16) are there any characters who haunt you?

I’ve had the same OCs since I was about thirteen, so absolutely. Every few years I have a resurgence of Lily feels or Nsikhonsou feels or Cassandra feels or Wynne feels and I just cry forever because ONE DAY I’ll write their book.

The deeper they got into the forest, the warmer it seemed to be. There was no snow upon the ground and the trees above were lit by a strange silver light. Lily wanted to say that it was moonlight, but she knew that was not the case, for they were so deep within the forest that the trees knitted into one another above them like hundreds of cradled hands.

Of course, as is the way of witches, Lily could not sit on her curiosity for long.

“What is this place?” She wondered aloud as they scaled a fallen tree branch, worn into a path from centuries of feet.

“This is the Brightwood,” said Cassandra, as if it should be obvious, which she supposed it probably was to everyone else.

“I have never heard of such a place,” said Lily, gazing skywards.

21) what do you think when you read over your older work?

It mostly depends on how far back you go. If you go back two or three months then I’ll pick up on typos and adjust phrasing but mostly still love it. Once you hit the five year mark, omg. No. Five year old writing and older is the worst. I look at writing from 5+ years ago and it’s honestly a 50/50 between cringey and actually not that bad but still wtF WHY
