“Hey!” Ruby called through the townhouse for the boys. “Have you guys seen the olive oil?” Ruby climbed up on the counter to try and see if it was on the top shelf or something. “Guys!” they said again when they didn’t get an answer. “If you want the Hayes special tonight, you’ll help me find the olive oil.”

“Be down in a minute!” Drew called down, before grabbing the energy drink he’d left in his room. He barreled down the stairs, jumping over the last two like he always did, and all but bowled Hunter over when he reached the kitchen. “Fuck man, move,” Drew joked, jostling his brother’s shoulder with a big grin. “I can check,”  he volunteered, moving to the cabinets in question and flinging them open. When it came to cooking, Drew was a lazy guy, content to roll up at the last moment, right when things were finished and ready to eat. But for the Hayes special? He was on a mission. After completely rearranging the cabinet and offering up some colorful curses, he turned around empty-handed. “Nothin’ in here. A lot of other shit though. How much soy sauce do we really need?” ( @halfmortals​ )

“Ooh, the supply,” Hunter mimicked with a chuckle because it always sounded so official even though he’d been there and seen the inner workings and the glamour had all gone. Drew slammed into him and Hunter slipped and slide with his mismatched socks on the shiny new floorboards, all but falling over in the process. “What the fuck, dude, what if I wanted to check the cabinets above the fridge?” He muttered through a smile and was loud enough to hear as he went and stood next to some other cabinets. “I’ll check in here, but,” He said with his hand on the cabinet door handle but didn’t open it yet. “If it’s in here, Rue, I get to have a bigger serving than Drew, alrighty?” He suggested. Ruby climbed down from the one counter as Drew ran into Hunter, they flicked the back of Drew’s head, “Don’t be an ass,” they said to him, “you ran into him.” They shrugged at Drew’s comments about the cabinets. “I don’t know Drew, didn’t you buy all that soy sauce?” they said as they climbed onto the other counter to get at another top shelf. “Hmm,” she thought about Hunter’s offer, “Okay, I think I can do that. As long as he doesn’t steal your plate when I plate it,” they replied, teasingly mostly at Drew. ( @yungimmortals​ )
