TRIPLE CROWN ENTERTAINMENT, or TRC for short, was founded by the former composer and rap artist, TIGER JK. originally created on nothing, Tiger JK's ambition to have his trainees carry on his legacy became an avant garde sensation in the States, Japan and Korea. Currently, TRC Entertainment remains the hardest company to enter. The training period for TRC Ent. is brutal and only a few trainees ever get to see the limelight of the stage. Only the most talented artists can survive TRC's rigorous training and see the shining end to their efforts.
CURRENT MALE TRAINEES: @rkpcy, @rkxtae, @rkseungjoon, @changminxrk, @rkxsicheng, @rkxjongsuk, @rkhyunjoon, @rkwoong, @rkyoungjae, @rkdongmin, @yutark

backdated –– joo haknyeon x lee juyeon ( @rkljy )
haknyeon’s a new kid in seoul, so naturally, everything catches his attention. even the part-timer at the convenience store near his school (and no, he does NOT have a crush on him).
there’s a bunch of convenience stores lined up across the side of the street near his school. which is great for haknyeon, really. it meant good food, good prices and lots of snacks. something that basically any growing boy would need. seoul is still new to him so it’s no surprise that haknyeon finds himself kind of lost on his way back home during his first week in school.
he stands in the middle of the pavement, lost and staring down at his map application. turn right? turn left? what did any of this mean? he purses his lips and finally pulls his eyes away from the screen only to catch sight of someone in one of the convenience stores. it’s a boy. older than him. much taller than him. with black hair and sharp features. and he’s not too sure why, but he can’t stop staring. standing outside the store, his eyes follow the worker from outside the window as he blinks. wow, he thinks. is everyone in seoul that good looking?
he’s snapped out of his daze when his phone rings though and he picks it up, only to have a very worried aunt almost yelling at him from the other line. “are you lost?! didn’t i tell you to call me if you’re lost? joo haknyeon!”
with a sigh, he begins to walk straight ahead, listening to his aunt’s loud voice boom through the speaker of his phone.
                                          ...
“there’s a pc bang nearby! let’s go there before it gets packed with other kids,” his friend says, wrapping an arm around haknyeon’s shoulder. haknyeon laughs as he tries to shake his friend’s grip off him, though as he shifts around, he spots the boy again. there’s a window dividing them once more and just like before, haknyeon pauses for a moment his eyes following the tall stranger. oh, he’s probably working today too.
“joo haknyeon! earth to joo haknyeon!” his friend says before he shakes haknyeon. “what are you looking at?” he peers over haknyeon’s shoulder before he lets out a loud oh! “you’re hungry aren’t you?” his friend asks teasingly. “they serve food at pc bangs you jeju kid. come on let’s go!”
haknyeon doesn’t put up much of a fight, simply lets the thought of the convenience store boy falter from his mind before he skips to the pc bang.
                                         ...
it’s not like he takes that route on purpose. more like he does so because it’s en route home and his friends like walking along that path. so more often than not he spots the boy there. haknyeon can’t really find the right words to describe him. he’s definitely good looking but there’s something else about him that catches haknyeon’s attention.
his friends are loud as usual as they make jokes but they never actually go inside that particular convenience store. haknyeon kind of wants to though; just out of curiosity. he simply wants a change of atmosphere. that’s all. that’s all there is to it really.
                                         ...
“do we have to? but why? we always go to the one just a few blocks from here!” his friend whines.
“yeah! plus the noona there already knows us. she sometimes slips in free treats for us,” his other friend chimes in.
“are you guys dogs?” haknyeon turns to his friends, making a face. “this one is closer to school! there are so many stores here, we can’t just limit ourselves to one or two stores, right?” he tries to make an argument, but he knows he sounds silly.
“i know why you really want to go there,” his friend says as he raises a brow at haknyeon. “you’re crushing on that part-timer there. come on, you can’t fool me. i see you making googly eyes at him all the time and shit. you’re so easy to read!”
haknyeon practically chokes on his own spit at this. him? crushing on whoever that part-timer was? he didn’t even know his name! impossible!
“you’re crazy!” he replies, eyes wide. “you know i like that girl from the class beside us! don’t go spouting nonsense man,” he shakes his head before sighing. “i just think it’d be nice to spice things up! go to a new store and all!”
his three friends eye each other before they finally give in to haknyeon’s idea, convinced.
they enter the store and haknyeon sneaks a glance (a glance!!!) at the part-timer. he squints in an attempt to read the name tag but the only thing he can read before his friend cries out with a loud “woah! they have the spicy chicken ramen here!” is ju.
he picks out ramen and a corndog for himself before he walks towards the counter to pay. juyeon the name reads. he looks at the stranger’s face before he confirms what he’d thought he already knew. he was really damn handsome. it wasn’t fair.
as he walks towards his friends, the sauce from the corndog spills onto his uniform and he frowns, pouting his lips. he could just grab a napkin to dab at the sauce, or he could just eat his corndog. he chooses the latter.
( “so are you glad that you got to see that cute part-timer, lover boy?” his friend teases.
“shut up man. i’m worried about my uniform now. my aunt is going to be so mad.” )
                                         ...
eggs. haknyeon needs eggs. he’s going to egg a school. particularly, hyunjoon’s school. he’s going to egg some school, some kids and probably their houses too. he needs eggs. when hyunjoon had told him about the problems he’d been facing haknyeon had gotten mad, red in the face. he’d never been so angry before.
he’d skipped class, decided that it wasn’t important enough for him to go to. not when he’s got other more important things to do. storming into the convenience store he marches to where the eggs are.
he grabs one carton, and then two and then three. and then realizes that he can’t carry all of them in one go before he places them on the counter. “wait,” he says, before he walks back towards the eggs and grabs another two more cartons. he’s heated and angry and he can’t wait to make those other boys suffer for what they’d done to hyunjoon.
he doesn’t even realize who the cashier is until he pulls out some cash to pay. it’s the tall, sort of good looking (very good looking) boy he’d seen before. and for some reason, haknyeon feels like he owes an explanation. he’s buying five cartons of eggs in the middle of the day when he should be in class. he probably should give some sort of explanation. “i’m planning to egg some kids. they made fun of my friend,” he says. real smooth, haknyeon thinks. he’s probably going to think you’re some weird kid now.
“can i join?” the boy’s reply catches haknyeon off guard. he blinks and furrows his brows before he actually, really looks up to take a good look at the stranger (or maybe he’s not really so much a stranger anymore).
“what?”
“let me egg them with you.”
and for the first time that day, haknyeon breaks out into soft laughter.

New Faces, Familiar Tongues
a starter for @rkhyunjoon
Sicheng very often spends the second half of his lunch hour on the phone with Xuxi, picking as private a corner as he can find to blabber to him in whichever mix of English or Mandarin felt most natural that particular day, generally giving him the benefit of not being easily understood by most of the people in TRC either way.
Today, Sicheng and him first discuss Xuxi’s puppy and her growing tendency towards incontinence, and then Sicheng nags him a bit to clean out his fridge; Xuxi’s apartment is the worst sort of bachelor pad, little furniture, and not much in the way of decor, but it’s the agéd condiments in the rear of the fridge that bother Sicheng the most.
He’s only vaguely aware of the glances that the other boy in the diner keeps sending his way, brushing them off until a couple of minutes after he’s hung up on Xuxi, when the mysterious boy approaches, asking rather timidly if Sicheng spoke Mandarin.
It takes Sicheng a second to place the kid, always forgetting that as an entertainment company, TRC did tend to take on new trainees every once in a while, but he offers him a meek smile once he does.
“Uh...yeah,” he says with a bit of a chuckle, trying not to come off as stiff, however bad he was at it, “I’m...Chinese. You’re...the Triple Threat kid, right? Um...congratulations!”

JUNE 2019 EVALUATION :: AHN YUJIN
[ variety month // running man ]
after the initial reveal of the theme of the month, yujin’s allowed a breath of fresh air as she’s finally back in her element. not to say she hasn’t been enjoying actually training her skills, but being silly and entertaining comes much more naturally.
such as the current situation, in which she finds herself the star of one of her absolutely favourite shows. anyone from her generation will attest, the nametag ripping game stands legendary among the masses. yujin’s only dreamed of participating in one for realsies, and now? well, well, well...
it’s a dream come true.
“changmin...you can trust me!” yujin tilts her head innocently even as she approaches the boy at a steady pace. “how long have we known each other— hey! wait!” her voice bursts out in laughter as she takes off running after him, long legs finally coming in use.
her many years of track meets? rewarded, as she almost catches up to the boy in their sprint down the hallway, but as they turn the corner, she runs straight into one of the unfamiliar trainees that changmin had somehow slipped past. “oh. uh—sorry, but i gotta jet!” she excuses herself before the man can target her for elimination, and thankfully, he doesn’t seem to give chase.
though many people (namely, jinsoul, hyunjoon, and somi), have eluded her so far, her stamina lasts her for longer than she expects. she suspects it’s partly the adrenaline keeping her pumped and ready to go at the drop of a hat. she’s already managed to snag two other nametags from random faces in the building, but there’s no reason to stop there. might as well go for three— no, five! heck, why not go for all of them?
and that’s when she runs into seungjoon, poor, unsuspecting little seungjoon. it takes almost no effort to sneak up behind him and rip off his nametag in one swift motion, the action now familiar and unforgiving. “sorry,” she shrugs apologetically, unable to hide her smile. “this is probably one of the only things i’ll be good at here so— let me have this one,” she tries to make it up to him with an excuse, but it proves fruitless as he walks away, betrayed. a sigh leaves her lips.
eventually, she manages to fail victim to her legs giving out a superior competitor right after securing her final nametag, and she’s exiled to the gym to think about what she’s done. no regrets, though, she thinks proudly on her walk towards said location, but her victims greet her with less-than-happy glances. maybe part of her feels bad for having eliminated them, but she’ll find a way to make it up to them somehow.

congratulations, kid
@rkhyunjoon
Myungsoo rung the doorbell and knocked on the door loudly of the Heo household, holding the tray of dumplings that he made close to his chest. It was Sunday night and he was due at Hyunjoon’s house for dinner that night to celebrate his Middle School graduation. Myungsoo had become close to Hyunjoon’s family because of his father having a connection with the newspaper company that Myungsoo worked for. At first, Myungsoo did not really know how to connect with the boy who was 10 years younger than him, but after Hyunjoon’s father’s passing Myungsoo felt a parental instinct take over him.
Myungsoo rang the doorbell again when nobody came to the door a few seconds later, speaking into the intercom, “Hyu~ Are you there~? Anybody? I cooked some meat dumplings for us!”

In The End
{ TW: Lots and lots of negativity }
“So hyung, what did that man want with you?”
It had started with such an innocent question. The dejection of watching his classmate win the entire event while his own name wasn’t even called for people they wished to see again had caused Eric to lose quite a bit of his good spirit and frankly he only wished to get back home, and that as quickly as possible. So when he noticed that Dowoon wasn’t actually following him and that he was being chatted up by some strange man too, he couldn’t help but become curious.
Although it had been obvious that the older of the two probably wasn’t going to win, Eric expected his brother to at least be a bit sad, a bit disheartened, but somehow the expression he wore in the bus back didn’t carry any sentiments like that. And on cue from the younger’s question he had pulled out a visit card and explained what had happened.
And in an instant Eric’s world broke to pieces.
“That’s really good!” he only barely croaked out with a smile on his face.
“You really deserve it, hyung!” came the follow up, surprisingly naturally to him.
In a sense those words really were the truth. But Eric had one very pressing question left in his mind: what about him?
For the rest of the bus ride Eric was simply sitting there absentmindedly, staring out the window while Dowoon was rambling on about what he should perform, panicking about what he should wear as usual, tugging the younger’s clothes in his despair over his lack of fashion sense. As expected his brother was hopeless without him. Absolutely hopeless. So why had Dowoon got an audition and not him? It wasn’t fair. None of this was fair.
Had Dowoon maybe mentioned any other company name perhaps Eric wouldn’t have felt so betrayed by the world. But it just had to be Royal didn’t it? It just had to be the company Eric himself almost considered not doing the challenge for because he wanted to join them. One could easily say that Dowoon was simply just living the dream he’d had all along now that he actually had a heart that could support it. But that dream was something Eric had taken over. Stolen was probably a more accurate term. Still not to terms with the fact that his brother could actually do stuff now, Eric, in his silent mind, still viewed him as that fragile boy who had to be saved, the person he had to sacrifice everything for.
But if he couldn’t make Dowoon’s dream his own, what was he even good for anymore?
He couldn’t save his brother.
He couldn’t make his brother happy.
He couldn’t do anything at all.
He was nothing.
No one.
The entire reason he was born was to aid his brother with all the things he couldn’t do. A living, breathing organ bank whose sole existence was to save. He gulped down his emotions as his eyes fixated on the buildings that passed by only to rest upon Dowoon’s reflection in the window. The other had fallen asleep now, probably too worn out by all the excitement of the day. How was this guy even going to be a trainee? His brother? His hopeless... useless brother?
For a moment an angry expression appeared on his face. He felt genuinely mad, and he wasn’t even sure if it was at Dowoon, if it was at Hyunjoon who had snatched the big prize before his very eyes, if it was at everyone else who had received auditions on that day, if it was at the scouts. Perhaps it was at everything at once. Perhaps it was at himself for simply not being good enough.
The bus jolted and shook Dowoon awake next to him, and in an instant the expression was gone as quickly as it had appeared, replaced by a smile. Even Eric was surprised with how easily he found it to hide away his real self at this very moment. Usually he was painfully honest to the point where it was a fault, but somehow he feared that if he let it all out now, he really would break. Dowoon seemed disoriented, and patting the other’s shoulder, Eric informed him that they had to get off in another two stops so he shouldn’t doze off again. As usual he was the one who had to do everything.
When they came home, Eric left Dowoon with their parents as the older eagerly talked about everything -- they didn’t need to hear the same boring story twice after all -- and instead he took over Jiyoo from their mother and carried her to the living room where he started playing with her, obviously disinterested by the whole thing. Or perhaps unnaturally so. But he firmly believed that no one had time to care about it anyway. And for a moment as he sat there with his baby sister Eric started wondering -- was even his wish to be a good big brother simply a mirror of Dowoon’s personality and behaviour?
Ten minutes or so passed where he was simply left to himself and his own devices before Dowoon came into the living room as well, watching him a bit, seemingly hesitantly, before finally sitting down in the sofa next to him. Eric didn’t pay him any heed, too focused on the baby that was now asleep in his arms, until Dowoon started speaking.
‘... Are you mad at me?’
The question came carefully, probing, and Eric’s gaze was now even more fixated on Jiyoo as he remained silent. For a full minute that felt like an eternity Dowoon mirrored that silence before he finally spoke again just as hesitantly.
‘I didn't ever expect... I honestly thought it would be YOU, y'know. I thought that guy was coming over to you... I thought it was a mistake but...’
Out of the corners of his eyes Eric could spot his brother don a sheepish smile. To make matters worse he had the nerves to dare a light chuckle as his tone turned joking for the next part.
‘Who knows? So Jisub might see my audition and crawl under his desk and cry, just because a scout thought I was good doesn't mean he will--’
Abruptly Eric stood up -- so abruptly that Jiyoo woke up again and gave a small cry until he handed her back to their mother. He didn’t even look back at Dowoon as he walked to his room and blocked the door with a chair. Just in case. He then let his body dump upon his bed, eyes glancing up at a bare spot on the ceiling. When it seemed like no one had followed him he let out a loud sigh and mumbled to himself. “So that’s a thing now, huh...” In that very moment he felt incredibly awful and miserable, jealous and petty.
He could do anything he set his mind on: that had always been Eric’s firm conviction, and until now it had never failed him -- his willpower just hadn’t been strong enough when he did fail was the excuse he used. Eric Sohn was a boy incapable of failure. So why did this whole thing feel like such a kick to the guts?
Another sigh left him, and he rose his arm to cover his eyes, even though there was no one in the empty room to watch as the tears started falling from his eyes.

flyer for : @rkhyunjoon ( dated: end of may )
he’s let into the home as if it’s his, and maybe after all this time and everything it was, a little bit. if someone knocked down a wall it’d probably take them a while to notice and, if they did, it was probably because there was also a hallway in between them. “hyunjoon-ah i’m coming in!” the older man opens the bedroom door slowly, and then all at once. “i have a gift for you... do you want to exchange?” in his hand is one of the trc flyers given to new trainees. as much as he was one, so was hyunjoon. “i bet mine is cooler.”

Noona! Congratulations reaching one year with luxe! it’s been really really amazing watching everything for luxe this year and I’m really proud to call you my cousin. you’re doing a great job as leader! I guess I should start calling you my inspiration now.” he laughs more. “call me when you’re free, okay? I miss you, noona…” he trails off as the voice mail comes to an end. ]
[ new voice message ;
“oops! I spoke to much! Anyway noona, I’ll keep working hard to meet you on stage one day! Okay? Don’t think I won’t! Luxe fighting!! Cheri noona fighting!! Bye bye!”
; end of voice message ]
the voicemail comes to no surprise to mijoo when she finds her phone hours after their vlive broadcast. while she had originally thought it had been for their timely call of the week, mijoo is stunned as she listens on and finds herself humbly surprised; albeit, amused at the other’s ramblings. she loved her cousin and the fact that he found time out of his own busy schedule at trc to leave her such a voicemail as well as keep up with the current events of her group made her feel all the more loved.
his words warmed her heart, soothing whatever ache she seemingly always carried with her. it were these words that have her immediately calling him back, a gentle reminder to not chide him too much for spending time leaving voicemails instead of practicing and instead allowing the remainder of their call include her somehow communicating in ‘cat’ speech to her little kitty back at hyunjoon’s home.

﹢ 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘯
his parents used to chastise him for being too considerate.  you’re too kind, his father once said, and too human, his mother echoed.  this was after he had given the little bit of money inside his red envelope to the homeless man across the street from his favorite restaurant.  he was six at the time and didn’t quite understand why his parents wanted him to spend the money on toys instead of on someone who clearly needed it more.  fast forward a few years, he now understands his parents’ mindset for what its worth---but when it comes down to commitment to action, he has to respectfully disagree with their views.  it doesn’t hurt to help, this he’ll go by, but it hurts when he doesn’t.  guilt would eat away his core  ( a wall made of thin, thin sticks )  every time he’d pass an upturned hat or a scarcely-loved guitar case.  and he’d turn back.  he’d always turn back.
so this is how he lives:  overly-considerate and, at times, a tad short on money.  usually, it’s fine;  he walks away feeling good, like he’s done a good deed.  today, however, that good, warm feeling doesn’t last long.
he has given a bit too much away to the performer a block back and is now just a coin away from his ride home.  naturally, he looks at the map to see how far he’d have to walk, and naturally, he panics because there’s no way he’s walking more than an hour in chilly february weather to get back.  this brings him to one of two choices:  relax in a cafe until a friend can swing by with some change, or ask a nice random stranger for help.  he decides, albeit fairly quickly, to do the latter ‘cause, well, he wants to go home  ( rather, he needs to get home, else gunhak will stink up the apartment by making mac & cheese ).
the criteria for approach?  looks friendly enough and isn’t in a rush anywhere.  it takes him a bit longer than anticipated to find anyone matching this criteria, but in due time, he spots a lonesome figure sitting on the steps amidst the busy streets of hongdae.  perfect.  “excuse me, i hope this isn’t a bother---”  he stops, takes in the boy’s dampened eyes and his lightly reddened, runny nose.  ah, shit.  “are . . are you okay?”  and because he’s too considerate, too kind, and too humane, he crouches down in front of this young stranger, his brow furrowed in genuine concern.  “are you alone here?”   —————  @rkhyunjoon
