My art submission for Rosa the sea otter's birthday! I'm absolutely moved by the love and cuteness of Rosa taking care of so many orphaned sea otter pups so I drew her reading stories to her grandpups.
Anyway here's my submission for the DougDoug Art Contest. I've grown a lot as an artist since the last time I submitted something for Rosa's birthday back in 2021 (still can't believe I won that year lol)
I wanted to give this year all I got, even busted out the Live2D to animate it! R.I.P my iPad though, she doesn't have much life left after this one.
Making this really cheered me up, as things have been going pretty bad in my personal life. Because of that, I hadn't had much energy or time to draw, but with this I was really excited to work on it nonstop! I hope my art can bring others the same joy it brought me while creating it!
Here's a piece I drew of/for @montereybayaquarium's very own Rosa, whose birthday is just around the corner! She's one of my favorite otters, which is no small feat.
I wanted to do something a little like Zelda: Wind Waker or Cartoon Saloon with a stained-glass, faux-celtic look.
I've been watching dougdoug's annual birthday celebration for Rosa the sea otter for the last 2 years and this year I figured I'd take a chance to do some fanart for it :3
Hoping I have time to clean this sketch up before the submission deadline is up
