Rina Patel (@rinapatelartist) joins us for the Abstract² Squarefoot show! Rina writes; “What do you wanna be when you grow up, Mama?” my five-year-old twins asked me when I told them that, they can be anything they want in life. ⁠ That is when I realized that I had put off my dream of being a full-time artist. Art has always been part of my life, but it always took a back seat to other priorities. I finally made my dream a priority and haven’t looked back. ⁠ ⁠ Growing up in India, color was a big part of my day-to-day life which gets reflected in my paintings along with my love for flowers and the beautiful natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.⁠ ⁠ Art is captivating to me as a language that connects the material and spiritual worlds. It also allows me to bridge my influential roots growing up in India to my current inspirational life in PNW. ⁠ ⁠ Through mindfulness, as I paint, I am able to connect to a deeper source within me, which is both healing and uplifting. I use spontaneous mark-making and paint intuitively.
