here’s my (very late) entry for @rochuweek day 2!!

the prompt was ‘love at first sight’ (“一见钟情，一见倾心”). i started working on this 3 days ago and had no idea it would take longer than expected!! i’m really happy with how it turned out though! :)

i like to think that a moment like that would be something like only the two of them seeing each other for a second, only for a short period of time where it is just them, so I decided to draw the other background figures as silhouettes distinguished as a passing crowd :)

Ivan is young police officer in Shanghai. Yao a bit older than Ivan but still energetic as ever. He have a very popular restaurant. Everything seems to be normal... well almost. There's a meat deficit in city/country in general. But that not so big problem then you have fresh meat walking around you.

RoChu Week - Day 5: Nightmare/Dream

Prompt: Nightmare/Dream

Ivan had a wild variety of dreams, some scarier than others. There was one in particular which always gave him a cold sweat.

“You want to go grocery shopping together after?”

“Sure.” Yao grabbed his wallet.

“Have fun!” Ivan did some work for his government while Yao got his hair trimmed. 

In his dream, this all took no more than a few seconds. But his dream state didn’t do anything to soften the shock. 

Yao walked in and Ivan finished up his work. When he looked properly, he saw that Yao’s hair had been cut short…

Ivan shot awake.

“Hey, what is it?”

“Nothing...”

Yao pushed himself up. “Did you have a bad dream?”

“Yes, but...”

He stroked the blond hair away. “What was it about?”

“Something stupid...”

“You can tell me.” He cupped Ivan’s face.

“You...”

“Me? What did I do?”

He touched Yao’s hair. It was still there.

“...That dream again?”

Ivan nodded.

Yao smiled and rolled his eyes. “I love you, but you can be a bit odd sometimes.”

“If you’re ever going to cut it, can I have a warning beforehand? So I can mentally prepare myself?”

“Of course. Now, go back to sleep.”

Ivan nodded and pulled Yao against him.

“Goodnight.”

“Goodnight,” he mumbled, stroking Yao’s hair while he drifted off.

Yao smiled. “Silly bear.”

Note: It’s been so long since I last wrote for this ship and this fandom in general, but damn, the feels-! Anyway, wrote this for RoChu week.

Prompt: Playing with hair

It was a quiet day spent on the couch, watching shows or movies basically whatever was playing on their television, legs tangled with each other’s and arms loosely wrapped around their bodies, the black strands of a certain man spread out around his chest. And every time he looked down, the full head of black hair would greet him.

A faintly low hum causes vibration from his chest, prompting the smaller man to glance up at him in question. Amber eyes meet with light violets and they blink at each other for a moment before he’s reaching up to those long strands of darkness. It’s black, the colour of nothingness and void yet he finds it soothing to stare at, to watch it frame his boyfriend’s round face and make his bright amber coloured eyes pop out even more.

“What are you smiling for?” A black brow rose and a small frown appears on the smaller man’s lip.

He blinks, “I’m smiling-?” he asks as if he’s completely unaware of it happening which he completely is.

“Hmm, yeah” he hums out, poking a finger to the Russian’s cheek before speaking up again, “What are you thinking about?” he spoke, quietly asking as a light pink spreads across his cheeks.

“Well…” he trails off, treading his fingers through the silkiness of his lover’s hair, “You’re just so cute-!” he giggled and smiled, big and gleaming.

A hand squishes his face as the light pink turns into a bright, darker shade, “I’m being serious, Ivan-!”

“And so am I…”

There’s a pause between them- cupping the black haired man’s face with his large hand, moving his thumb across the pinkish pale cheek of his small boyfriend before he removes his hand and pulls him closer to himself, burying his face into the blackness of his lover’s hair, “Thank you, Yao-yao…” he whispers and the silence continues, whilst slender arms return his hug.

He pretends that he didn’t hear it even though those words so familiar to him were spoken right near his ear, he still pretends he didn’t hear anything. Ivan would be like this from time to time, suddenly going quiet and then say things like ‘thank you’, ‘stay’, ‘I love you’- he’s heard all of them but he’s still taken aback every time it happens because, for him, he feels that he should be the one thanking the Russian male instead; thanking him for putting up with him becausse he knows that he puts up an attitude sometimes and maybe throw a fit even worse than that yet Ivan doesn’t care about those because he loves him for who he is and would accept him no matter what happens to them- Ivan’s words, not his.

He closes his eyes and places a hand to the taller man’s head, gently running his fingers through pale, nearly white, coloured hair and inhales deeply to breathe in his boyfriend’s scent. Thank you.

I spent the whole day surrounded by kids so I didn't have much time, BUT they did make me wanna do a fridge-drawing type thing so .... China is wondering how he's gonna get outta this one. Also, somet random I found out a while ago, the Russian word for China (Kitay) sounds a lot like "kitty" :p just thought it was kinda cute.
