jinwol is a 10/10 until it comes to the mc, because he suffers from the affliction of “gets worse the more he actually tries” this is unfortunate, because most people are so taken in by his looks his excellent manners and courteous (fake) nature is enough to charm most people. also unfortunate that mc doesn’t fit into the category of “most people” so i’ll give him a 4/10. will be bumped up to a 6/10 when he stops avoiding his feelings.

yul is probably somewhere around 3/10? i don’t think they’re particularly charming (￣ω￣) they’re unflinchingly blunt when it comes to most people and their relationship with the mc can’t exactly be described as them being the mc’s charismatic sajae. they’re fine with that though, they prefer being seen as mc’s cute little sajae. (the more harmless the better! right?)

iseul is 8/10 unintentionally. she’s very naturally charismatic and has a cheerful, energetic nature that lends itself to friendliness with most people. it can be a little much for some people, but she’s well-liked for a reason! i think when she tries she hovers around a 7/10 because she has a whole arsenal of romantic one-liners but she gets embarrassed saying them HAHAHA

??? is hard to place because i think they’re very good when they want to be (10/10) but they actively do not comprehend how to interact with people when it comes to their own feelings because it’s all new territory. so probably right down there with jinwol at a 4/10 because their idea of flirting with the mc is calling them an idiot.

How would the ROs react to an MC who leaves them cutesy little love notes hidden in their stuff? I just want to spoil all the babies (they are all some kind of baby)

jinwol would be confused at first and not really know how to react. think he’d first react as if it was a prank and find the mc with the note like “what is this supposed to be about?” and then get REALLY embarrassed once he realized. he’d probably start digging through all his papers and things as part of a routine and inevitably get pouty if he doesn’t find anything else. <- guy who gets conditioned easily

yul would be so delighted they’d start doing it back. little treats, drawings, gifts, all of them would start popping up in the mc’s pack or on their bed. they’d sincerely start trying to outdo the mc HAHA forget cute little notes you’re waking up to find several pages of a love letter tucked into your robes.

iseul would be incredibly starry-eyed over it. very much of a “mc that’s so sweet of you!” and she’d very carefully collect and preserve all the notes. probably chases down the mc to kiss them on the cheek every time she finds one of those (she’d literally run several kilometers just to do that and leave again.) definitely pulls the notes out and looks at them to cheer herself up once in a while.

??? is ABSOLUTELY the type of person to start doing that before the mc, not that they’d ever admit that. they’re probably the most scholarly out of the four, and adore composing verses of poetry when the mood strikes them. they probably have an entire booklet of poetry inspired by the mc but they’d rather die than hand it over. i think they’d be a liiiittle gruff about getting love notes (you’re wasting paper, mc) but you’ll still catch them carefully tucking it into their sleeves.

jinwol marks up really easily – this counts for injury-related bruises as well, but things like scratches and bite marks stay on his skin for a long time (and they're really visible because he's on the pale side.)

yul has a littleeee bit of a mean streak. for the most part they're perfectly content to go along with whatever the mc wants, but they also really like seeing the mc crying.

iseul has a Thing about fingers. the length, the shape, the heat, the utility... i could go on.

Oh here’s a classic! How would the ROs handle needing to go on a mission where they must be undercover with MC as a couple/married pair for a while?

jinwol would be an excellent actor right until it came to touching the mc HAHAHA he'd play the part as the besotted newlywed perfectly. he'd be super attentive and look totally in love but freeze up the moment the two of you held hands or god forbid, kissed. so as long as you don't initiate physical contact it should be fine!

yul would take to it like a fish in water! they'd be all over the idea of the two of you acting like newlyweds/a couple. and then comes the inevitable realization that the "acting" and your "daily life" have little to no differences. breakfast in bed, shoulder massages, little to no personal space, secret language the two of you only know...

iseul is nooooot a good actor. she'd be super stiff and clunky and treat you more like a close friend or a comrade than a lover/married spouse. i can't see her accepting missions like those either HAHAHA she's far more interested in being able to cut things with her sword. plus she's a little too well known to go undercover.

??? would do such a realistic job at it, it'd leave the mc questioning what was real and wasn't. gentle teasing, holding hands, feeding you, etc. they're the type of person to get too invested into a role they're playing, they suck everyone in around them with their magnetism. (that won't cause future complications at all, i'm sure.)

I haven’t seen it as much in Korean settings, but I’m morbidly curious how the ROs would handle a “dual cultivate or Die” situation where they’re not quite together with the PC? Like how much drama would we have trying to confront this lmao

the “dual cultivate or die” is still a common trope! it's usually depicted as one character having an imbalance in “ying” or “yang” in their qi/ki/chi/internal energy and the other character helps them manage it by smashing JSJFSJ

jinwol would lose his mind. assuming the mc is the one affected, i don't even think he'd know where to put his hands in that situation. he'd turn bright red with embarrassment and keep making strange, choked up noises while his brain turns to mush. he's supposed to what? with who???? the mental image of the mc in that state is going to haunt him the next few months. maybe even years.

yul would say things like "senior, tell me what you want me to do and i'll do it." random aside, but i feel like they'd be very bite-y once they got comfortable HAHA. they're going to do everything they can! there's no way they'll let anyone else see their precious senior like this. ever. they wouldn't know what they were doing so i think they'd need to have the mc talk them through the entire, ahem, situation. i think they're also the most likely to have misunderstandings and go "we're in a relationship now....right? 🥹"

iseul would be the most blasé about it in that situation. i hesitate to use the "no homo" meme but that's very her. what's a little necessary life-saving sex between two buddies? surely this won't have any consequences in the future!1!11!!! i think she would be a little flustered in the moment but it only really hits her like, a week later. would not be able to look the mc in the eyes after that.

??? would be the most conflicted about it. i genuinely think their first instinct would be to see if they could find someone else because surely the mc isn't going to want them to help in a situation like that. if the mc confirmed that yes, they wanted ??? specifically they'd try to go about it as "emotionless" as possible while having blaring sirens in their brain the entire time. (voted most likely ro to run off in a panic after sex JSFJSJS)

jinwol to his horror is totally into it. he'd think it was super cute how hard they're trying and would be telling himself things like "i can't possibly be this into them. there's no way." his reaction is basically that meme that's like "oh no i can't NOT fuck them" JAFSFJS

yul has no standards. as long as the intent is there they're going to watch you stumble over your words with a totally besotted gaze. you could call them the most ear-splittingly cringy pet names and they'd react with complete joy tbh.

iseul would try really hard not to burst out into laughter but she can't help it, she thinks you're just so cute. she'd probably end up laughing so hard she'd lose her breath, but she'd be flattered by the attempt. i also think she'd get something like cute aggression? like she'd squeeze you really hard in a hug or just impulsively kiss you right on the mouth HAHA

??? would be like🧍. they'd have no clue how to react, honestly. they've been around a lot when they were younger and also been with people renown for their seduction techniques, but they've never been approached with someone that bad at flirting before. i think the sincerity would make them short circuit (in a good way).

jinwol would surprisingly be pretty aggressive when it comes to pursuing the mc if he picked up on that. lots of time spent together, gifts, compliments, he's going all out and nobody can stop him. (they've got to notice one day if he does this. right? RIGHT?)

yul is having a great time. they'll be the mc's cute little junior forever and ever and if anyone says otherwise how dare they? it's all platonic. platonic hand-holding, platonic feeding one another, platonic bed-sharing... there's that one meme that's like me and my friend moved in together and have been living together for the past ten years and now we have a kid and i think i might be gay actually?! that's yul.

iseul is nooooot noticing anything. you're buddies! best friends forever! the both of you are basically the most oblivious idiots to exist and everyone who sees the both of you is screaming on the inside. she just thinks you're the most wonderful, cool person to ever exist and even though she sometimes dreams about you that's just a normal ordinary friend thing. haha.

speaking of ideal types, what are the ro's ideal types?

jinwol would say he doesn't have an "ideal type" if you asked him about it. he really tries to not think about romance in general because deep down his ideal type is the mc and admitting that opens up a can of worms he's not ready to deal with.

yul's ideal type is the mc.

iseul prefers older women, but i think she's ultimately attracted to kind people with strong morals. from a physical standpoint she also admires people with well-developed physiques! it's also partly why she doesn't recognize her attraction to the mc as "attraction" because they're definitely not a mysterious, kind-hearted muscular milf.

edit: adding onto this! iseul has also been viewed as a "hero" and treated like someone special from a very young age and that's shaped her perception on how her life should go; which ofc includes her views on romance and relationships, which are very idealistic.

jinwol would have a classic case of jinwol logic and rationalize it a him problem and therefore he can totally just die. i think it’d take a lot of convincing on the mc’s part that they were okay with it and even then the entire situation would just be really awkward. the combination of mc (has feelings) and my life is in danger (whatever) AND being intimate would be too much for him JAJEJJF

yul is interesting. i think they don’t mind seeming weak or looking like they help in the mc’s eyes, but that’s only when they have control of the situation and can use it to their advantage. they’d be unusually flustered. not that they don’t enjoy it (they do!) but i think being that unintentionally vulnerable would be a little jarring for them. there’s no one else they’d trust more.

iseul would be pretty much the same HAHAHA she’d treat it as a favor between two friends. no convincing needed on her end, the two of you can get this over with in the next twenty minutes, right? cue delayed reaction and a total freak out a whole week later.

??? would run off, tbh. they have enough problems with intimacy that this would freak them out. the mc would literally have to chase them down and that’s assuming they haven’t already dealt with the problem themself.

jinwol is the type of person to be satisfied with his successes for about one (1) second before he starts seeking validation through other people and thus ends up ruining it for himself HAHAHA. he's not the celebratory type with his personal victories for that reason!

yul would probably try to get praise from the mc! something along the lines of "guess what i managed to do!" with an expectant gaze or some (un)subtle hints.

iseul would probably treat herself to something like a sweet or a new manuscript she's been wanting to read. she gets fairly uncomfortable the more attention is drawn to her successes (unfortunately), so she's surprisingly reserved when it comes to celebrating herself. when it comes to her friends, however, she's ready to party all night. and into the next day.

??? is buying food, drink, and finding a nice view somewhere to spend a lethargic day or two. i think they end up rationalizing things as "i deserve to treat myself" pretty often, so i wouldn't say it's a special tradition. they're absolutely the type of person to say "i've worked hard" when they haven't and sleep in until the late afternoon. firm believer in tlc.
