarita-tequila-infused chili-salt green apple wedge, like a pre-dinner aperitif, the other was tempura cod cake, garlic & lemon emulsion. We were given two more small bites compliments of the chef: Algarve prawn ceviche-a single prawn atop a lime to be eaten in one bite,like a ceviche shot,squirting lime while biting into the prawn-the contrast of the cold marinated sweet prawn & the acidity of the lime was perfection.I get why this is one of their signature dishes.The other was the avocado tempura-crumb-coated avocado wedge, crispy and creamy. ...Next up were the tapas-sized dishes to share.We wanted to try their specialty Bulhao Pato clams but it wasn’t available so we chose the garlic prawns instead.Tender just-cooked prawns in a buttery garlic sauce perfect for dipping the warm bread.Josper-grilled Wagyu sirloin with yuzu and truffle sauce came next with a side of hot, crispy (& from what I guess were double-cooked) fries. ...We also had two vegetarian plates: roasted beetroot feta & roasted eggplant,mint pomegranate yoghurt. So far, so delicious. ... We finished with the strawberry rose pavlova & the classic Portuguese pastel de nata (which I could have had several of). ...Tasca was a great re-introduction to amazing Portuguese food ina reasonably-priced restaurant (a combination usually hard to find in Dubai hotels). Coroando o almoço com os amigos com um belo vinho italiano, já bem evoluído: o “Casalferro 2006” da @Ricasoli1141. . Um tinto “IGT Toscana”, corte de Sangiovese com Merlot, de um dos meus produtores preferidos no Chianti — o Barone Ricasoli e seu magnífico Castello di Brolio. . Este passa 18 meses maturando em barricas de carvalho francês. . Na taça, coloração granada. Ao nariz, poucas frutas (negra) passas, pimenta-do-reino, tabaco, chocolate e leve defumado. Na boca tem corpo medio, acidez moderada, taninos médios+ e muito maduros. Pouca fruta, especiarias secas e tabaco. . Um vinho excelente, equilibrado e complexo. Apesar de bem evoluído (com desenvolvimento terciário) está ainda bem vivo.
