Why is my YT algorithm recommending me videos about ancient torture methods

I think the first media that I really related to on this front was TRON: Legacy when I was like 13-14 years old. Not quite a robot, per se, but the concept of a faceless, distinctly not human computer entity fascinated me.

Droids in Star Wars were another major interest for me - I adored assassin droids and KX units and even vulture droids. Y'know how L3-37 dies in Solo? And then her nav system gets plugged into the Millennium Falcon so she's a part of it forever? That fucked me up bad. I bawled more than in any other scene in the franchise.

But I think what really got my robotbrain going was Titanfall 2. I played so much of that game's campaign (got the platinum several times) and multiplayer, but like

whenever I played multiplayer, I frequently ran the stim pilot, partially because it was a robot. And obviously, I loved playing as a titan (I was a Scorch main), just feeling completely immersed in this giant efficient beautiful chassis. And don't get me started on the campaign lol - I still cry my eyes out every time.

But yeah, I think playing TF|2 multiplayer and getting super immersed eventually made me think like, o shit wait a minute, I relate way too much to this shit. Ofc I repressed for a while until after I realized what therianthropy/otherkin is, and now we're here ^w^

When robots die in movies/games it's always incredibly sad because they're written better than the rest of the cast. But I remember watching The Martian, you know that 2015 movie with Matt Damon? And not being able to hold in my tears when he had to leave the rover behind and wrote a note saying to "take care of her, she saved my life" I think that was the first instance I realised there were things I had to figure out.

My spare #robotbrain came! Being the overly cautious person that I am, I like to have backups for "mission critical" equipment, especially when the "mission" is my #MFAthesis . . When I get settled into a more permanent studio, this will become another #ceramics #3dprinter , but for now, I'm keeping this handy in case my current #robotic collaborator goes rampant on me. . #OMGstillGradSchool (at RIT College of Imaging Arts and Sciences)
