Day 6 & 7 : Sarchu to Leh Though night was cold af once the sun came up, everything went back to normal. This was going to be the longest stretch so RE crew also arranged 3 litre extra petrol for everyone though I was left with 3 bars when I reached the petrol pump at Karu. Btw Thunderbird was excrption since it has freaking 20litre petrol tank! Doctor was ready with oxygen cylinders since this is thr stretch where many would be prone to get affected by AMS and i was secretly wishing I wouldn't get to use it. This is the stretch last time I had issues while reaching pang. That was our first regroup point. Water crossing and offroading until Pang but I was okay. Wasn't really affected this time. Even took a small detour at the More plains leading to a beautiful view of the valley. Touched the peak point of Tanglangla and just about to deacend there was a landslide n we had to wait at the high altitude pass with no choice. It even snowed a bit. Reached rumtse, had nice tea and comfortable ride till leh. Lot has improved since the time I visitef, many of the offroads are now beautiful tarmac roads. May be disappointment for some. Riding those offroads on duke before n now on Himalayan, that was like a huge difference. While on duke I could only maintain upto 20 to 30kmph speed, on Himalayan it was a comfortable 40 to 60kmph. What an amazing suspension this bike has. Probably thats the difference between a street and adventure bikes. And thats the end of my queue. I had to return back due to the limited leaves I had though I had the option to continue the ride for the rest of Odyssey. All the crew and co riders were so great and coordinated well. Thanks to Royal Enfield for giving the opportunity to be part of this ride. Made lot of friends and memories for life. Until next ride. #HO2019 #royalenfieldHimalayan #leaveeveryplacebetter @theroyalenfieldhimalayan @royalenfield #royalenfield #himalayan #leh #lehladakh https://www.instagram.com/p/BzzapnsATM9/?igshid=1rx1f7u6as6dw

In theory, most of the mountains of Ladakh are barren, devoid of green cover. However, it does not mean that these mountains are boring. What they lack in one aspect, they more than make up by their flamboyance. Look at this landscape near Rumtse for example - who would not love a multicoloured mountain? Add a dramatic sky with fluffy clouds and a white pagoda in the middle of nowhere, and the dream is complete! #ladakhdiaries Photo: Rumtse, Leh Srinagar Highway.
