Ser Cauthrian: You have torn Ferelden apart to oppose the man who ensured that you were born into freedom.
Catalina, an alienage elf, whose neighbors and friends were just sold into slavery, which Loghain signed off on: yeah go to hell

also this was so fucking funny when I was playing last night. so there’s the first part of Leliana’s personal quest where you’re attacked by the assassins and the cut scene triggers when you knock the lead assassin down to a certain amount of health. but Tabris had....some sort of status effect put on her, maybe the Mark of Death from the assassin tree, and since the game jumps immediately from combat to cut scene there’s no time for it to register combat is over, fade out on that effect
so she’s just. glowing creepy red. the whole cut scene. I’m not going to get over this. I love fuckups like this.

Hey who doesn’t want to see a bunch of pictures of my warden, right? Because she’s beautiful and I love her so everyone else needs to look at her.

“Whatever my regrets may be for the elves, I have done what was needed for the good of Ferelden.”
this part where Loghain tries to justify selling alienage elves into slavery is definitely a part where Zevran and Alistair have to hold Cata back from just drawing a dagger and lunging at his throat. there’s no [attack] option right now so I can’t actually roleplay the exact disaster that this is gonna be.
I mean we just hit the point where Anora comes in and throws the warden under the bus so yeah. disaster.

I’M FUCKING CRYING so this playthrough I finally decided to do Slim Couldry’s crime sidequests and I ask him for info on a good place to rob and he tells me of a good mark except the dialogue options that pop up for me are “I already robbed that place” because when I was exploring that tavern I just popped all the locks and looted everything because that’s what I do

Also giving Shmooples to Leliana kicked me up to the next level of friendship and then there was a conversation about Marjolene that I haven’t gotten to before except then I accidentally took a wrong turn and made Leliana fall in love with me so uh let’s reload and try again

Eamon’s giving a reward for saving Redcliffe and he’s like “and for you, Warden, a shield of the same make as those that have been given to our finest knights”
Cata, a dual-wielding rogue: Uh sure thanks -turns to Alistair- hey want a shield?

I gave Sten a gift and chatted with him some and now Alistair is my lowest approval character lmao now’s where I throw random gifts at him to get the romance started like I was trying to get there organically but I hit the stalling point and the only dialogue options I have left are out of character for my warden so it’s OOC or throwing gifts at him and I pick the latter

Oh, I got the dialogues with Wynne and Shale about them going to Tevinter to research a way to reverse the golem process. Oh nice.
Wynne has a line of “I doubt we will meet again, my dear” and that makes me sad, even though I know I do see her in Awakening. I remember the first time I played the game - since I didn’t get the bits with Shale - she stayed around Denerim for a while as court enchanter, but I really can’t see her sticking around anywhere for too long like that. She’s off with Shale and then with Circle politics and....after Awakening she and Cata probably don’t see each other again. They’d write letters and keep in touch until... until.
Anyway look at me making myself sad at the happy victory celebration.
Sten’s farewell is more hopeful: “Perhaps I shall see you again one day.”

runningwolf62 replied to your post “You know, I read somewhere that the Dark Ritual was originally...”
I'm dying
Please make this canon
Alistair’s hung up on the “you cheated on me with MORRIGAN?!” part and Cata’s like “yeah and we won’t die when we kill the archdemon, keep up” like they’re both greatly concerned with very different parts of this whole thing.
Alistair thinks she’s joking at first, as he canonically responds, and then he’s just looking at her and she’s got this wild-eyed half-unhinged high strung look at he’s like “oh Maker, you’re not joking, you did, but why? Is this revenge for me almost breaking up with you after the Landsmeet?”
and Cata’s like “okay so I may have started this conversation with the wrong thing, what I should have said is ‘hey Alistair neither of us have to die when we kill the archdemon’ and then when you asked what that’s when I say I cheated on you with Morrigan for a magic sex ritual that’ll save us”
“Yeah, I’m still confused.”

oh nice the Landsmeet is mostly standing with me even though Anora shot the first plan straight to hell. solid.
“The warden helped me personally in a...family matter” I assassinated someone for you didn’t I, probably.

Loghain: This is my City, and is no safe space to speak treason, for anyone.
Catalina: I already got sentenced to death for murdering nobles in Denerim, and I’m totally down for a repeat of such.

It’s time for the juicy gossip conversation with Alistair and I love him asking “Zevran. You cant... trust him, can you? Do you believe his so-called vow?” because the response of all of my Wardens but especially Cata is “he’s my best friend and I’d trust him with my life and I’d die for him”
if you’re in a romance with Alistair you can ask him if he’s jealous too

I love bringing Zevran along for the quest in Denerim where you can talk to the Crow master and get some assignments from him, because Zevran is very suspicious (rightly so) and protective of the warden and Ignacio is dismissive of Zevran but then you can say “but you were hired to kill me” to Ignacio and he’s like “no, an associate was hired to kill you, and failed - failed badly.”

this is my favorite part of Origins: finding a horrific blood potion that’s been sitting out for 300 years and then just fucking chugging it because fuck you. and not a single one of your companions says anything.

ZEVRAN GOT THE KILLING BLOW ANIMATION ON THE ARCHDEMON AGAIN. HE DID THAT THE FIRST TIME I EVER PLAYED ORIGINS.
that seals it. that’s canon. canonically, Zevran just rushes the archdemon as it starts to falter and hops on its head and kicks its ass enough so that it falls and Cata can kill it. he’s had enough practice fighting dragons with Cata fighting Flemeth and the Temple dragon that he’s like “mm yeah I know how this goes, I got this”
