One Shot: The Riddler/ Edward Nygma

Waking up at 2am without a certain Edward Nigma isn't what I seek in life. I want my fiancé in bed spooning me. Is that so much to ask for? But no, apparently his riddles mean more to him than I do.

I push the covers off of me and stand on the wooden floor. You see having a fiancé who is an Arkham escapee, means we can’t afford a place of high standard, meaning no carpet and, when walking around barefoot, a good chance of a splinter in the foot, which sucks.

I walk across from 'our' bedroom (emphasis on our, because since he was last defeated by Batman, he hasn't been in there), and into his office, to see him staring at a computer screen. I put my hands on my hips "Edward Nigma! Do you have any idea what time it is, surely this can wait till morning!" As soon as I start speaking, he jumps in his seat and starts to turn in his chair to face me. "Y/N, you're supposed to be sleeping, don't worry about me I'll be in in a minute." He said, while standing then kissing my forehead. "You said you'd come to bed 4 hours ago."

I sighed. "Edward please, I know that you want to prove your better than Batman, but all of this planning, sitting in here hour after hour, barely getting any sleep, isn't good for you. And anyway, I miss my soon-to-be-husband." I said staring into his eyes, begging him to come to bed. “Okay Y/N, I'll save what I've done and I'll be in, go get comfortable." He kisses me gently on the lips. I head back to bed, and get under the covers, laying on my side. Not 2 minutes later, I feel a dip in the bed, and arms circle my waist. "I love you Y/N". Edward said then kissed the side of my face. "I love you too Edward."
