I'm wearing my UV handprint Malex fic shirt today and just got angry all over again about Vlamis having to write a fic about something that was set up from the start of the show that they just refused to deliver on. Like, nearly from the start everyone was waiting for a Malex handprint healing but especially after the pod squad started having each others powers. And we got a whole storyline about a bomb to kill anyone with Manes DNA, but somehow pivited to make it about m*ria instead. We got Alex being influenced by the Lockhart Machine and rescued by Michael, but sent to Deep Sky to be scanned and fixed. We got Alex dying from alien planet radiation and possibly not making it to their wedding and we STILL fucking got shafted and had him healed off screen. Like....*screams* ANYWAY. I adore every piece of RNM/Malex Vlambase merch I own but I absolutely cannot think about the show when I wear it or shit like this happens.

Thank god for those cropped stills because they are the REAL stills 😂 not me ignoring who else is in the second photo or focusing on the first one because I want them to exchange the bandanna and ring as a promise that this is their time. Maybe I'll get to finishing the mind scape part of my other spite fic!

SaL anon here friend, wishing you a Happy New Year 🎉🎆🍾!! Hope things are going well so far and you're not too drenched in ice or snow or cold (my brother is in NM and he's freezing his ass off apparently). For reasons that definitely include the upcoming season's proximity, I'm going to try to get more into 911 LS this year. I've decided that while we've got excellent taste in ships, we've done poorly in focusing on shows where those ships can thrive, meaning they have a showrunner who can
tell a compelling story, writers who can bring that story to life, and a promo team that can get the audience excited. Let's take just promo for example. LS just came out with its 2nd or 3rd trailer and it's still 3 week's away!! Even if they are also doing smaller emergencies, the frog storm looked a hell of a lot of more exciting than the blimp "emergency". And from what I've seen of the stills, it will feature a lot of Tarlos, and I haven't seen much in the way of guest stars. Contrast that with RNM. We all remember the seasonal promo posters that looked like an elementary school project and the 5 sec episode previews they abandoned during S4 (this isn't even considering the episode synopsis where if a particular character was mentioned my excitement level flatlined). Then there's the Malex if it all, remember we got so excited when a still of them was promoted on Twitter for 4x02 since it had literally never been done before?? Sad days. And as for OG lately we've gotten confusing/inaccurate episode synopsis, previews of scenes that were made to look intense and turned out to be "meh", stills released right before the episode and then 50 scenes released the day it premieres. Its a mess. And I guess I can't complain that those things didn't feature Buddie since there wasn't anything in the season for them to feature.  I don't think we have to rehash the baffling and horrible writing choices of both RNM and OG's showrunners those are well documented. So that leaves the individual writing of each show, where RNM abandoned logic and 911 abandoned emotion in order to force scenes that did no one any favors. Anyway this got longer than intended and ultimately saltier, I was trying to say Happy New Year and it turned into this. So again happy New year!! Maybe with time and GA input KR will come up with a plotline that doesn't make me hear nails on a chalkboard when it's mentioned.
Hi my friend and Happy New Year to you as well, even though this is now a few days late. (I wanted to finish the book I started yesterday, a sequel to a romcom I very much enjoyed and one of the only actual books I’ve managed to read recently, but it ended up being kind of awful and torpedoed my whole day and sucked the serotonin right out of me instead of giving me MORE like it was supposed to 😒😒😒 hate this for me. So I put this off a little longer so I didn’t end up being TOO salty or going off on a fully unrelated tangent). Luckily I’m back home where it’s chilly (for me) but nothing too wet or miserable and I got to enjoy some sweatpants for a few days before I have to go back to my cold office and uncomfortable work clothes.
You’re so right, we DO have excellent taste in ships but whooo boy WHAT is the deal with being shafted by shows? (And now books too apparently because my life is a joke, hell bent on not allowing me to thrive with the things I find joy in.) I have been soooo jealous of not just the promo coming out so early, but also official stills coming from set during filming! OG couldn’t even get stills for for some episodes until a few hours before airing! To say nothing of the incorrect synopsis/previews, and 700 clips released on episode day messes. Plus LS got new cast photos this year while OG has still been using stuff from s1-2!  I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t been paying much if any attention to news about LS so all I know is the Tarlos stuff sounds really exciting and the only guest stars I remember is for some FBI/DEA something or other operation that (of course) Owen is for some reason involved in helping with. Color me unsurprised. But knowing that’s how LS has been pretty much from the jump, it’s easier to just grit my teeth through the Owen centricity and sometimes it’s at least entertaining 🤷🏻‍♀️ The frog thing sounds interesting but definitely feels like a “hook” that’s going to end up being almost nothing and quickly resolved but if we’re lucky we’ll at least get some jokes out of it about TK taking one home and Carlos getting a panicked look about it. Also, the LS emergencies have never had quite the resonance or the tie in with the main plots that OG had so them cutting back after the ice storm (which really was excessive at 4 episodes and by cutting down on the weird Owen centricity could have been done in 2 *maybe* 2.5 or 3 episodes tops, revolving around the group as a whole more) isn’t probably going to change the format of regular episodes much from previous seasons. But with the wedding coming up, the possibility of Carlos getting injured, and Ronan being a tease and really excited for multiple episodes, I feel like the Tarlos stuff is going to be really good!
I’m cackling because taking shots at the RNM promo department will never NOT be funny. I mean, honestly WTF was their deal with promo posters?! *insert “is this a promo poster for ANTS” gif here* At least they were somewhat more honest by always seaming to make Alex the smallest and furthest away and never near Michael which is....mostly what we got after s1 so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. Not that OG 911 is much better since there’s a fan that does massively impressive posters for episodes that completely outshine anything the official team does.
ANYWAY, I’m with you down in the salt mine and surrounded by wasted potential so lets hope this year we can finally get some more fulfilling stories/storylines, and that our beloved OG wee-woos can get back on track. The only good thing about them having a longer hiatus is they have the chance to take the reaction to the finale, especially Buck’s mess of a storyline, and 6a as a whole into consideration and maybe make some changes. Honestly if they completely dropped Buck’s storyline and it never came up ever again I wouldn’t even care and would actually prefer that at this point. Remember when he got meaty storylines that involved the other main characters and was the focus for a few episodes and then arcs finished and new ones started and we got several things going on for multiple characters at once? *cracked voice* yeah.... Well, here’s to hoping! 🍾🥂 *clink*

SaL anon here my friend, saying hi after a long absence!! I don't know why this summer is kicking my ass so much, I've been in a rut of absolute apathy about everything, including putting in the effort to rewatch my comfort shows. But things are getting better and sometimes its the small things that get you back up (for me specifically its the return of Puppet History, an absolute gem I highly recommend).
Anywho hope the summer is going well for you despite the summer and global warming of it all. Don't know about you but I'm still pretty bitter about 911 and really the way so many of the shows we've enjoyed were mishandled so badly. And with the writers and actors (very rightfully) on strike it could be awhile before we get any sort of idea what's going to happen in s7 so I figure we've got time to get some of that bitterness out through some salty competitions. So to start which series finale had the worse ending, RNM or 911 (I know 911 isn't over but its over on fox so it kinda counts)? A lengthy justification of your choice is encouraged!!
Hello friend! I got this while I was out of town at a concert with my mom so I'm just getting around to this today. I also thought this summer was going to be Super Chill and Time To Catch Up On Things but we have been weirdly SO BUSY every weekend and had numerous unexpected Things happen (the fridge went out, thought it was fixed, it went out again, one of the cats had to go to the emergency vet an hour away and is now on new special food forever etc) and it's not slowing down any time soon! Sorry you're in your apathy rut era, I was absolutely there too recently so I know what that's like! I hope you can find some joy again soon! (I know everyone else Hates Summer, but I love not being cold all the time and heat and sunshine are what give me life so I'm currently on a slightly more energized kick which I'm going to try and use to Get Some Shit Done in regards to home improvement and self-care.)
I haven't ever watched Puppet History but it sounds delightful and with the strikes going on (take 'em down WAG/SAG AFTRA!) I'm sure I will be finding time to watch all the things I never got around to. I'm currently nearly finished with Resident Alien which has been a delight, and me and my mom are watching White Collar which has been a lot of fun for us.
Okay, now time for The Salt Mine.
It's funny that you bring up the RNM finale because I JUST saw a post the other day of Malex comparison kisses but the one they used from the finale is a wide shot and LITERALLY the main color focus drawing the eye in the shot is that goddamn fucking red dress under the bright lights of the bar, and only then, second, is the pink light Malex is under while in the darker, shadowed part of the bar. Sooooo I've been feeling salty about that for daaaaays.
It's a tough call to pit these two against each other because 911 literally shoved Buck and Eddie into "endgame" relationships with random characters they have zero chemistry with and that we know next to nothing about (Marisol) or everything we know is Not Great (Natalia). They really thought this was the end of the show and would rather waste time on these side characters and forcing these relationships rather than focus on the firefam and found family of it all and showing the core cast of characters TOGETHER as a FAMILY in the end. They rushed through the emergency and the feels we SHOULD have spent time on with everyone being hurt and seeing the firefam worry about and fight to rescue each other, all so KR could have time to (poorly) wrap up the 7000 plotlines she made for Buck because she apparently doesn't like or care about any of the other characters and only cares about Buck insofar as she can make jokes about his junk and sex life and how she can use his character to insert new ones she wants to have instead of using the characters she already has. However, despite all that mess, there WERE some good moments in the finale for the firefam and the bridge collapse was good, if too short to do what it was intended to do. 911's practical effects have ALWAYS been a highlight of the show and one of the things that makes it great so it was good to see some effort put into that side of the show again.
But, even with all the missteps of the 911 finale, RNM fumbled the ball on literally EVERYTHING in their finale. There was a Malex wedding, but it focused entirely on Michael and we didn't get to see Alex's POV on anything (not even anything about being on death's doorstep and magically being healed which happened entirely off screen and we didn't get to hear from Alex about it at all) except how he was perfectly happy having NONE of his family there for the wedding because god forbid m*ria be uncomfortable for 5 seconds because everything is about HER and how SHE feels 🙄🙄🙄 We got more focus on m*ria than we did Alex at his own goddamn wedding! And aside from that whole mess, the finale also separated Max and Liz, the supposed main couple of the show! The show ended forever with the lead in tears as Max goes to an alien planet for who knows how long! WTF kind of ending is that?! The show really made it hard to root for Max and Liz because the writing for them was just...not what it needed to be, but Jeanine and NDP had great chemistry and when they let them be in love they had some GREAT moments. I just wanted to root for them more but they constantly put them on opposite sides of every little thing they came across so they were never really able to work TOGETHER on anything and it was frustrating. Even so, I wanted a better ending for them after seasons of fighting and being so on again/off again the whole time. Jeanine especially got screwed over in what SHOULD have been Liz's show and I hate that being left behind was her ending. And that's not even going into all the plotholes and storylines the show just half-assed or flat out didn't address, and things that got dropped along the way and never explained. I know I say it A Lot about 911, but good god, the RNM cast, characters, and the base storylines they started the show with deserved SO much better than what they got consistently from the s1 finale through the end of the show.
Despite all of 911s flaws and faults, I still think they can come back from it all if they go back to the formula used in the early seasons for pacing and storyline distribution and focus on the firefam as a unit together, and given that the issues brought up by fans were pretty similar across all platforms and mirrored oftentimes by professional reviews, there's some hope for change moving forward on a new network. If RNM had been given another season I'm sure they still would not have resolved any of the plotholes and would probably have just made them worse while creating new ones 🤷🏻‍♀️
So I have to go with RNM for having the worst finale but damn if 911 didn't give it a run for it's money!
I was good hearing from you my friend! I had high hopes to work on my Countdowns fic this summer but I just have not had a weekend to myself! My niece will be visiting this whole week and my nephew is due to arrive in August but may come earlier, plus I'm working on getting out of town for some shows (and out of state if I can swing it to see Ed Sheeran), and working on some remodel work in my bedroom so we'll see when things start to slow down if I have any brain power left to write, much less do any of the other craft projects I have pending! I am confident I will get the baby blanket I'm working on done in time but everything else is up in the air. Remember when summer was time to relax? Anyway, I am ALWAYS here for your salty thoughts or anything else you wanna talk about. In the meantime, lets all manifest a good outcome for the striking workers!

SaL anon here friend since LS premieres tonight, which I know we don't usually have a lot of fanfare for but I'm holding out hope for this season. Let's face it bestie, we could use a win this (TV) year, and the final ever season of RNM was so deeply disappointing (only not reaching the level of being the most disappointing thing ever by the existence of RNM S2), and 6a of OG has waffled between boring and aggrevating (with one or two bright spots), and nothing about 6b we know so far is giving
me much hope (namely that KR is still in charge). So yeah, since Tim's spent all his time on it I would really appreciate LS giving us some serotonin so we can FINALLY get back to our roots and talk songs. Between the 21 episodes of RNM and 6a we've done 3 or 4 songs maybe?? It's depressing. I'd like to finally get good, coherent storylines *double glares at OG and RNM* to flail about. At least I feel confident Tim won't actually have "Tarlos" appear at the Tarlos wedding 🙄🙄🙄.
Hi my friends, and happy Yee-haw Weewoo day! Fingers crossed we will finally get fed some good good food because damn could we use the win. A couple of my RNM s4 posts about m*ria showed up in my notifications recently and I got salty all over again after I’d been doing so well using Vlambase retail therapy to try and drown my frustrations. And I think the fact the 911 fandom is sooo dead right now speaks to the quality of 6a. I’m excited to see if we FINALLY get a good opening knowing that Brad is back and it looked like some cool stuff was being filmed before Christmas, but he also did the s5 premier and even the escaped zoo animals couldn’t compensate for the writing being focused on literally anything but the firefam and saving people during a blackout so I’m trying to manage expectations. The rest though? Lots of recycled ideas, the same writers, and untrained directors doesn’t exactly spark joy or excitement knowing what that has meant during KR’s tenure. Love that the show seems content with continuing to do the same thing over and over and hoping they will get a different result 🙄🙄🙄
But as much as I am a far more casual viewer for LS (I’m usually pretty content with what we get and aside from the Owen-centricity issue I don’t usually have any major complaints) I would be THRILLED if we could finally be given enough to work with to do some songs again! I’m also looking forward to getting a wedding that’s actually about BOTH characters getting married AND where we might get to hear some vows which both RNM AND 911 robbed us of.
Tumblr media
And okay, you KNOW that we are going to go into the wedding episode and see a “Tarlos” banner Nancy made now, right? I can *feel* the jinx happening as we speak...🤣
Anyway, cheers and fingers crossed and all that good stuff! 🥂 I am READY for some easy enjoyment tv and crunching popcorn while people’s lives are in peril. Let’s goooooo!

The way we could have had a whole season of Alex communicating with Michael through flashing lights and ringing bells, seeing Michael having one-sided arguments with Alex where you can *feel* his sass, Michael quietly whispering how he misses Alex and he's working so hard to get him home, Bonnie making a pass at Michael and something exploding nearby, and then Michael going frantic when the lights and stuff suddenly go crazy and then quit and Alex stops answering....like, we could have ABSOLUTELY still had so much Malex/Alex in feeling and in spirit without Tyler being there if he was unable to film. Vlamis would have absolutely sold it, (as would Trevino and Jeanine because we should have had the science bros all 3 working together), and it would have kept Alex in the center of the story, and SHOWN us Michael thinking about him all the time, so WHEN something happens, the fear and panic feel more genuine for the character, but also the audience because we would have seen them working together every step of the way.
I just...HOW do you have cosmic soulmates who are so desperate to be together, who are aching to not be separated even for a week or two, have one of them get kidnapped which is what angsty dreams are made of, and then bungle it THIS BADLY? Like, you have to WORK to undercut the narrative this hard, meaning it was an active choice to sideline Alex/Malex from the story.

Okay, no you know what? I’m not done. Because I’m already seeing people slamming Alex stans and saying that the show at least “supported” Tyler during this time and while yeah, he wasn’t fired and written off the show if you think his time off came with no repercussions you haven’t been paying attention.
The character that he loved and felt so connected to and was so excited to play, got put in a hole in the ground and forgotten about. His soulmate wasn’t even allowed to miss him, or notice he was gone 90% of the time and spent all his scenes with the new girl who kissed him, or his ex, putting their feet up and chilling. Alex wasn’t even allowed to reach out to his cosmic soulmate!! He had to reach out to Michael’s ex, the woman who literally came between them while since season 1 Tyler’s character has not ever been allowed to be hurt or angry about any of that.
His “friends” didn’t notice he was missing and weren’t allowed to be worried about him either, just called to leave snappy voicemails about him not being there to support THEM when they needed something, and when they DID figure out he was gone, they plotted to keep it from Michael, and when that didn’t work, they actively kept Michael from going after Alex in mean and manipulative ways.
His brothers and mom as far as we know weren’t even told that Alex was missing despite m*ria supposedly still being on speaking terms with her boyfriend Greg.
Tyler poured his heart into this character and this love story and when he was unable to be there, you know Vlamis had his back and would have carried the Malex storyline for both of them, happily! We know he can do glassy eyes over inanimate objects, we know he can deliver feral Michael, we know he can banter with thin air and make us believe he’s having a conversation with “ghost” Alex. But instead of honoring this character and this love story, the character and love story (and fans) were punished with this mess.
Yes, Tyler was unable to be on set and good for him for negotiating his contract to take care of himself. This has never been about him. Remember when I said the emotional beats were big enough that the writers would have to hit some of them by accident and it felt almost purposeful because they had to work to miss all those beats so hard? I hate being right.

So m*ria knew Alex was against marriage but never let go of wanting to marry him herself huh?
This whole scene is so disgusting. Alex not even being allowed a SINGLE family member to be there, after Greg stood between Michael and Jesse's gun because he knew how important Michael was to Alex, and eventually killing Jesse to keep them safe. But thank fucking christ m*ria isn't inconvenienced about Alex's LITERAL BROTHER COMING TO HIS WEDDING because it might interfere with her hopping on some new dick. Way to make everything about m*ria instead of ALEX.
He has to fucking support this woman saying ON HIS WEDDING DAY that she's relieved the man who saved him and Michael so they could even GET here wasn't coming because she wants to break up with him and hasn't had the balls to do it for over SIX MONTHS. Even here, even now, Alex is not allowed the grace to be upset or hurt by her terrible actions and attitude. What a fucking slap in the face to Alex as a character and the fans.
"But they couldn't get the actor for Gre-" I DON'T FUCKING CARE. Take that time to have Alex and Kyle have a heart-to-heart and him thank KYLE for being the stand-in when his brother couldn't make it. BAM. 100000% less disgusting.

Friendly reminder that Tyler's health has never been any of our business and his physical availability to film has not been the issue with this season. It has ALWAYS been an issue with the writing and instead of honoring Alex's character and Malex's love story when Tyler was unable to be there, they stuck Alex in a hole and refused to let Michael care about or go after him after he found out where Alex was (like what if they just...didn't find the quicksand and we got Michael searching for Alex, or saw the parts with him putting things in the hole and not being able to pull them back. So many different options!). Alex missing sucked of course but Tyler's health is more important and no one has argued that this whole time. However, if they had done this storyline justice, it wouldn't have felt so much like Alex and Malex getting sidelined.

People out here really saying m*ria is Alex's best friend and not everything about Alex has to be about Michael when the show has literally never shown m*ria doing anything for Alex or being his friend in any way, quite the opposite really, and has REFUSED to let Alex have/do/be anything outside of Michael for AGES.
Alex fans have been BEGGING to focus on Alex outside of the Malex dynamic since the show started HOWEVER this particular storyline should be about Malex! It should be about their cosmic connection and fighting to get back to each other and putting Michael's ex into the middle of was a shit choice! Having the 2 people looking for him be a character he has not shared a scene with, and the woman who looked him in the face and said she knew what Michael meant to him and then turned around and pursued Michael anyways while manipulating Alex and preying on his trauma at every turn, is a SHITTY WRITING CHOICE.
It undercuts the Malex soulmates story, it undercuts their importance to each other, and NO ONE would be okay with this if it was happening to Echo but Malex fans are just being difficult and need to stop making everything in Alex's life about Michael?! Please.

These reviews continue to deliver nothing but truth bombs.
Alas, we need to keep in mind that there are two separate issues. The first is fans missing Alex. The second is everyone missing a good story.
Alex’s absence did not cause the terrible writing, the incoherent plot, the overly packed narrative, or any of the other issues that have occurred. All you have to do is look back over the show’s history to know that these problems have always existed.
There was absolutely a way to make Alex a part of the show without the audience seeing him. It also would have tightened up the writing by giving the narrative more coherence and making room for better character arcs.
Alex’s disappearance should have been all Michael, all the time. It could have gone like this: We take the not seen sex to the bedroom and make it seen. Michael “all impulse” Guerin in the throes of passion puts a handprint on Alex. It would be the queer version of Liz being thrown into a bookshelf or Maria knocking down a painting. Now, Michael and Alex are connected. Alex gets sucked into the alien sandpit. He’s distressed. He’s scared. He’s confused. Michael feeling this rush of emotions collapses. Michael becomes possessed with finding Alex. He spends hours, days in his lair. Alex finds a way to communicate with him, growing Michael’s obsession. He feels, through the connection left by the print, Alex getting weak. Michael feels the sickness coursing through his body, and then he realizes that Alex is dying. Michael is now frantic. We then pick up with Kyle and Michael finding a way into the portal, and Michael entering.
This didn’t happen because the writers have never known what to do with Maria, so they toss her leftovers or storylines that rightfully belong in the hands of another character or worse yet give her a plot that adds little to the season’s overall narrative. It also didn’t happen because the show was full to the brim with guest stars.
***
With only two episodes left, the writers decided to pack a proposal into the episode. They’ve wasted tons of time, so now there is truly no time to waste. Michael accepts Alex’s proposal and let’s it be known that’s he’s so in love with Alex that it’s embarrassing. No, what’s embarrassing is that this show wasted so many season not taking advantage of the chemistry these two generate. These two deserve the proposal and their happy ending, but I'm still peeved that it was rushed.
Do we think they’ll get married in the pocket dimension?...I’m of two minds. Mind the first: Their crap friends don’t deserve invites to the wedding. Mind the second: Unless you subscribe to anarchy, the marriage isn’t legal until you sign the certificate, so sure go ahead, get married in the upside down.
The proposal and almost-not quite celebration sex is interrupted by Alex confessing that he’s dying of radiation poisoning. And this was the moment when all I could do was chuckle and shake my head in disgust. Not because I was surprised, but because Alex remains the writers’ favorite punching bag. I mean, Liz vapes alien mist and gets a Wild West adventure; Alex does his job and gets radiation poisoning. Similar.
***
One would think Michael and Alex could have their reunion moment without any intrusions...Sadly, the writers decided to slap the ice cream out of viewers hands by dragging Maria into the conversation. Even when we don’t see Maria, we have to hear about Maria. Apparently, she created something. The words Alex spoke were 93% too made up for me to follow.
***
I’m highly amused that Max and Michael have been traipsing around Roswell with the mark of Ophicius etched on their bodies. We basically have a situation where someone sees a cool letter or symbol from a language they don’t speak only to discover their new tattoo says ‘dead chipmunk sex is the best sex.”
***
I’ve decided not to ask how Clyde knows everything because then I’d have to ask about the burned grove of trees. It’s another moment where you stop and wonder how writing can be this awful. I mean think about it. Alex saw the trees and then someone burned the trees. Whomst’d burned the trees?...Do we really have time for another mystery or will this simply be an illogical complication for the sake of adding just one more complication? I dare say we know the answer, but I’m willing to be proven wrong.
***
Roswell, New Mexico is the psychological equivalent of believing you’ve caught Santa coming down the chimney only to discover it’s the clown from Poltergeist gnawing on a bloody reindeer leg. You can’t unsee it. You can’t forget it. And in your heart of hearts, you knew the moment was too good to be true. It was never going to be Santa. It was always going to be a bloody nightmare.

My prediction for the remaining episodes is Malex reunites in 4x11 which will probably be the only other episode M*ria misses this season. The show will still somehow find a way to make it about her and none of the emotional beats will land. I hate it here.
You think they'll have her miss the episode where Malex reunites? You're far more optimistic than I. My prediction is that she's there and serves as the conduit for Michael to save Alex and nearly dies herself so they all have to fawn over her and her amazing, and saintly sacrifice. 🙃

Okay but it's also SO insulting that after Vlamis especially went to bat so hard for Malex, the show just...hung him out to dry this season. They have him getting kissed by another woman and spending all his time with his ex in Alex's house, they have Alex reaching out to her instead of Michael, and then they cut scenes of Michael caring and worrying about Alex making it look like Michael doesn't care that much and Vlamis is hyping people up for nothing. It's so disrespectful when he and Jeanine did so much of the legwork promoting and hyping the show, much better than ANY of the official accounts did, only to barely remember Liz is supposed to be the lead, when they do she is nearly unrecognizable, and leaving Vlamis to promote a final season that was supposed to be Malex boyfriends era by writing a character who is barely allowed to remember his bf exists for 6 episodes and then has to apologize for his sense of urgency about saving Alex and stop doing that to help everyone else save Liz.
I know Vlaims isn’t going to make a reputation as someone who trash-talks the shows he works on, especially not the one that gave him a big break, and that’s totally fair! It’s a job and he hustled his ASS off to get the most of of this exposure. But I would loooooove to hear his thoughts at some point.
